Extremely Rare 1924 British & I Lions Blue Jersey: Navy, with unique four nations crest and distinctive No. 7 to rear, from the tour to S Africa in 1924. Nearly 100 years old, but with only a little patchy fading, this is the first such we have seen in decades, and possibly ever? This was the jersey of the legendary Stanley Wakefield Harris CBE (13 Dec 1894 - 3 Oct 1973), versatile early 20th century sportsman regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders to have played for the British and Irish Lions. Playing for Blackheath, he represented England twice as a rugby union international in 1920 (1 try), and the British Lions in 1924 (2 tests, 1 try). He also turned down a place in the Great Britain Olympic squad in 1920, became a Ballroom Dancing champion, then South African boxing champion, was capped at tennis there having represented England in polo, and all in between serving with distinction in both the First and Second World Wars. He was born and died in S Africa, and clearly deserves to be remembered: how better than with this fine rare memorabilia? Some light lettering to number patch but overall very pleasing condition, especially for age and rarity. Comes with ephemera linked to the tour, authentication letters of both the jersey and a good Original S African Souvenir Photo Brochure of the Lions Tour 1924 and Clem/Greg Thomas' 'History of the Lions' with Harris mentioned. And the jersey…? 'Find me another…?!'

Responding to demands for more power, better handling and offers 5.5% more power than a standard car. It has enhanced suspension with andrex friction dampers at each wheel, thereby supplementing the Luvax Girling dampers. This gives the Mark II far better cornering over standard TD's. The compression ratio of 8.1:1 plays 7.25:1 of the standard car and the cylinder head has larger valves with heavier springs fed by twin SU H4 1.5'' carburettor, mounted to a modified inlet manifold. Fuel supply is via twin SU Pumps. The Mark II also has a 'faster' rear axle ratio and, latterly in the production run, the model got different distributer which altered the advance curve to better suit the higher compression ratio. Being a late car this TD Mark II enjoys all these improvements over the standard TD. 29,664 TD's were made between 1949 and 1953, of which just 1,710 were TD Mark II's. Of those 51 were sold in the UK and most of the rest were LHD and sold in North America. A surviving RHD UK car is therefor something of a Rarity. Mileage is unrecorded. There is no MOT history. with v5c. Finished in Pink with white interior, this vehicle is alleged to be the car owned by nightclub owner, Peter Stringfellow. It has lain unused for many years and would need quite a lot of work to go back on the road. The number plate is interesting but the car would need an MOT before that could be transferred. The Fiat 500 Gamine Vignale was a small two-seater roadster produced by Carozzeria Vignale from 1967 to 1971, based on the Fiat 500 platform using the two-cylinder air cooled engine from the 500 Sport. The idea of the Gamine came from a Monaco Fiat dealer principal - head of General Automobile Monégasque - which also led to the name. Some 400 examples were manufactured in two runs of 200 each. Rights to sell the cars in the UK were secured by Cypriot casino owner, Frixos Demetriou, who bought 200 cars up front, paying with cash, and committed to buy the next six months production if Vignale would manufacture the car in right-hand-drive form. The Gamine two-seater was well received, becoming trendy with the Chelsea set; even nightclub owner Peter Stringfellow owned one. However, the cars were quite prone to rust and mechanical issues and the enterprise was a failure. Frixos later died in a Gamine when it was run over by a tank in Cyprus.
