A pair of coloured prints of coaching scenes, mid 19th Century the first of a scene on the London to Portsmouth road, originally painted by J. Pollard, engraved by F. Rosenburgh, published 8th October 1830 by J. Watson, the second of a scene on the Brighton to Portsmouth road, 26x36cm, framed.
*A Rowley Gallery marquetry panel 'Italian Town', designed by Frank Brangwyn RA (1867-1956), executed by A J Rowley, inscribed to the panel and frame, labelled, 80.5cm wide 99.5cm high Even though the label is inscribed 'Italian Town', it actually depicts the fortress town of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie in the Lot Valley, which Brangwyn visited often on French painting trips and was a hub for artists such as Henri Martin. *Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot. The V&A's panel was first exhibited at the Sunderland Public Art Gallery in October 1920, priced at 20 guineas.
