A fine cup-hilted sword dating: 19th Century provenance: Spain Straight, double-edged blade of hexagonal section, grooved at the first part featuring inscriptions; iron hilt, cup finely pierced with geometrical and floral motifs, quillons, guard and pommel chiselled with spirals; wooden grip with iron wire binding and smooth ring-nuts. dimensions: length 124.5 cm.
An exceptional shield depicting scenes of the Genesis dating: third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: England Elliptical, metallic shield featuring bas-relieved decorations. At the centre is a circular, silver-plated plaque (small parts missing) held by small studs depicting Adam and Eve thrown out of Eden by the cherub, the Garden features fruits, foliage and trees on the ground. Around the central plaque are two silver-plated plaques fixed in the same way, both curved: the left one depicting an army of angels marching at war, with Cherubs in armour with lances and shields, angels playing trumpets, at the centre two planets (probably the Day of Judgment?); the right one the effigy of rebellious angels cast out of Heaven, in the upper part the angels are conducted by God throwing thunderbolts, rebellious angels fallen, pushed by a Cherub with lance and shield. In the upper part of the shield is the effigy of God surrounded by rays, putti and the emblem of a winged hourglass surrounded by Ouroboros snake, underneath is a star. In the lower portion of the shield, between the two circular plaques, it's Michael archangel defeating Satan, depicted with gold-inlaid armour. The border is divided into four, long cartouches, the two upper ones depicting angels and signs of the zodiac. The lower ones featuring floral decorations, a female figure with half body of snake, and Death. The margins which frame and divide all different elements are inlaid in gold. At the bottom the signature "Morel Lavenil fecit 1866" and "Elkington Co.". At the rear surface of the shield a small plaque marked Department of Sience & Art. - Elkington". Electroplated shield featuring outstanding, bas-relieved and stiacciato decorations. George Richards Elkington (1801-1865) patented the first commercial electroplating process. He opened his factory in Birmingham in 1841. dimensions: height 86,5 cm.

An interesting snaphaunce flintlock gun dating: last quarter of the 17th Century provenance: North Italy Smooth, three-stage, 14.5 mm cal. barrel, octagonal and grooved at the first part, signed "LAZARINO COMINAZZO", the second part of sixteen faces and the third round, with iron foresight; flintlock with smooth plate, hammer, pan and batterie finely sculpted with mask, dragon heads and floral motifs, sliding pan cover; wooden half stock slightly sculpted, with iron mounts richly pierced and chiselled en suite. A rare percussion gun for tiger hunting dating: mid-19th Century provenance: India Heavy, octagonal, smooth, 16 mm cal. barrel; box-lock mechanism with rear hammer and trigger with trigger guard; the mechanism is fixed to a tapering socket of octagonal section in order to place it on a pole. Under the barrel is a bayonet with undulated, double-edged blade with two long spikes at the base. The bayonet is placed on a sliding arm ending in a lever which can put pressure on the trigger, two springs pushes the spikes back to their first position. When the blade reached its target, the mechanism of the gun made the barrel shoot automatically. On the lower side of the gun is an iron ramrod too. dimensions: length 54,7 cm.
