' The Dambusters Raid ' John Sweetman - original paperback book. Autographed to the first free end paper by last surviving British Dambuster George ' Johnny ' Johnson, who has added ' I will always remember that night, and the raid ' to his signature. Supplied with a 5x7" colour photograph of Johnson using a handheld bomb sight, inscribed ' Steady, steady, bomb gone!' to his autograph. Exclusive for this auction. NOTE: Proceeds from this lot are being donated towards the ' Attack On The Sorpe Dam ' film project. The film tells the story of the famous Dambusters raid of WWII, and features testimony from George 'Johnny' Johnson himself.

A pair of Doulton Lambeth 1882 Hannah Barlow vases with patterned top and bottom and incised pictures in the panel. One is a sheep being chased by dogs and underneath has the mark of Hannah Barlow followed by '235' and the mark of Lucy A Barlow '482' (also features the marks of possibly Emma A Burrows, L Clark and one other). The second vase features sheep, dogs and plants and underneath the mark for Hannah Barlow '234' and Lucy A Barlow '481' as well as the same marks as on the first vase. Approximate height 21.5cm/ 8 1/2".

Willi Messerschmitt signed 7 x 5 b/w portrait photo sitting at his desk in later years. Probably Messerschmitt's single most important design was the Messerschmitt Bf 109, designed in 1934 with the collaboration of Walter Rethel. The Bf 109 became the most important fighter in the Luftwaffe as Germany rearmed prior to World War II. To this day, it remains one of the most-produced warplanes in history, with some 34,000 built, with only the Soviet Union Ilyushin Il-2 surpassing it at 36,000. Another Messerschmitt aircraft, first called "Bf 109R", purpose-built for record setting, but later redesignated Messerschmitt Me 209, broke the absolute world airspeed record and held the world speed record for propeller-driven aircraft until 1969. His firm also produced the first jet-powered fighter to enter service - the Messerschmitt Me 262, although Messerschmitt himself did not design it. Good Condition. John Gibson Lockhart hand written letter dated 1853. (Scottish writer and author, best known for his definitive biography of Sir Walter Scott titled Life of Sir Walter Scott (1837-1838), which is considered the second most admirable in the English language (after Boswell's Life of Johnson). A scholar of classics, Lockhart first came into notice while writing for the Scottish Tory publication Blackwood's Magazine, famed for its aggressive articles and brilliant criticism of the Scottish Whig stronghold and the Romantic intellectual movement. In 1818, Lockhart met Sir Walter Scott, and went on to marry his eldest daughter Sofia two years later. He worked as editor of the Quarterly Review from 1825 until 1853, as well as wrote novels such as Valerius (1821), Reginald Dalton (1823) and Matthew Wald (1824) and served as editor for the famed Murray's Family Library (1829). This wonderful example of coin art depicts the key moments, which helped the RFU England Team to beat Australia on their home ground in Sydney, to win the 2003 World Cup 17 points to 20.
