2004 Aston Martin Vanquish to S-Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:19700The Vanquish is widely accepted as being one of the most important cars developed by Aston Martin and heavily influenced the direction of the company's line-up of sports cars in recent times. So much so, in fact, that the Newport Pagnell factory underwent an extensive refurbishment to accommodate it, gaining a new assembly line, paint shop, rolling road and water test facility. The genius that is Ian Callum, who developed the DB7, then turned his attention on the new Vanquish using a bonded aluminium tub as the core as well as carbon fibre struts welded to the backbone. All new engine management systems were used with drive-by-wire throttle control and a six-speed manual gearbox with an electro-hydraulic change mechanism matched to a hugely powerful six litre, V12 powerplant. It was an instant success and was the obvious choice for the nation's favourite secret agent. Sadly, it was the last Aston Martin to be built at Newport Pagnell with all future cars moving to Gaydon and using more production line-based build systems. The near-perfect and bespoke example offered here today was ordered at the Park Lane showrooms of Aston Martin by a gentleman from Surrey and registered in March 2004. It was fully equipped with all the latest extras including Connolly leather and Wilton carpeting throughout costing the princely sum of £165,000. The car presents with a full service history with, notably, a new and uprated 'S' clutch fitted in 2013. The mileage at that time was 15,683 however, the vehicle had very little use since that time as it changed hands to the present owner in March 2014 with the mileage showing just 15,753. During the current ownership it has been looked after regardless of cost and always serviced by accredited Aston Martin specialists and with the full-service history maintained. The current mileage is still only 19,700 so, amazingly, this has been kept and maintained regardless of cost, and benefits from a full-service history with just two recorded owners. Additionally, we are led to believe that the first owner always kept the car garaged as part of his private collection as indeed has the current owner. A new set of tyres were fitted in April 2020 with such a low mileage, this represents a well-deserved place in the annals of Aston Martin history as not only one of the last cars ever to leave its spiritual home but uprated to S-Specification and kept in truly remarkable condition throughout.

1994 Ferrari 456 GT Transmission: manualMileage:60209Introduced at Garage Francorchamps, Belgium in 1992, the 456 was Ferrari's attempt to produce a motor car that was somewhat different from their usual offerings. The idea was to generate the space and comfort of a Gran Turismo (GT) whilst being the most powerful 2+2 in the world. The 456 GT incorporated features familiar to generations of Ferrari cognoscenti with the front mounted four-cam V12, rear transaxle, tubular steel space frame chassis, and all-independent suspension remaining, whilst an electronically controlled adaptive suspension and a six-speed gearbox made its first appearance (an automatic gearbox was also an option). Power was supplied via the nearly 450 horsepower V12 that produced a massive 398 ft lb of torque at 4500rpm. Variable ratio power steering, three-way adjustable suspension dampening, self-levelling rear ride height and a speed-activated rear spoiler ensure the handling is up to the performance. The interior was well appointed with features you expect from a luxury motor car. Aerodynamically efficient with a subtly beautiful curvaceous body, the 456 remained stable up to its maximum speed of around 190mph, a figure that made it the world's fastest production four-seater passenger car. This superb example of this iconic front engine V12 Ferrari is presented in the best colour combination of dark metallic blue with a crème leather interior. It comes with the desirable manual gearbox and a very good service history, with it being serviced at yearly intervals over the last few years by the well-known Ferrari specialist, Rardley Motors Ltd in Grayshott, Surrey. The history file is very concise with many old MoT test certificates, records showing the car's past ownership and many invoices chronicling the various owners' expenditure on the Ferrari making certain it has been kept in fine condition mechanically and cosmetically. We believe its paintwork is original and is in good general condition with the interior also in good general condition with the only sign of wear and tear being on the driver's side bolster. A fabulous example which also comes with its own soft car cover and still exudes panache and style even after nearly 30 years.
1994 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III Transmission: automaticMileage:56000The Silver Spirit III and Silver Spur III were introduced in 1993 featuring engine improvements, more power and some cosmetic updates over the earlier models; the Silver Spur being the longer wheelbase version and the independent adjustment of the rear seats. The interior was dominated by the expected combination of fine wood and leather and interestingly was also the first Rolls-Royce to be fitted with a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy mascot atop the radiator grille. This beautifully maintained example with 19 service stamps recorded, as well as two additional recent service bills, was the property of a retired Army Colonel who has both looked after it and maintained it without regard to cost. The car is finished in dark metallic blue paintwork to the exterior and has clearly been always garage-kept. The magnolia leather interior is in excellent condition, piped in dark blue with blue carpets and highly figured burr walnut. The headlining is also unmarked magnolia hide with additional occasional tables fitted for rear passengers. There is no corrosion evident under the bonnet, wheel arches or bumper surrounds, all usual hot-spots. The air conditioning blows cold and the engine runs silently with the gearbox seamless and imperceptible in operation. A good Spur is often hard to find and this example is certainly hard to fault, especially with a comprehensive history file and both factory owner's book packs. A full pre-sale service and check-up has also been performed by noted Rolls-Royce experts, Colbrook Specialists immediately prior to the sale.
1960 Triumph TR3A Transmission: manualMileage:55883The Triumph TR3 was built between 1955 and 1962 and was usually supplied as an open two-seater, although an occasional rear seat and bolt-on steel hardtop were available as extras. It was powered by a 1991cc engine which initially produced 95bhp increasing to 100bhp at 5000rpm. The four-speed manual transmission could be supplemented by an overdrive unit on the top three ratios electrically operated and controlled by a switch on the dash. In 1956, the front brakes changed from drum to disc becoming the first British series production car to do so. Because of these disc brakes, the TR3 became known for its superior braking ability, making it an autocross favourite.Presented in red with a desirable white hardtop, this magnificent example of the iconic British sportscar boats just four owners in its entire life. Offered with a large history file which contains information going back to 1985 when the second owner, a Mr. Howard purchased the car requiring full restoration. The engine was rebuilt with the crankshaft re-ground and new liners and pistons fitted, along with unleaded valve seats with new valves and new springs. An electronic ignition was fitted, and the gearbox completely overhauled with a new clutch for good measure. The front suspension was updated and braided hoses fitted alongside new side screens rebuilt with a matching hood and tonneau. The third owner fitted a front anti-roll bar, and all the suspension bushes were polybushed alongside narrow V-belt pullies (less friction) and alternator. The car then took part in numerous rallies such as the TR Register Pyrenees tour in 1995 and the Millennium Tour in 2000.In 2012, the car was completely stripped and painted by Bristol Classic & Sports Cars in Clevedon. Contained within the history file are approximately seven A4 size sheets of paper with 35 photographs per sheet recording the recommissioning in 2015, we believe this included twin choke Weber carburettors, servo brakes and electronic fuel pump before tuning on a rolling road. You will be pleased to know that the car comes with old logbooks, tax discs and the factory hardtop which was also restored in 2015.Looked after and cherished without regard to cost, this TR3A with overdrive performs amicably in rallies but would be equally at home on the road and the bills and invoices over the years add up to thousands and thousands. Supplied with a new tonneau cover along with the hardtop, this is a UK car with matching numbers and comes with a BMIH Trust Certificate.Interested parties should note that the hard top for this Lot requires new glass.
1948 Morris Minor MM Lowlight Split Screen Transmission: manualMileage:15538Sir Alec Issigonis' concept was to combine the luxury and convenience of a good motor car at a price affordable by the working classes. The Minor was a roomy vehicle with superior cornering and handling characteristics. The Minor prototype had been known as the Morris Mosquito. More than 1.3 million of the lightweight, rear-wheel drive cars were eventually produced, mainly in Cowley, Oxfordshire, becoming Britain's first car to sell a million units and was exported around the world. Production continued in Birmingham until 1972 with the last Morris Minor (commercial) assembled at Stoke, Nelson, New Zealand in 1974. The front torsion bar suspension was shared with the larger Morris Oxford as was the almost-unibody construction. Although the Minor was originally designed to accept a flat four engine with four distinctive gaps in the engine bay to accommodate it, late in the development stage it was replaced by a 918cc side-valve inline-four engine, pretty much unchanged from the outgoing Morris 8 and producing 27.5hp and 39lbf ft of torque. This little engine pushed the Minor to just 64mph but delivered 40 miles per imperial gallon. This example is one of the very earliest cars in existence, being just the seventh car to roll off the production line in 1948. It is understood to be the oldest example in private ownership, with chassis number 501 belonging to the National Motor Museum. The car was purchased by our vendor's late uncle in 1965, being in the family ever since. The car is presented in exceptional condition throughout, the Platinum Grey paintwork gleams and would proudly sit next to far more expensive cars at any show. The car has some very rare features, such as the single round rear lights, a part which is said to have taken twenty years to source during the ground up restoration process, when a new old stock pair were found at an autojumble. The car also has side semaphore indicators and chrome door tops, opposed the stainless steel tops found on later cars. This example really does need to be seen to be fully appreciated, it is understood to be the oldest running useable example; there are no records of chassis numbers 502-506, so this car is likely to be the oldest surviving example which is publicly available. It's very unlikely that the National Motor Museum will sell chassis 501 anytime soon. This car would be a fantastic addition to any collection and is an opportunity which should not be missed.
1978 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II Transmission: automaticMileage:58000Whilst the Yichang Factory in China assembles a car every 46 seconds, over here we take our time. And it shows. For every Silver Shadow that Rolls-Royce produced in Crew during the 1970s and 80s, the highly focused and specialised workforce spent 12 weeks putting each one together. From the advanced fully-independent and self-levelling suspension to the all-aluminium 6.75 litre, V8 engine with its power-output tactfully described as "adequate". As modern as the engineering was beneath the skin, every owner was still afforded the last word in luxury and refinement with Connolly leather and burr walnut, a symphony of the most elegant of automotive interiors. This ULEZ-exempt example is presented in the rare-optioned metallic Silver Sand with a beige interior piped in dark brown with Cumberland Stone carpets, lambswool over-rugs and footrests. The Cumberland Stone carpets also continue into the boot, a feature rarely seen, compared to standard black. Also included is a dark brown dash-top with beige knee-roll and radio surround. This Silver Shadow II also boasts the Harvey Bailey handling package, passenger door mirror controllable from the inside and lightly tinted Sundym glass all round in fact, the interior of this car is hard to fault especially when combined with ice-cold (updated system to R134A) air conditioning.Originally delivered to Lex Mead Rolls-Royce in Bristol, it was then immediately transferred to Jack Barclay in London whereupon it was sold to the first owner. A comprehensive service history, initially from Jack Barclay then Haines & Hall followed by specialists can be found within a stamped service book in the original owner's pack alongside all receipts, MoT's test certificates and a documented summary of all service work. Another recent addition includes new hydraulic brakes and suspension pipes, four new and correct Avon Turbospeed tyres, a jack and toolkit in the boot and both original ignition keys. Serviced less than 200 miles ago, it will nonetheless receive another light service prior to delivery as well and a full MoT test certificate. The Financial Times Weekend supplement recently tipped the Silver Shadow as one of the best investments you can make currently. Historics would not disagree with that august publication in this instance.
1975 Ford Escort RS1800 Rally Car Transmission: manualMileage:The squarer-styled Escort Mk. II appeared in January 1975 with the first production models having rolled off the production lines on 2nd December 1974. Unlike the first Escort (which was developed by Ford of Britain), the second generation was developed jointly between the UK and Ford of Germany. Codenamed 'Brenda' during its development, it had the same mechanical configuration as its predecessor; the estate and van versions even used the same panel-work as the Mk. I but with the Mk. II front end and interior. The car used a revised underbody which had, in fact, been introduced as a running change during the last six months of the life of the Mk. I. The car was a success with just four body styles competing in a variation of market niches where rival manufacturers had multiple models. The 'L' and 'GL' models were mainly purchased by the private sector; the 'Sport', 'RS Mexico' and 'RS2000' in the performance market; the 'Ghia' for an untapped small car luxury sector and 'base' models for the fleet market. The Escort continued to prove hugely popular with buyers in Britain during the second half of the 1970s, but production slowed and after an incredibly popular model run, ended in Britain in August 1980 with other countries following soon after.Built around one of the spare shells provided to Ford South Africa for their works rally team, it is reported that this RS1800 was bought by the well-known and respected Italian driver, Piazza Musso when the South African Ford team closed. Along with the unused shell and another, he also acquired direct from Ford South Africa many spares including; gearboxes, axles and suspension. UK based and well-regarded Escort rally specialists, Phil and Mick Squires were asked to travel to South Africa to complete the builds and compete in the sister car. By the end of the event, a deal had been struck to buy the car offered here. Mr. Squire even remembers having the factory 'Team Span' stripe stickers included in the deal, which are fitted to the car to this day. Before the car was sold, its 2.1 litre engine was removed as it would not have been legal to run in UK competition. Upon its arrival to the UK, the car was sold as a rolling chassis to the vendor who prepared the car to BTRDA specification, originally in the 1600cc class and latterly the 1800cc class. The car enjoyed good success between 2003 and 2009 winning several rallies in its respective classes before being converted to period specification to compete in the Historic Rally series, before later that year being put into long term storage.Full specification of the car can be seen in its history file, but highlights include; 2.0 litre three stud BDX competition engine with 48 Weber carburettors, AP racing twin plate clutch, Tony Law manifold and exhaust system, Terry Samuels built gearbox, works wiring loom, safety devices roll cage, four link box turrets, large differential housing with Atlas limited slip differential, GP4 adjustable pedal box, Bilstein shock absorbers, GP4 adjustable front struts with roller bearing top mounts, 'Monte Carlo' brake calipers and dry sump oil feed system. Supplied with a V5 registration document and fitted with a new starter motor, this piece of rallying history is ready to hunt down victories once more.
1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:73372The Aston Martin DB6 was launched at the London Motor Show in 1965, following on from the highly successful DB5, immortalised by the 1964 James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. The front of the DB6 was visually similar to the DB5 but closer inspection revealed quite a different car. The wheelbase was lengthened allowing additional passenger space in the rear along with a raised roof line. The profile of the rear quarter lights echoed those of the DB4 GT Zagato, a styling theme that continued through to the DBS and V8 models until production finished in 1990. Both front and rear bumpers were split into two pieces and the rear of the car was restyled with a Kamm tail which helped reduce aerodynamic drag and gave the car more stability at speed. The engine remained the same as the DB5 unit, a 3995cc twin overhead cam straight-six, the Vantage version offering a claimed 325bhp.This example is an original Vantage, boasting triple Weber 45DCOE carburettors and is beautifully presented in the timeless colour combination of Silver Birch with Dark Navy leather interior. Fitted with power steering and a Webasto roof, which our vendor says it actually a very welcome feature on hot summers days. First registered on 4th May 1966, then sold to a Mr & Mrs Kemp in 1969, who would keep the car until 1976 before selling it to another Mrs Kemp, who went on to keep the car until 2010. Our vendor purchased the car in 2011 and has cherished it ever since. The history file is extensive, with a record of works going all the way back to 1970. The car was largely unrestored when our vendor purchased it from the Aston Workshop, but he chose to have it repainted to freshen it up, and had the interior restored to, both now present beautifully. There are a few age-related marks on the edges of panels, but the general appearance of the car is excellent. The bumpers, wheel spinners and interior components were all re-chromed in 2013, they present well and retain a good shine. Our vendor has attended to many mechanical parts during his ownership, the engine received new valve guides, new valves (6x Vantage 2.1 inlet valves & 6x standard exhaust valves), head re-build, new cam followers, new calipers all round, carburettor rebuild, new bushes, new timing chain and tensioner, new water pump, the list goes on. If you are looking to add a DB6 to your collection, a Vantage is surely the one to have. It's nice to find an example which is virtually unrestored, the car has just been maintained and freshened up over the years, this example is ready to be enjoyed right away and our vendor reports it is always a joy to drive.Interested parties should note that this vehicle is sold without a V5C registration document. The vendor will provide a covering letter to enable the new keeper to apply for a V5C registration document by means of a V62 form.
2005 Mercedes-Benz SL350 Transmission: automaticMileage:88700The R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and sold under the SL-Class model names. The R129 replaced the R107 SL-Class in 1989 and was subsequently replaced by the R230 in 2001. The R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 saloon and featured many innovative details for the time. It came to public attention in 1991 when Diana, Princess of Wales, sold her Jaguar XJS to lease a J-registration, metallic-red 500 SL, becoming the first member of the Royal Family to use a foreign car. This controversy sparked a media storm as it was questioned whether a member of British Royalty should drive a foreign car. The fifth generation of the legendary SL series, made by Mercedes-Benz, was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof- a first for the SL class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997.This fabulous Mercedes-Benz is presented in blue with a grey leather trim and is in excellent condition. HK55 HBE is accompanied by a good service history. These are very well-appointed vehicles with electric seats, cruise control and automatic transmission all coming as standard equipment. The power hood works as intended and we are advised by vendor that this SL350 drives with no known faults but with a few other cars in his possession, he just doesn't have enough space to keep this one. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 4th May 2024. These models never seem to age and are extremely practical as well as being elegant and swift when one needs to be somewhere in a hurry.Guide £11,000- £14,000
1929 MG PA to Q-Type Specification Transmission: manualMileage:2755The MG Q-Type is a racing car produced by MG in 1934. The chassis was based on the one used on the MG K3 but was narrower and used N-Type axles. The engine used the cylinder block from the P-Type but with a special crankshaft to bring the capacity down to 746cc by reducing the stroke. A high-pressure Zoller supercharger was fitted giving a boost to 2.5 atmospheres and allowing the engine to produce 113bhp at 7200rpm. A sprint version was also made with output increased to 146bhp which at nearly 200bhp per litre this figure was higher than any other racing engine in the world at that time and equated to over 200bhp per 1,000cc! To add stability at the inevitable high speeds, it was decided to increase the wheelbase and track on the basis that the extra power would more than compensate for the additional weight. The wheelbase was made the same as on the K3, and N-Type axles of 3' 9 track, with special 12 brake drums, were used.Regarded as the ultimate traditional overhead cam-engined MG Midget, it is thought only eight were made (Michael Sedgwick states nine) as the car was expensive at £550"“£650, and the rigid-axle chassis had difficulty in dealing with the power of the engine. In general layout the car followed the 1934 MG K3 very closely and inside elevation it is not easy to tell the two models apart. All eight Q-Types were originally fitted with very attractive open two-seat sports racing coachwork with a sloping, pointed tail and outside exhaust. The final track testing of the Q-Type was undertaken by Bill Everitt and on Whit Monday, 1934, he broke the Class H Brooklands Mountain lap record at 69.97mph, first time out. He then competed at a Donington Park race meeting, achieving a first place and two seconds. At Brooklands on August 1st, he broke the Standing Kilometer and Standing Mile records at 69.75 and 79.88mph respectively - this was a direct measure of the improvement of the Q-Type since these records were taken from E.R. Hall who had set them the previous year in an MG J4. In October 1934, Everitt raised the Mountain Lap record to 75.58mph in the Q-Type and the Standing Kilometer and Mile records to the remarkable figures of 75.42 and 85.59mph.The Q-Type bodied MG PA on offer today is presented in French Racing Blue and we ascertain from the large history file it was subject to a full photographic restoration in 2007. In stunning order and boasting the Volumex supercharger, during our vendors tenure the car has undergone significant expenditure to create what is a fabulous recreation of the Q-Type racer showing a body work akin to the days racing at Brooklands. This included the blower, the bespoke external handbrake, quick fill fuel caps , turned metal dash with dual chronograph clocks, Brooklands aero screens, aluminium foot plates and aluminium and rubber mats in the footwell. The bonnet straps and coachwork are as new likewise the trim sitting on wire wheels with bespoke tonneau and a fabulous fantail exhaust.Eligible we would believe for hill climbs and sprints, this would be a great drivers car and certainly one of the best looking examples in the paddock. Our vendor has moved abroad so can no longer enjoy thus viewing is strongly advised for a car that will be finding a new home. This is an exceedingly rare opportunity to purchase a stunning homage to one of the eight Q-Types and in fine condition. It is an extremely exciting road car as well as a competitive pre-war racing car.
1975 Alfa Romeo Spider Transmission: manualMileage:4626The Alfa Romeo Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993 and is widely regarded as a design classic. It remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The final Alfa Romeo Spider and the last rear wheel drive vehicle produced before the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione debuted in May 2012 was produced in April 1993. The first presentation of the car, as a prototype, was at the Turin Motor Show in 1961; however, the continuing success of existing models and the economic challenges facing Italy at the time meant that the first pre-launch Spiders only began to emerge from the Pininfarina production line at the end of 1965. The 1300 and 2000 cars were modified in 1974 and 1975 respectively to include two small seats behind the front seats, becoming a 2+2.This right hand drive Alfa Romeo Spider was originally registered in South Africa and has recently been imported into the UK. It is fitted with a 2.0 litre engine which also has a turbo fitted to it. The bodywork is in good condition as is the biscuit-coloured interior. Supplied with a NOVA certificate and a current MoT test certificate valid until 19th June 2024, this handsome Alfa Romeo offers 'wind in the hair' motoring for a modest outlay.
1995 Ford Escort RS Cosworth Transmission: manualMileage:21752The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was released in 1992 just as the Sierra Sapphire 4x4 Cosworth production was ending. The radical styling that included flared arches and the unmissable whale tail rear spoiler, displayed only a small part of the potential however, that potential was fulfilled by the fitment of the Ford power unit that lay under the bonnet boosted by a turbo charger. Production commenced in February 1992 with the first 2,500 being homologation specials. The Cosworth was entered into the World Rally Championship the following year, enjoying outstanding success in the hands of works drivers François Delecour and Miki Biasion. Although the RS Cosworth resembled the Escort road car, it was in fact based on a shortened Sierra 4x4 floor pan and used the latter's running gear. This meant that, unlike the mainstream Mk. V Escort, the RS Cosworth mounted its engine fore-and-aft rather than transversely, it also used the Sierra 4x4's five-speed manual transmission which featured permanent four-wheel drive that split the power 34/66 front/rear. In road trim, the RS Cosworth produced 227bhp and with that horsepower in a nimble, compact car, performance was outstanding. The end came too early for many enthusiasts with production ceasing in January 1996. Only 7,145 cars were produced over a four-year period. This example is presented in Ash Black with one of the rarest interior trims, red hex Recaro. The overall condition of the car is excellent, our vendor purchased the car from a local gentleman who owned it alongside a daily driven 200,000 mile Sierra Cosworth, the Escort Cosworth was the one he chose to keep tucked away with the mileage kept to a minimum. The odometer failed in 2012 at 25,184 miles, a replacement was fitted showing 17,666 miles, meaning the true mileage of the car is now just 29,270 miles. The car remains in almost completely unmodified form, the only change being a stainless steel exhaust, which provides a very subtle note and is by no means too 'shouty'. The cambelt was replaced in 2021 and a service was carried out at the same time, only around 500 miles have been covered since. The MoT test certificate is valid until March 2024, two advisories were noted which were, some slight corrosion on underside components and a perished CV boot - both have since been attended to.The Escort Cosworth has one of the most legendary silhouettes of all time with its instantly recognisable whale tail rear spoiler. They were a rare sight on the roads when new, further amplified now more than 30 years after the cars initial release, only 241 cars are now registered on UK roads. This is a particularly well-kept example in a desirable colour combination and boasting less than 30,000 miles from new and has proven to be one of the most desirable fast Ford's in recent years.
2003 Bentley Azure Performance Final Series Transmission: automaticMileage:15400The Bentley Azure was launched in 1995 and was based on the platform of the Continental R which had been launched in 1991. The Azure intended to both convey a sense of presence and allow for comfortable seating of four adult passengers. Power came from the company's stalwart 6.75 litre, V8 featuring a single intercooled turbocharger. The gearbox was a General Motors sourced four-speed automatic unit with the Azure capable of 0-60mph in an impressive 6.1 seconds. Owing to the limited space at Bentley's Crewe factory, the Azure was designed and manufactured by Pininfarina, significantly adding to the vehicle's production cost. One of the rarest of Azure developments was the 'Final Series Performance' version, only 62 examples of which were completed towards the end of production during 2002/2003. The 'FSP' was based on the Bentley Azure Mulliner, which came with an engine up-rated to produce 420bhp, suitably stiffened suspension, and various other improvements. This series was commissioned as a tribute to the cars that had marked Bentley's release from Rolls-Royce's benefaction. This Bentley Azure Performance final series is one of 62 ever produced and one of just 15 cars in right hand drive. We are led to believe the car was previously owned by Mr. Duncan, the owner/founder of the 'Henry the hoover' one of which can be found in almost every office in the UK, who owned and cherished this very special Bentley for a decade with the car wore the number plate 'H5NRY' from 2016. Presented in Peacock Blue with a cream quilted leather and French navy blue secondary leather interior and blue roof. This is a lovely low mileage car showing just 15,400 miles since its date of first registration on 27th March 2003. Offered with 17 Main dealer services at HR Owen, the car has within the last 700 miles had over £10,000 lavished on it with service and preparation for sale.General characteristics on the final edition included Bentley-branded brake calipers, a turbo boost gauge on the facia (T series layout), chromed bezels a large red starter button, diamond quilted sports seats and door inserts, a choice of dark stained walnut or black lacquer furnishings and winged Bentley motifs on the waist rails. This is an iconic and rare final series, beautifully presented and very collectable example and viewing is highly recommended.
1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster (4.2 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:23859The Jaguar E-Type was manufactured between 1961 and 1975 and its combination of good looks, high performance and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960's motoring. A great success for Jaguar, more than 70,000 E-Types were sold during its lifespan. The Series I was introduced, initially for export only, in March 1961 with the domestic market launch coming four months later in July 1961. The cars at this time used the triple SU carburetted, 3.8 litre six-cylinder XK engine from the XK150's. The first 300 cars built had flat floors and external bonnet latches and are considered rare and more valuable. After that, the floors were dished to provide more leg room and the twin hood latches moved to inside the car with the 3.8 litre engine increased to 4.2 litres in October 1964.This left hand drive E-Type 4.2 Series I roadster was imported from the US in 2013, where the owner used the car as his daily driver and took care of everything mechanically. The engine started on the button during our visit to the vendor here in the UK and sounded excellent. However, this E-Type would benefit from some investment to the coachwork as, although the body appears to have little or no corrosion, the paintwork does require some attention. The other option is to leave the exterior as it is and adopt the 'rat' look which is fashionable these days. Supplied with a V5C registration document, this Jaguar E-type roadster could well prove to be an interesting project.
2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom VII Extended Wheelbase Transmission: automaticMileage:25322There is little doubt that this represents the world's most luxurious car, it is the brand that leads where others follow. A journey of pure refinement and luxury cosseted, as you are, in classic Rolls-Royce burr-walnut and immaculate Connolly leather. Synonymous with historic motorsport, Goodwood is also known for one other famous motoring aspect. A cornerstone of automotive excellence in fact. Rolls-Royce have established their new factory there producing the Phantom, unrestrained luxury, flawless build quality and, needless to say, the most desirable executive automobile on the market today. The ride quality is second to none thanks to its advanced air-ride suspension and automatic self-levelling control system. In March 2005, an Extended Wheelbase Phantom was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show, it was 9.8" longer than the standard car. The Phantom EWB was, without a doubt, the new benchmark in terms of luxury and road presence, literally overshadowing the rather dull looking Maybach and making the long wheel-base variants of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW's 7-series and Audi A8 look like glorified taxis.Costing a staggering £350,000 when new and optioned to the highest specifications, this Phantom with Extended Wheelbase has covered just 25,322 miles (at time of photography) from new. It was ordered new by the property company of one of Russia's most wealthy Oligarchs and maintained without regard to cost. It resided underground at Beechwood House in Hampstead, one of London's most exclusive mansions, with the first three owners of the car all associated with the original owners property company. The list of options ordered for the car include individual rear seats, rear fridge and cocktail cabinet with dual decanters and glasses. Rear storage for crystal champagne flutes, rear fold-out foot rests, rear picnic tables with flip-up entertainment screens, extended burr-walnut to the steering wheel and drinks holder cover. The car also sits on new seven-star alloy wheels shod with four recent tyres giving the car a contemporary look. An expansive history file comes with the car detailing the services by Rolls-Royce, London with its most recent in October 2022. It comes with its original twin book-pack, both keys, valet door opener and more. The exterior shows stunning royal blue metallic paintwork with the interior unmarked seashell leather piped in dark blue with the headrests carrying the Rolls-Royce monogram and fold down vanity mirrors fitted for the rear passengers convenience. Traditional highly-figured burr walnut completes the opulent interior. Always garage-kept, the car is pristine inside and out with the story continuing with a simply immaculate under-bonnet area and gleaming V12 engine. This must be one of the highest-specification Extended Wheelbase Phantoms available. It appears new and reportedly drives like it.
2012 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:36177A historic model in the continuing history of the Rolls-Royce marque, the Phantom was the first all-new design to be introduced by the company following its takeover by BMW. Produced at a new factory near Goodwood in Sussex, the Phantom revived a great name from Rolls-Royce's past, which had always been synonymous with unrestrained luxury. In keeping with the tradition established by previous Phantoms, the newcomer was a very large motor car, outstretching the old Silver Seraph by 18 while boasting a radiator shell four inches taller. Priced at around £260,000 at time of launch, it was also 40% more expensive. While the body structure represented the ultimate in automotive technology, its accoutrements remained entirely traditional in choice of materials, consisting of the finest hide trim, genuine woollen carpets, and carefully selected wood veneers. This Phantom Coupé was originally registered by Rybrook Rolls-Royce as a demonstrator and was specified in this stunning colour combination of Metropolitan Blue with Seashell extended leather interior. The car was purchased by the vendor in 2013 and has been cherished ever since, maintained regardless of cost and presented in absolutely immaculate condition. The original specification includes the all-important starlight leather headlining, Piano black veneer, 21" fully polished alloy wheels, automatic soft close doors and boot lid, two Rolls-Royce door umbrellas, front and rear parking cameras, garage door opener, 15 speaker premium surround sound, active cruise control, sat nav, Bluetooth, ambient interior lighting, heated seats and automatic Spirit of Ecstasy. Quite simply, this car is the very height of luxury, there is nothing aside from a private jet which would be better appointed for a journey to the south of France.Further cementing just how fastidious the vendor is, the car had over £12,000 of paintwork in 2018, just to bring it up to the standard he desired, attending to any stone chips which had been picked-up over the preceding years. A further £8,205 was spent in 2021, attending to rubber seals around the windows, doors, wings, arch clips and so on, the car now must be seen to be fully appreciated. These cars are sure to go down as one of the most desirable modern Rolls-Royce's in years to come, produced in such small numbers and beginning to look even better with age, this example would be the perfect addition to any collection of significant cars.

It used special head gaskets even though the standard compression ratio of 9.0:1 and standard camshaft were retained. The X-Pack was also equipped with a wing as standard and it featured unique 7.5 x 13" wheels, for which a special body kit was made. The X-Pack included a free-flowing performance exhaust system with distinctive flattened rear ends. The CL continued to follow the same development cycle as the S, although riding on a shorter wheelbase and sharing the same engines albeit with less choice as only the higher-output power trains were offered. CL coupés come equipped with the very latest in Mercedes-Benz technology and, along with the S-Class saloons, the CL coupés received all new technological features. This luxury Mercedes-Benz from Japan gives S-Class equipment with coupé looks and pillarless lines. Powered by a 5.0 litre V8, this epitome of German engineering presents in metallic silver with a black leather interior. The car comes with service history from Mercedes in Japan from new until 2012, since the car was imported to the UK in Late 2015 it has been virtually unused and dry stored with two oil services despite only having covered around 400 miles in the last seven years. This particular example presents excellently with little sign of the wear many other 996's suffer from, the body work is clean and the seat bolsters good perhaps due to having had just five previous owners. Recently fully serviced by Porsche Torque, this car has also had a bore scope test and shows no evidence of burning oil. The service booklet shows a further 10 services from Specialist PorschePurchased new on 13th April 2002, some 20 years ago now, this example was specified with an uprated Bose sound system and cost £63,443. 1963 Morris 1100 Transmission: manualMileage:19637In 1962, a quite revolutionary new saloon was launched by BMC. With the codename ADO16 this new car was hot from the drawing boards of Alec Issigonis, who set out to design a larger and more sophisticated car which incorporated more advanced features and innovations, and the world-famous Italian design house Pininfarina. Offered in many guises by Innocenti, Morris, Riley, Wolseley, Vanden Plas and Austin, the ADO16 was truly universal in its appeal. In line with BMC's policy at the time, Austin badged versions of the ADO16 were built at Longbridge, whilst Morris and MG versions were assembled at Cowley.Originally registered on 13th June 1963, this lovely Morris 1100 presents in time warp condition and boasts just one former keeper, that first keeper until 2019. The Fiesta Yellow coachwork is in incredible order given its 60 years and the interior has a delightful patina which is certainly commensurate with such a low owner example, but for some tears in the driver seat which could be repaired it is in remarkable order. The chromework is very good and we are informed there has been no welding to the body presumably as the Morris 110 club member cherished this example. Supplied with a V5C registration document, we are informed the car was laid up between 2015 and 2019 prior to our vendor purchasing and recommissioning 823 FXM. The car is accompanied by a current MoT test certificate which is valid until 29th March 2024 with no advisories, even though the car is MoT exempt. The history file includes the vehicle and workshop manuals. This is a fabulous opportunity to purchase an iconic piece of British motoring history.Guide £6,000-£10,000
1999 Maserati Quattroporte IV Evoluzione (3.2 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:23342Maserati launched its first Quattroporte back in 1963 and has continued to make a version of this luxury four-door sports saloon ever since. The fourth-generation model came out in 1994 and was the first Maserati to be produced under new owners Fiat, who had bought this illustrious Italian marque from Alejandro de Tomaso in 1993. An evolution of the Biturbo platform, the Quattroporte IV was styled by Marcello Gandini (of Lamborghini Miura and Countach fame) and featured his signature slashed rear wheel arch design which had first been seen on the Countach and later on the Maserati Shamal. Initially powered by the 280bhp twin-turbo 24-valve 2.8 V6 from the Ghibli, the Quattroporte IV got the flagship Shamal engine in 1996, a 336bhp twin-turbo 3.2 V8 which gave it blistering performance, 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 168mph. A Getrag six-speed manual gearbox came as standard, but a more town-friendly ZF four-speed automatic was also available as an option. This excellent, rare right hand drive, 1999 Maserati Quattroporte IV has only covered 23,400 miles from new which is supported by comprehensive service history. The last recorded service with the cambelts changed was with Autoshield at 23,176 miles in November 2021, this was done for the current owner who purchased the car in June 2021. Since that service the car has covered less than 200 miles. 2015 Ford Mustang 5.0 Litre Transmission: manualMileage:4298The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan in March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history, with the original Mustang selling over one million units in its first eighteen months alone. After five previous generations diluting the original 'Pony car', the sixth-generation arrived in 2013 to widespread consideration that Ford has perhaps returned the Mustang to its glory days. The sixth-generation Mustang was unveiled on December 5th, 2013, in Dearborn, Michigan, New York, Los Angeles, California; Barcelona, Spain, Shanghai, China; and Sydney, Australia, with the internal project code name; S-550, with three engine options available: a newly developed 2.3 litre EcoBoost with 310bhp, a 3.7 litre 300bhp V6, or the 5.0 litre Coyote 435bhp V8 with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. A new independent rear suspension system was developed specifically for the new model. It also became the first factory version designed as a right hand drive export model to be sold overseas through Ford new car dealerships in right hand drive markets. After the much beloved TVR brand had finally been bought back by a group of business minded car enthusiasts keen to revive the once glorious TVR name, they set about designing a car that would not only start a new chapter in the brand's history, but also ensure its longevity to hopefully compete with all the other top supercar manufacturers going forward. With this in mind they hired non-other, than the great Formula 1 champion race car designer and designer of the legendary F1 road car, Gordon Murray. A design concept was agreed and a new car penned. As part of the development of the new car, TVR needed a test mule to develop their ECU settings along with a myriad of other electric necessities. The engine the new car was to run was the same as in the newly released Ford Mustang. With that a brand new V8 engined Mustang was ordered from Ford and imported to the UK for Murray to experiment with. Offered here is that car, a unique piece of British automotive history and one which has just been recommissioned after a period in storage with a fresh MoT test certificate put on it. The car retains interesting features such as the additional wiring loom installed by Gordon Murray Automotive for added sensors and data collection as well as an emergency power cut red button in the cabin! Ready to be enjoyed, this 5.0 litre brute of a car is reported to run and drive very well and to be quite rapid making a fantastic noise.Supplied with a V5C registration document, MoT test certificate valid until August 2024 and import papers along with correspondence from Gordon Murray Automotive to the DVLA. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of history from the return of the UK's most outlandish car brand!Guide price £18,000 - £28,000Interested parties should note that that on start-up there is an fault code that reads ‘Misfire during start up’. No misfire is actually detected and the car runs and drives as it should. Once started the fault code can be cleared but returns upon its next cold start. This is something to do with the development wiring Gordon Murrey Automotive installed confusing the ECU on start up.
1992 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II Limousine Transmission: automaticMileage:130895Before David Plastow left his senior position at Rolls-Royce following the take-over of Vickers plc, he had been responsible for a series of models, amongst which was the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. It was unveiled in October 1980 as a replacement for the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. The coachwork of the Silver Spirit had been designed at the in-house styling centre by Fritz Feller and gave the impression of being stretched in comparison with the bodies of the previous generation. Direct comparison, however, showed only small differences. The new models had slightly grown in length and width; height had been cut a little, although the styling was more modern than that of its predecessor. The interior was dominated by the expected combination of fine wood and sumptuous leather and it was also the first Rolls-Royce to be fitted with a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy. This imposing Rolls-Royce is an extended limousine example and features three rows of seats and six doors. This impressive Silver Spirit was registered in January 1992 and has been mainly used by an independent funeral directors. Photographic evidence is available of the restoration, however work carried out includes a complete respray to a high standard, new water pump, alternator, brake discs and pads, cambelt replacement and changing of the oil and filter. More recently the oil and filter has been changed again and the car was MoT'd in June 2023. Invoices totaling some £23,000 accompany this MR2 confirming this is one of the best examples to be found. Some detailing of the engine bay and tidying of the rear boot would make this the best Toyota MR2 we have seen. Supplied with a V5C registration document, together with an MoT test certificate valid until 14th June 2024, the original service books, a comprehensive history folder and the original toolkit. Viewing is recommended to appreciate the quality of this Toyota MR2.
1936 Daimler E20 Saloon Transmission: manualMileage:80498The E20 was manufactured between 1935 and 1939. It offered the choice of a coachbuilt saloon, Sports Saloon, Fixedhead Coupé and Drophead Coupé bodies on a notably stiff box section chassis that featured integral lubrication and jacking systems. The model was powered by an OHV straight-six engine with output of 19.3hp - sufficient for a top speed of almost 70mph. This was mated to a four-speed pre-selector gearbox via Daimler's patented fluid flywheel. Suspension was by semi-elliptic springs and beam axles all round and braking by Girling servo-assisted drums. The total production of E20s was some 873, of which some 35 are known to have survived, making it a rare car today. Daimlers were the sole royal appointment cars up to 1950 and this magnificent 1936 example is very much in this tradition.Originally registered on 29th July 1936, according to the current owner, this Daimler E20 has only had two owners throughout its 80 years on the road and has covered the remarkably low mileage of 80,498. The vendor purchased the car in the early 1980's from the deceased estate of the first owner Mr Daubney, who became the chairman of the Daimler and Lanchester Owners Club. As part of a wedding hire fleet, it has been registered on the V5C registration document with a couple of other keepers but has been in his ownership since its purchase. The vendor is a very knowledgeable classic car enthusiast, and he has looked after the car exceedingly well, keeping it in a warm, heated environment. Space, comfort, luxury and visibility are offered in abundance with this vehicle. This totally original 1936 Daimler E20 is finished in regal black with midnight blue inserts and the original midnight blue leather interior, it is supplied with a V5C registration document and a MoT test certificate which expires in September 2024. This Daimler E20 offers a rare opportunity to purchase a delightful piece of British motoring history.
2004 Bentley Arnage R Transmission: automaticMileage:80000The Bentley Arnage was launched in 1998, a large luxury saloon car that replaced the previous Bentley Turbo saloon. Built by Bentley Motors in Crewe, England from 1998 to 2009, the Arnage and its Rolls-Royce sibling named the Silver Seraph, were introduced in the Spring of 1998 and were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980 when the Silver Spirit and Mulsanne models were introduced. In 2002, Bentley updated the Red Label as the series two Arnage R. This model was launched to contrast the Arnage T, which was developed to be a sportier variant. The Arnage R features two Garrett T3 turbochargers fitted to the engine as with the RL. Bentley quote the Arnage R as being an unrivalled example of the Grand Touring philosophy, making every journey a unique experience of power, luxury and control. A place where two very different worlds are perfectly united. Tradition and technology in absolute harmony.Finished in deep blue with a full luxurious cream leather interior, this facelift Bentley Arnage R was first registered on 23rd August 2004 and has been owned by our vendor, a private gentleman, since 2017. The car recently competed a 1,000 mile UK trip without fault and we are informed it drives beautifully. Recent expenditure of more than £10,000 over the past 24 months with Stewart Walker Bentley & Rolls Royce after previous maintenance with Jack Barclay in Mayfair shows a no expense spared philosophy to maintenance. Comprehensively serviced by main dealer and specialists, the car had new OEM tyres fitted just last year and we are told has cold air conditioning, picnic tables and two Bentley umbrellas, indeed a lovely car, one of the last made by hand in crew Crewe. This is a wonderful luxury saloon car that to this day oozes understated class while still offering effortless power, the only question is drive or be driven?
1973 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible by Karmann Transmission: manualMileage:99852The VW Beetle is a true icon of 20th Century motoring and occupies a significant position in the minds and hearts of drivers and enthusiasts across the globe. The Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform anywhere in the world with over 21 million cars produced between 1938 and 2003. The VW Beetle has seduced many a first time buyer, collector and classic car enthusiast. And for obvious reasons; the parts network is comprehensive and inexpensive, the ability to convert the base model into many different variants was always available and the cost of the car itself presented a gateway into classic car ownership. This example was registered new in 1973 and was imported into the UK in December 1990. The Beetle has had two owners since being imported into the UK, the first of which treated the Volkswagen to a colour change to black, converted it to right hand drive and registered the car as a historic vehicle. The current keeper has maintained the car when necessary with notable work including extensive welding to the chassis and inner wings in 2019. Presented in black coachwork over a red leather interior and black hood. The hood is in good condition and the Fuchs style alloy wheels complement the Volkswagen very well indeed. The interior is in good order and the paintwork retains a deep shine although there are some age-related blemishes. In current ownership since 2017 the Volkswagen comes with a history file detailing previous maintenance documents, sundry bills, old MoT test records and the current V5C registration document. What better way to enjoy the summer than in a 1600cc Volkswagen Beetle convertible!
1985 Jaguar XJ-SC (3.6 litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:26743The Jaguar's XJS was launched in 1975, its twenty one year production life was a testimony to the excellence of its basic design. With all round independent, coil sprung suspension, power assisted rack and pinion steering and disc brakes, its excellent ride/handling balance was justly praised by the contemporary motoring press. The XJS's original 5.3 litre developed some 295bhp in later fuel injected form and when allied to automatic transmission gave authoritative 150mph performance but did suffer from very bad fuel consumption. Many would argue the 3.6 litre AJ6 unit is the sweet spot, with ample power and far better fuel economy. The targa element of the XJ-SC was often preferred over the straight convertible as it added more torsional rigidity and so increased performance. This example is a true piece of Jaguar history, it is a pre-production XJ-SC built in 1983 in left hand drive form, then converted to right hand drive by the factory before being delivered to its first owner. Benefitting from the Getrag five-speed manual gearbox, this example is a true driver's car, quite opposite to its V12 powered automatic siblings and offers a very different driving experience. Having covered less than 27,000 miles from new, this XJ-SC presents in very impressive condition throughout and comes to auction with an MoT test certificate valid until September 2024 and is supplied with a comprehensive history file. Although the car is photographed with its factory rear hardtop, the folding rear section is included.
1988 Austin Mini 1000 Transmission: automaticMileage:33320The Mini was made by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960s; with its space-saving, front-wheel drive layout, allowing 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage. This influenced a generation of car makers, and in 1999, the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T. This distinctive, two-door car was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, and was manufactured at the Longbridge and Cowley plants. The Mini Mk. I had three major UK updates; the Mk. II, the Clubman and the Mk. III. Within these were a series of variations, including an estate car, a pick-up and a van. The Mini Cooper and Cooper 'S' were sportier versions, and made successful racing cars, winning the Monte Carlo Rally four times from 1964 through to 1967. Initially, Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names; as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor, until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969.This remarkably well kept Mini 1000 City automatic has been well cared for throughout its life, covering only 33,320 miles from new. Our vendor, Mr. Warner purchased this example in November 1989 which was under a year after the first owner, a Mrs Smith, had purchased new from the Austin dealership. The interior trim and headlining are in very good order and the Russet Brown paintwork is certainly a credit to the car. Accompanying this vehicle is an impressive history file, including every MoT test certificate from new, as well as a wealth of servicing and repair bills. Original handbooks and owner's manual can also be found along with a V5C registration document and MoT test certificate valid until January 2024. Having been garaged and well looked after by our vendor for some 34 years, this is a collector's example with a history to support its place as a true classic Mini.Guide Price £7,000-£10,000
1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Transmission: manualMileage:65The Ford Mustang was the brainchild of Lee Iacocca and was branded as the first 'Pony Car', it was born out of a need to compete with the flood of European sports cars coming into the USA in the sixties. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9th 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on April 17th 1964. The Mustang was only available as a hardtop coupé and convertible until September 1964, it was the fastback that drew the interest of Carroll Shelby which extended the iconic reach of the Ford Mustang and firmly put it into the category of motoring legends. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and became a popular car to customise, from engine upgrades to racing stripes, no two Mustangs are often found the same. Ford kept the Mustang relatively cheap with a list price of $2,368, making the car extremely popular. This Mustang is an extremely desirable manual transmission fastback, painted in stunning Ivy Green, which was only available on the 1965 model year. The car was manufactured in Dearborn Michigan in May 1965 and fitted with the optional C-code 200bhp Windsor 289ci V8. The car was also specified with a limited-slip-differential and the special handling package. The original owner of the car was so fond of it that they kept it until circa 2003. The car arrived in the UK in 2004 and is now with only its second owner on UK shores, making it a three-owner car from new. The engine was rebuilt in 1983, only around 7,000 miles ago, some bodywork was also carried out at the same time. The gearbox was rebuilt less than 3,000 miles ago, the clutch and flywheel were also both replaced around the same time. New rear shocks were fitted in 2021 and the tyres were upgraded to modern radials in 2022, with geometry adjusted at the same time to suit. The general impression of this Mustang is one that suggests a large amount of originality, the car is nicely patinated and is perfect to be used and enjoyed as it sits, without the fear of ruining a box fresh show quality restored example. The only modification on the car, is the set of Minilite wheels, except for that, the car is completely standard throughout.
1982 Lancia Montecarlo Transmission: manualMileage:52225The Lancia Beta Montecarlo is a mid-engined sports car which was produced from 1975 through to 1982. Cars from 1975 to 1978 were known as a Lancia Beta Montecarlo and the latter cars produced from 1979 to 1982, were simply known as Lancia Montecarlo. Both series were offered in coupé and spider versions and were constructed by Pininfarina. The total production amounted to 3,835 first series Beta Montecarlo's and 1,940 second series, of which only 172 cars were right hand drive coupés.This particular example presents in largely original condition. The vendor had the aim to sympathetically refresh the car, retaining as much of the original paint as possible. The car had some repairs to the sills and outer door skins earlier in its life but on the whole, our vendor was so impressed with the condition of the car when he saw it, he decided to buy it. The interior presents in fantastic condition, showing it has clearly been in the hands of enthusiasts for its whole 41 years and 52,000 miles. Our vendor has spent a reasonable amount of money on the car whilst in his ownership, the largest invoice coming from Freelance Motors in Devon in 2018. The work carried out came to a total cost of £1,945.48, for work consisting of a Guy Croft racing exhaust, which gives a lovely tone without being too shouty. Other work included a wheel alignment, big end shells, sump replacement, front and rear springs, suspension poly-bushing, front shock absorber, a thorough service and various gaskets and mountings. The car has also been cared for by Darren Cooksey, who is hugely knowledgeable on Lancia Montecarlo's. He did a timing belt change, fuel pump change and recent carburettor rebuild, along with various other small jobs. This Montecarlo is an excellent example, which our vendor has enjoyed using regularly in the summer months and sometimes even uses it to commute to work. He reports the car is always a joy to drive.Guide price: £10,000-£15,000
1971 Alpine A110-1647, Rally, Sprint and Hillclimb car Transmission: manualMileage:67087Automobiles Alpine was founded by Jean Rédélé in 1955. In 1964 they licenced a company in Mexico to manufacture their designs under the name DinAlpin and launched a 1,296cc competition version of the A110 in 1967. The next year an accord was signed with Renault which saw the Renault diamond badge added to the bonnet and the brand name changed to Alpine Renault. This A110 A1300 was manufactured in 1971 as a 1,296cc Berlinette, one of the 693 DinAlpins built in Mexico. 1973 saw Alpine win the First World Rally Championship with the "Group 4" 1,596cc variant and in 1976 Alpine Renault added their 1,647cc engine to form the A110 1600SX on which this car is now modelled. This Alpine was imported into Spain as an A110-1300, converted to Group 4 specification and set-up for Rallies, Hill climbs and Sprints being frequently driven over the last 10 years by husband and wife team Andy and Liz Owler. The specification includes a four-speed gearbox, low ratio differential, heated windscreen, front radiator, competition exhaust, quick steering rack and Cibié spotlights front and rear. Six-point safety harnesses are fitted as is a Terratrip distance recorder, an FIA roll-cage and Koni adjustable shock absorbers all round. UK registered in 2013 it is supplied with an MSA competition logbook together with a V5C registration document and current MoT test certificate valid until 20th August 2024. The knowledgeable and enthusiastic vendor advises that this A110 runs well, with the 1,647cc engine, on twin Weber DCOE 40 carburettors, producing brisk performance in a car that is well set-up for competition use. Finished in Alpine Renault works colours of black and yellow with a black interior, this car caries the livery similar to that worn by the Famous #7, winner of the 1976 "Tour de Corse" as seen recently at Goodwood! Notable is that the livery and graphics have been painstakingly painted on and are not "stickers". This Alpine A110 wants for nothing, is on the button, ready for use in competition or as a great road car! A very capable yet forgiving car in the right hands.
1978 MG B Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:98486Conceived in the late 1950s and launched in 1962, the MGB would turn out to be one of the most successful sports cars of all time. Attractively styled, cheap to run and easily maintained by the home mechanic, the 'B' carried on MG's traditional role of providing affordable, sports car motoring for the ordinary enthusiast. The MGB was mechanically similar to the preceding MGA, though with a heavier, unitary construction bodyshell. To compensate for the newcomer's increased weight the existing B-Series engine was stretched from 1,622 to 1,798cc, while the MGB's aerodynamically efficient lines made the most of the maximum available 95bhp to achieve a top speed which just bested the magic 'ton'. A 'right first time' design that changed little over the years apart from the adoption of a more robust five-main-bearing engine in 1965 (fitted from the start of GT production that autumn) a minor facelift for 1970 and the adoption of plastic bumpers (to comply with US legislation) for 1975, the 'B' enjoyed an 18 year production life and sales totalling in excess of 500,000 cars. Its popularity remaining undiminished today, the classic MGB is one of the easiest sports cars of its era to run and maintain in the 21st Century, being served by a worldwide industry of spare parts and service providers.Originally registered on 1st September 1978, this MGB is finished in Blaze with a black interior. Having had only two owners from new, this Roadster has covered a little over 2,000 miles per year throughout its 45 years on British roads. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a large history file, this MGB is a great way into classic car motoring for a modest outlay. Maintenance on these cars is relatively simple and the marque is very well supported by the Owners' Club. A pretty British sports car which never loses appeal.Guide £4,500-£6,000
1965 Alfa Romeo 2600 Touring Spider Transmission: automaticMileage:51335The Alfa Romeo 2600 (designated 106 series) was Alfa Romeo´s six-cylinder flagship model produced from 1962 through to 1968. It was the successor to the Alfa Romeo 2000 and has become historically significant as the last Alfa Romeo to have been fitted with an inline six-cylinder engine and having twin overhead camshafts which had been the traditional Alfa Romeo engine configuration since the 1920's. The 2600 models were first introduced in 1962 in Berlinetta (saloon), Sprint (coupé) and the Spider (convertible) forms. Alfa Romeo only produced 2,255 of the 2600 Spiders between 1962 and 1965. Even rarer are the right hand drive models manufactured in 1964; an example of which is offered here today.Originally registered to main agents, Mangoletsi, Knutsford, before being sold to its first owner in April 1965, this 2600 Spider was later acquired by an enthusiast and Alfa Romeo club member in 1979. Later handed down to his son, the Alfa was retained in storage until a sympathetic restoration was undertaken by Brookside garage between 1991 and 1993, totalling a cost in excess of £30,000. The car was taken off the road in 1999 and placed in storage once more where it remained until its recent surfacing. This wonderful barn find is offered with a sizeable history file containing the original buff logbook, a restoration photo album, club magazines and documentation, the original service book stamped in 1966, Brooksides 1991 restoration quotation, original sales brochures, manuals and previous MoT test certificates. With the elegant coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, this example offered without reserve boasts its original registration number and also comes complete with its factory hardtop.
1960 BMW Isetta 300 Transmission: manualMileage:The Isetta is an Italian-designed microcar built under licence in a number of different countries including Germany and the United Kingdom. Produced in the post war years, at a time when cheap, short distance transportation was most needed, it became one of the most successful and influential city cars ever created. Because of its egg shape and bubble-like windows, it became known as a 'bubble car'; a name then later given to other similar vehicles. The Isetta was, in 1955, the world's first mass-produced car and was the top-selling single-cylinder car in the world with a total of 161,728 units sold. BMW made the Isetta its own, redesigning most of the car so much so that none of the parts between a BMW Isetta Moto Coupé and an Iso Isetta could be interchangeable. While it retained the 'Bubble Window' styling, the BMW version differed from the Italian model in that the headlamps were fixed separately to the sides of the bodywork and it carried the BMW badge below the windscreen. This particular example was assembled in the United Kingdom in 1960 and was purchased by our vendor in 1968, it was used regularly for the next 15 or so years, before being laid up in storage in the early 80's, where it has stayed ever since. Our vendor was a part of the Isetta owners' club for a number of years, being hugely enthusiastic about these groundbreaking city cars, he remarked that this car served him exceedingly well for a number of years, he always garaged it throughout his ownershp and comments that it was rather popular with the ladies too. The car has been stored for around 40 years, so will require restoration, but it appears to have been stored well and has held up very well indeed. The car is supplied with a large folder of old Isetta owners' club correspondence, original parts lists, wiring diagram, 10th anniversary Isetta owners' club owner's manual, original buff logbook detailing previous owners, current V5C registration document and various other interesting pieces of history and spares. This example will prove to be a very exciting and rewarding project for someone and will be offered without reserve, so why not have a go?
1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster (3.8 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:17Launched at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type was nothing short of a revelation. With its heady blend of supercar performance, breathtaking styling and low-price tag, the newcomer left rivals reeling and customers clamouring. Early sportscar racing success at the hands of Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori amongst others helped cement its reputation. Built as a monocoque with a front sub-frame to cradle the engine, the model's combination of all-round independent suspension (torsion-bar front/coil-sprung rear) rack and pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes gave it excellent road holding and handling capabilities. Fed by triple SU HD8 carburettors and topped with a 'straight port' DOHC cylinder head, its indomitable 3781cc straight-six engine was quoted as developing some 265bhp and 260lbft of torque. Allied to a four-speed Moss gearbox (with synchromesh on second, third and fourth), it reputedly enabled the E-Type to sprint from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and on to 150mph.This fabulous E-Type has been lovingly restored over a long period, the result is a beautiful example of a 'flat-floor' very early 3.8 roadster. Finished in the delightful colour combination of Golden Sand with Tan interior, no stone has been left unturned in this nut and bolt restoration. The matching number engine has been rebuilt, as has the Moss gearbox. The rear axle has been overhauled and a new clutch fitted. The brakes, suspension and hoses have all been replaced. The paintwork has been carried out to a very good standard as has the re-trim. Early E-Types have lots of unique features to later cars, the doors were built in three parts and the rear boot drain tubes in the centre to name a couple. Eagle eyed enthusiasts will note this car has outside bonnet locks on the bonnet. This feature was only on the first 500 cars manufactured, with the feature stopping on chassis number 875385 on the US specification roadsters. This car is 18 cars outside of that range, it is thought the bonnet locks were fitted at a later date. The vendor has applied for the car to be UK registered and it is hoped this will be completed prior to auction. This really is a stunning E-Type that has covered minimal mileage since its nut and bolt restoration and will therefore require a shakedown period, with minor adjustments and repairs expected for a few weeks.
1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:89889Although Cadillac had invented the tailfin in 1948, by the late 1950s, others were offering their own take on the theme. In fact, the 1959 Cadillac fins were a response by Cadillac to the 1957 Chrysler line, which had borrowed Cadillac's own idea and took it one step further. According to the late David Holls, former design director at GM, the famous fins of 1959 were the result of a directive from management that Cadillac would not be outdone by Chrysler products. There was little danger of that, as the 1959 Cadillac was a modern classic that truly represented the high point of the era of fins and flash. It was huge yet remarkably docile to drive, thanks to abundant power, a first-rate automatic transmission, and excellent power steering and brakes. No other car captured the essence of the Jet Age quite like the 1959 Cadillac. In addition to sharply swept and dramatically pointed fins, surface development was a series of curves, nacelles, and character lines that could have come from one of the new jet fighters of the time. Wheel covers carried a turbine wheel motif, and there were even vestigial ventral fins at the lower edge of each rear side, passing through the bumper skirts to merge into the massive rear bumper. This lovely 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible was imported to the UK in 1995. It was purchased from London by the current owner in 2018 and added to his collection of classic cars based in the West Midlands. During his ownership he has had the petrol tank replace and recently had the original red and white leather interior redressed. Finished in red with the original power hood, the car has the standard features of power assisted steering, power windows and features the iconic rear fins with the bullet rear lights. This Cadillac Series 62 is supplied with a V5C registration document and a MoT test certificate which expires in August 2024. No single automotive design better characterises the industry's late 1950s flamboyance than the 1959 Cadillac, which incorporated totally new styling. "“ Standard Catalogue of Cadillac, Ed. The Concept Eight was the first time that Jaguar had shown its new performance styling to the public and the reaction was so positive that many of its key design details, such as the eye-catching polished wheels, side power vents and Satin American Walnut trim, were soon to grace a special edition XJ produced for the USA and other key European and global markets. Both front and rear seats have variable heating and the driver's seat includes lumbar and cushion length power adjust with full memory function. To add to that unique performance feel, the XJR Portfolio also sports an aluminium J-gate gear lever surround and chrome and leather gear knob. The all-aluminium construction methods that Jaguar introduced with the latest generation XJ saloon in 2003 broke new ground in the volume automotive industry. Unlike other aluminium-bodied cars, the XJ family uses full stressed-skin monocoque construction including all the outer panels, is manufactured from aluminium. As a result, the XJR Portfolio is around 200kg lighter than before with significant benefits in performance, safety, economy and emissions performance. The XJR Portfolio's immense performance capabilities stem not just from its lightweight body but from its renowned 400bhp supercharged, 4.2 litre V8 engine. That excellent engine is matched by the superb six-speed ZF automatic transmission and gives an electronically limited maximum speed of 155mph and 0-60mph in exactly 5.0 seconds. This very nice example is presented in Midnight Metallic with an ivory leather interior, pressed aluminium dash, gear console surround and door cappings and is one of the 100 limited edition cars produced for the UK market. It comes with previous V5C registration documents, Press kit, sales brochure, previous MoT test certificates and service history. There is also a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and the wheels (with Heritage wheel centres) have been refurbished which included powder coating. The car also comes with its original bookpack which is complete, one set of keys, one chauffeur key and a first aid kit. These are rare, quick saloons which provide luxury and speed at a fraction of the cost today from when it was first manufactured.
2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 AMG Transmission: automaticMileage:99932At the start of the 1990s, after the introduction of their two-seat, grand-tourer R129 SL and the Mazda MX-5, Mercedes-Benz set out to create a new compact roadster, slotted below the SL. By late 1991, under Bruno Sacco, the first design sketches were drawn, with scale models being built in the first half of 1992. Massively successful in its first year, worldwide sales hit 55,000, over double the entire nine-year production of 190 SLs and between 1996 and 2004, over 311,000 SLKs were sold. 1955 Riley RME Transmission: manualMileage:51657Despite producing some fine small saloons and sporting cars while carving out an enviable competition record for itself during the early 1930s, Riley had lost its battle to remain independent and was part of the Nuffield Organisation by the decade's end. Rileys of the immediate post-war years were, nevertheless, recognisably products of the 'old firm'. Most popular of these was the 1.5 litre RMA sports saloon, which came with torsion bar independent front suspension, hydro-mechanical brakes and Riley's classic twin-camshaft, overhead-valve engine in four-cylinder guise. An improved version, the RME, with fully hydraulic brakes appeared in 1952 and continued in production until 1955.This example of a late Riley RME was first registered on 4th January 1955 and is presented in Brunswick Green over black coachwork with complementary green leather trim. This lovely well-maintained example shows the perfect balance of patina with the 1.5 litre engine starting on the button when inspected. The car is accompanied by a wealth of paperwork from invoices to owners' club magazines and even spares. The front seats have been retrimmed but are very well matched to the original rear, the headlining and woodwork are also in very good order throughout. In 2018 the car underwent a £4,000 engine overhaul, and after his purchase in 2020 our vendor has continued to maintain and improve the car. This RME benefits from a new radiator and the history file demonstrates a new water pump kit and master cylinder in 2022. A reliable, solid example of the wonderful classic Riley which comes with a lovely history including original manuals, toolkit and invoices. 1995 Rolls-Royce Flying Spur Transmission: automaticMileage:18000The Rolls-Royce advertising logo of making the best cars in the world was certainly relevant when the Flying Spur model was launched. This model was not just the fastest or most expensive Rolls-Royce saloon to appear on the price list but was also the most exclusive, only produced for the 1995 model year, a total of 134 were produced, 92 in left hand drive and 42 in right hand drive being delivered from the factory in Crewe. Apart from the restriction in numbers produced it was the first Rolls-Royce with the turbo engine and was the most powerful model on the market at the time. The factory announced that although weighing in at 2387kg this model could propel itself to 60mph in a remarkable 6.9 seconds. This newly turbocharged engine also produced the greatest torque of any production car at the time and eclipsed even the McLaren F1 and Aston Martin Vantage. Essentially a Rolls-Royce with Bentley Turbo R running gear, the Flying Spur was more powerful and agile than a comparative Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III, on which the car was based on.This fantastic low mileage Flying Spur has covered a mere 18,000 miles and it was number 23 off the production line and was delivered to H.R. Owen Greenford on 25th January 1995 before being shipped to its first owner in Hong Kong later that year, the only year in which these cars were produced. The car is presented in Wildberry with a sumptuous Sandstone leather interior with Wildberry piping, lambswool rugs and accompanying silk privacy curtains, burr oak veneers and cocktail cabinet. Sitting in the rear 'as one should' is a real treat and should you require entertainment the inbuilt Sony VCR system can entertain you from the screens mounted in the headrests. Look up to the electronically operated sunroof, all options for which the car had to be sent to Rolls-Royce in house coachbuilders, Mulliner Park Ward to fit alongside the touring limousine rear window and rear blind. It is an open secret that the rejected leather from Rolls-Royce went to their competitor Bentley, which underlines once again what perfectionist Rolls-Royce were and this example is no exception. The woodwork was often sanded for a week to get it to the right level and the interior of any Flying Spur clearly provides a nod as to their targeted audience, those of significant wealth or notoriety and despite attempts the elusive previous owner is yet to accept our vendors invitation to be named. Options specified from the factory beyond the coachbuilt items also include adjustable rear seats, chrome door mirrors, uprated infotainment, veneered picnic tables, passenger airbag and rear quarter badges to name a few which can all found on the Rolls-Royce order sheets contained within the history file. Our owner and Rolls-Royce collector purchased this car in Hong Kong in late 2022 with the car imported to the UK earlier this year. All be it in very good condition, when purchased it was then swiftly mechanically recommissioned the works carried out includes and is not limited to replacement of all six ball joints to the front (top, lower and damper), replaced caster arm bushes, all front brake calipers (two calipers on each side) serviced, seals renewed and all front brake pads have been replaced. Brake Lines have also been replaced as have the rear suspension spheres and rear damper hydraulic seals. An oil and filter change was then supplemented by new alternator and fan belts and new wiper blades. This example has since been detailed and UK registered with the V5C registration document present. The Flying Spur featured a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy, the spring-loaded mascot sank into the radiator shell, this along with the first turbo engine and a host of Mulliner Park Ward coachbuilt options makes what we believe to be a very collectable car. One of just 42 produced in right hand drive and truly unique with a mysterious but clearly wealthy previous owner, viewing is strongly advised to appreciate the luxury which Rolls-Royce are famed for.
1968 Ford Mustang Fastback Transmission: automaticMileage:18133The Ford Mustang was the brainchild of Lee Iacocca and was branded as the first 'Pony Car', borne out of a need to compete with the flood of European sportscars coming into the USA in the sixties. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9th March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. Legendary Texan racing driver, Carroll Shelby had been campaigning Ford Mustangs with considerable success in America, winning the SCCA's production title three years running. Capitalising on his success, Shelby began manufacturing modified Mustangs, which were officially sanctioned by Ford and sold through selected dealerships. The first Shelby Mustang, the GT350, arrived in 1965 powered by a modified version of the Ford's 289ci, small block, V8 engine with a four-speed Borg Warner manual gearbox. This lovely 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback was import from Europe by a Swedish gentleman who had properties in both Sweden and the UK. Purchased by the current owner in 2021 and placed in his collection of American muscle cars, he only registered the car in the UK in June of this year. At some time, this Mustang has been gone through and up rated with a later 390GT big block V8 engine married to an automatic gearbox. Finished in silver with a burgundy interior, this very good Mustang Fastback is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in August 2024 and two sets of keys. This is a very useable Ford Mustang Fastback and is an ideal candidate for the possibility being rebuilt as a 'Eleanor' from the film 'Gone in 60 Seconds' or as a Steve McQueen 'Bullitt' recreation.
1982 Porsche 911 Targa Transmission: manualMileage:104418The iconic 911 can trace its history back some 44 years; its family tree containing such memorable cars as the 911S, the 2.7 Carrera RS and the notorious Turbo. The landmark SC replaced all non-Turbo 911s, first being presented to the general public at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring 7Jx16 Fuchs rear rims and flared wings, it was offered in either Coupé or Targa form. Power came from the three litre Carrera engine, detuned to 180bhp and a five-speed 915 transmission. This was still good enough to return a 0-60mph time of 6.4 seconds and would propel the car on to a maximum of 144mph.Originally registered on 1st January 1982, this Porsche Targa presents in delightful condition. The coachwork is virtually unmarked as is the black and grey interior. Clearly this has been a very well looked after example, as confirmed by the significant history folder. The fastidious private owner talks with enthusiasm about this 911 Targa and clearly, he will be sad to see it go. We are advised NCF 681X drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 25th June 2024 and a good history folder, this Porsche is a great example of the fast appreciating 1970's and 1980's 911.
1961 Ford Zephyr 6 Mk. II Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:75472The Zephyr was first displayed at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1950. The Mk. I Zephyr and Zodiac were the first British cars to use the MacPherson strut independent front suspension in mass production. The Mk. II Zephyr and Zodiacs had shared the same body as the new Zodiac and Zephyrs launched in 1962 but shared very few body panels thereafter. The Mk. II range was much more popular. A useful modernisation of the original car, the Mk. II added fins and chrome to the equation as well as more interior room. Ford's advertising referred to them as the 'Three Graces', implying a feminine and graceful nature. There is no doubt that the performance of the Zephyr and the Zodiac Series II models was restricted by the rudimentary exhaust system, but with a well-known, Raymond Mays complete engine conversion, it boosted their performance figures. Autocar Magazine recorded a standing quarter mile of 17.6s in 1957. As well as a three-speed manual gearbox, there was an optional overdrive and from 1956 a Borg Warner DG automatic transmission. At first, drum brakes were fitted all round but front discs became optional in 1960 and standard from mid 1961. A convertible with overdrive was tested by The Motor magazine in 1961; it had a top speed of 88.3mph and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 17.0 seconds. The test car list price was £1,193.This delightful Zephyr 6 Convertible is in very good condition and is offered in Caribbean Turquoise over Dover White with matching trim. The car was restored in 2005 according to invoices contained within the history file. This car and a sister car were used by ZZ Cars for weddings and events throughout the 2000's before being sold to a Ford enthusiast in 2014. This three-speed manual example with optional overdrive also boasts a continental kit; this can be seen at the rear of the car, giving the Zephyr that iconic American look that was so sought after throughout the 1960's. The gearbox was rebuilt in 2016 and the car has been lovingly cherished by the vendor, always garaged and well cared for. More recently, the car has been garaged and cared for by the vendor and in 2016, he had the gearbox rebuilt. The manually operated roof is in good order and complements the fabulous look of the car. The Zephyr was an icon of British motoring at the time and they are widely recognised as a highly sought after classic marque.
2004 Porsche 911 / 996 Turbo S Transmission: manualMileage:61800The 996 model is a superb car; quick, reliable, well-made and representing the birth of the water-cooled 911. With a wide range of models on offer, the most iconic is, of course, the Turbo. Featuring four-wheel drive and a 3.6 litre, intercooled engine derived from the 1998 Le Mans winning GT-1 car pushing out 420bhp and hitting 60mph in a whisker over four seconds, this is genuine supercar territory. The 996 was seen as a more relaxed and usable 911; however, in Turbo guise, the driver would get the best of both worlds; a luxury leather interior with every creature comfort combined with the ability to drop the hammer and reach a top speed of a claimed 190mph. In 2002, the X50 package was offered as an option on the Turbo that included larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers, a revised ECU and quad-pipe exhaust which raised power output to 444bhp, however in 2005, Porsche introduced the Turbo S model available as either a coupé or cabriolet. The Turbo S was essentially a 996 turbo with the X50 option but also included PCCB, six-disc CD changer and aluminium-faced instruments. Worldwide production for the 996 Turbo S (including both Coupé and Cabriolet) was 1,563 cars. This makes this model very limited in numbers.A collectable and rare example of the 911 presented in Artic Silver with contrasting black leather trim, this example of the iconic Turbo S was first registered on 4th October 2004. Originally a Porsche Press car and featured in magazines, copies of which can be found in the history file. Costing when new a shade under £100,000, this example has covered a mere 61,800 miles and presents well for a privately owned example. Importantly, a manual example of the ultimate incarnation of the 996 Turbo, this is one of just 1,563 units produced of a desirable Turbo S boasting the X50 engine and believed to be one of less than 60 UK manual cars. Upon inspection it was advised the car would benefit from new tyres and a wheel refurbishment, but our vendor has sensibly taken this into account when pricing the car allowing a new owner to adorn the Turbo S with their own choice. The bodywork and trim are all in very good order and the car recently obtained an MoT test certificate which is valid until July 2024 with the only advisories regarding tyre wear. The car boasts just six former keepers in its 19 years along with the original magazine from its use a press car and a large folder of paperwork and invoices. We are informed the car drives very well and is still eye wateringly fast as it should and, as a flagship Turbo S made at the end of the 996 generation's life, comes with the X50 option pack as factory standard. This includes larger turbochargers and intercoolers that propel the car to 60mph in four seconds and combined with Porsche's excellent stability control, makes for a sensational and satisfying drive. This stunning example is an ideal usable modern classic investment that can be fully enjoyed at a fraction of the original cost.
1995 Bentley Brooklands Transmission: automaticMileage:68315By the end of the 1980s, Rolls-Royce's rebranding of Bentley which begun in 1982 with the launch of the Mulsanne Turbo had proved an outstanding success. However, the sales graph that had climbed steadily upwards until reaching a peak in 1989 only to plunge dramatically because of economic recession. Rolls-Royce responded by dropping the normally aspirated Mulsanne and Eight models and introduced the Brooklands in 1992. It was intended as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Bentley Turbo R, featuring the same styling and underpinnings of the Rolls-Royce 6.75 litre, V8 engine but without the more powerful model's turbocharger. It also retained the R's sport suspension and adaptive damping control. First seen in the Continental R, the Brooklands' new four speed automatic transmission boasted a floor-mounted shift lever, in keeping with the marques sporting traditions. The Brooklands continued Bentley's design theme which was also used on contemporary Rolls-Royce vehicles throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. The exterior design featured the classic Bentley grille as well as dual headlights with wrap-around parking lights. The interior remained relatively unchanged from previous Bentley models but with a more curvaceous design element surrounding the leather-wrapped centre console. This very good, relatively low mileage, 1995 Bentley Brooklands was supplied by Hadley Green Garage, Barnet, Hertfordshire and was maintained by them for the first 32,000 miles up to 1997. It was then maintained by Straight Eight to 54,750 miles and last serviced by them in 2002. Then serviced by Stewart Walker in 2007 at 61,425 miles and again in 2011 at 63,688 miles. Purchased by the previous owner in 2000 who kept the car in his collection for nearly twenty-three years, it was purchased by the current owner and put into his collection of classic cars in Hampshire. Finished in Peacock Blue with a blue leather interior piped in magnolia, this lovely Bentley Brooklands is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in January 2024, a complete handbook pack including the service book and a set of blue over rugs. This Brooklands offers outstanding value for money given the eyewatering cost when new.
1986 BMW E28 M535i Transmission: manualMileage:109566The E28 BMW 5-Series, released in September 1981, was BMW's breakthrough executive saloon. Designed by the iconic BMW designer Claus Luthe, the E28 was initially sold with a combination of four and six-cylinder engines, but in 1984 BMW revealed the very first M5 at the Amsterdam motor show. When it was launched 42 years ago, the new BMW E28 5-Series looked like little more than a facelifted BMW E12 5-Series, a car that had been around since 1972. The E12 had earned itself a fine reputation as a well-made, mid-range saloon that ranged from the 518 to the hot-rodded 528i and M535i.The E28 5-Series range started with the 518, powered by a 90bhp four-cylinder known by its M10 engine code. A 518 with optional five-speed gearbox and power steering was next up the chain, followed by six-cylinder cars, all with five speeds and PAS, with the 125bhp M20 520i and 150bhp M30 525i, plus the 184bhp M30 528i with standard alloy wheels and electric front windows. A three-speed ZF automatic box was optional on all six-cylinder cars as well. The 535i came in two forms, the M535i with the plastic bodykit (bumpers, sills and arch spats) and special metric wheels, plus a metal-bumper version that looked like most other models but had the same special wheels and arch spats. Both models had the Bilstein dampers and M Technic suspension. The M535i was by far the more popular model; the metal bumper version was discontinued but remained available to special order and was renamed 535i SE. This is an exceptional unmolested example of the super cool E28 M535i with the all-important dog leg first gearbox. We are informed the car has led a very gentle life and has been maintained exceptionally well by the fastidious owner while sitting on original old stock E28 M5 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. The Diamond Black bodywork is beautiful after a significant body restoration costing in excess of £10,000, all the floors are solid and jacking points excellent. The invoices for recent maintenance are endless but include, a new master cylinder, accumulator, bushes, exhaust, shock absorbers, viscous fan, front brake calipers, rear main seal, new control arms, plus much more. Boasting a great specification including electric sunroof, rear head rests, on board computer, head light wash wipe, rear blind and a Blaupunkt Bremen radio to give you the period look but with modern functionality. Present is a great service history with ample service and parts invoices, original dealer plates and the vendor who has owned the car for the last four years assures us it drives faultlessly and is ready to enjoy and impress at any car show. The original full book pack is there with original dealer cards and service book. With an MoT test certificate valid until March 2024, this is a very well 'sorted' and exceptionally well presented example of one of the 80's most iconic cars. * Interested parties should note that the private registration plate shown is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead
2000 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph Transmission: automaticMileage:43000Unveiled in March 1998, the Silver Seraph replaced the Silver Spur. All Seraphs were hand built at the Rolls-Royce factory in Crewe, England, which stopped making Rolls-Royce models in 2002 but continued with Bentley. The car had a base price of £155,175 in the UK and was powered by a 5.4 litre, aluminium alloy, BMW V12 engine making it the first twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce since the 1939 Phantom III. Standard electronics included digital engine management, adaptive ride control and anti-lock brakes and, aside from the radiator grille, badges and wheels, the Rolls-Royce was externally identical to the contemporary Bentley Arnage sharing both its platform and bodyshell. Inside, the Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage were similar but quite distinct from one another. In the Seraph, the gear selector was column mounted, and the gauges followed a traditional Rolls-Royce layout (for example, there was no tachometer). In both cars, the seats and dashboard were upholstered in Connolly leather and glossy burr walnut veneer and featured folding picnic trays for rear passengers. This superb, later example of this truly luxurious model is presented in probably the best colour combination of Fountain Blue metallic with a cream leather interior. It also has the white indicator lenses, front and rear parking sensors and 100mm extra leg room in the rear. The car has had four owners from new and the mileage is genuine, this is backed up by evidence of regular servicing by Bentley specialists (11 services altogether) with a service being carried out in May 2022 at 40,287 miles and more recently the present owner has spent circa £6000 with Edd Watson and Son specialists where it was serviced which entailed the brakes were replaced, nipples and tubing to brakes, oil filter changes and all fluids. The underneath of the car was cleaned and waxed, also the bodywork was cleaned and coated (£750). The car's interior is in excellent condition and it comes with four very good Avon whitewall tyres, and satellite navigation. It also has carpet footrests to the rear, adjustable steering column/wheel, air conditioning, in car entertainment (radio/CD autochanger), seat lumber support and heated seats front and rear. Interested parties should note that the private registration plate is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead. A new V5 registration document has been applied for with the DVLA which may not arrive by the time of the auction.
1979 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino Transmission: manualMileage:63000The 308 GT4 was a ground-breaking model for Ferrari in several ways; it was the first production Ferrari to feature the mid-engined V8 layout that would become the bulk of the company's business in subsequent decades and was the first production Ferrari to feature Bertone (rather than Pininfarina) bodywork. The GT4 was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in November 1973 and featured angular lines entirely different from its curvaceous two-seater brother, the Dino 246. The styling was controversial at the time with some journalists comparing it to the Bertone-designed Lancia Stratos and Lamborghini Urraco. It finally gained the 'Prancing Horse' badge in May 1976 which replaced the Dino badges on the bonnet, wheels, and the steering wheel. The chassis was based on the Dino 246 but was stretched to make room for the second row of seats. The overall cockpit design was considered futuristic matched by external wind-cheating bodywork. The desirability levels of these Ferraris are quietly ballooning with prices, quite rightly, following suit.Finished in the perfect combination of Rosso Chiaro 599. 5. 190 Salchi with Pelle Sabbia VM 3234 and Alcantara inserts, this example of the V8 308 GT4 Dino presents with beautiful originality. The car currently resides on brand new 16 Superformance original five-spoke design alloys in gold and is currently fitted with a 'quick' steering rack, the original is available with the car as are the original 14 wheels. An original right hand drive UK supplied example, this stunning Dino was subject to Classiche evaluation by Ferrari in 2009 and has been certified ever since. Since purchasing the car in 1985, the second owner had ensured that Graypaul Ferrari of Nottingham cared for the car continuously, earning and ensuring its ongoing Classiche status. Further to this yearly maintenance, Graypaul also bestowed on the car a full engine and gearbox rebuild, with clutch replacement, within the last five years. Complete with a wonderful box full of history including two large folders, Classiche folder, along with Ferrari parts catalogue and workshop manual, the original tools also accompanying the car. You would be hard pressed to find a better example, something Ferrari Classiche can certify to.
1969 Austin Mini Cooper S Transmission: manualMileage:The Austin Mini Cooper S Mk. II had a distinctive look that set it apart from other cars of its time. The car's handling was also exceptional, thanks to its front-wheel drive and nimble suspension system, making it a popular choice for racing enthusiasts. Overall, the Austin Mini Cooper S Mk. II was a car that was ahead of its time, offering impressive performance, exceptional handling, and a distinctive design that still looks great today. It has become a classic car, which is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.Purchased new by privateer rally driver Mr. Alfred Oetterli who used the car on many rallies and first registered it on 20th June 1969. Enjoyed for many years, this example was the vendors pride and joy and following his passing the car was registered to his wife in 2014 who has continued to use the car albeit less regularly. Offered to the open market for the first time since new it benefits from having recently been lightly recommissioned, although we would advise that further general work is undertaken before being used on regular basis. Accompanying the car is a sizeable history file detailing its one family owner history, various rally documents, previous registration documents, photos of the car in competition and the current V5C registration document. A fast road style car, fitted with roll cage, spotlights, and rally timing equipment. A very fun car with a one family owner history!Interested parties should note that the V5C registration document and HPi report show the car to be an Austin Mini Cooper S with the chassis number 'FE1353559' however archives show that this number refers to a Mini front end body number. The original chassis number of the car cannot be identified. The registration document special notes also read 'Rebuilt "“ Assembled from parts some or all of which were not new.' As a rally car many parts inevitably will have been replaced and rebuilt and any interested parties should satisfy themselves with this example prior to purchase.
