Lot 399

The Beatles - a rare original concert programme for ' Little Richard At The Tower ', in which The Beatles were second billing. The concert took place at the Tower Ballroom, New Brighton on 12th October 1962. The event was organized by Brian Epstein’s company NEMS, and the concert was one of The Beatles' most important engagements to date - performing second on the bill to Little Richard. The programme features an orange and white cover, with a black and white photograph of Little Richard to the front. A large biography of Richard and accompanying photograph feature to the first page, and The Beatles to the next. An important piece of Beatles memorabilia.

Metropolis (1927) - Compulsion Gallery - an impressive large scale 82cm tall pewter effect resin statue of the Maschinenmensch from the early classic movie. The statue being a highly detailed replica model of the figure. Mounted on a shaped base with the film's title to the front ' Metropolis '. Original maker's label to reverse. Wonderful display piece. Metropolis is a 1927 German expressionist science-fiction drama film directed by Fritz Lang. Written by Thea von Harbou in collaboration with Lang, it stars Gustav Fröhlich, Alfred Abel, Rudolf Klein-Rogge and Brigitte Helm. The silent film is regarded as a pioneering science-fiction movie, being among the first feature-length movies of that genre.

The first bangle being a simple brass bangle, the second a carved soapstone bangle, the third a gold plated twist design and the final bangle being a silver plated adjustable example. Likely worn in one of Wyngarde's many TV / Film / Theatre appearances.

From The Collection of Isla Blair - Cecil Beaton (1904-1980) - two fantastic large format black and white photographs, taken by Beaton during the filming of ' A Flea In Her Ear ' (1968 Comedy starring Rex Harrison, Rosemary Harris and Isla Blair amongst others). Both photographs were taken during filming in Paris, 1967. The first depicting Isla Blair alone on the staircase, and the other featuring Isla alongside actor Victor Sen Yung. The photographs are neatly signed by Beaton to the corner of the mounts in red pencil ' Beaton ', and are further stamped to the reverse. Total size approx; 37.5cm x 46.5cm. A rare, likely unique, pair of photographs, and a special pair of items from Isla Blair's personal collection.

Black covered boards, with red heart motif and red titles to spine. No dust cover. Slight wear to top of spine, and a small pen annotation to the inside cover. Complete. Rare edition.

An incredibly rare and unique piece of cinema history - Patrick Swayze's personal reading script for the 1990 film ' Ghost '. The script runs to 129 printed pages, and identified as ' Revised First Draft ' with the date being 23rd June 1989 on the first page. Blue, pink and white pages represent revisions made on 13th and 21st July 1989 shortly before shooting began. The blue cover has the Paramount logo present and to the spine is written ' Ghost ' in marker pen. Obtained from Swayze's estate, the script comes with a certificate from Nate D. Sanders Auctions and a signed typed note from Lisa Niemi Swayze (Swayze's widow). Ghost was the highest grossing film of 1990 and cemented Swayze's career as a movie star after Dirty Dancing, and according to Niemi Swayze, Patrick put off reading the script for several months but was passionate about the project after finally reading it. A rare and important piece of cinema history.

The first featuring the carnival queen and the four Beatles, another featuring John Lennon and George Harrison, the carnival queen and one other lady, the third featuring George Harrison in the process of signing a programme and the final photograph featuring a standing George Harrison, a seated John Lennon holding a guitar and the Carnival queen. All 8x10" total size. Rare photos. Some believed unpublished.

Frank Sinatra (1915-1998) - American Singer & Actor - a unique and important piece of music memorabilia - Sinatra's personal Embarkation Card following his UK visit in 1970, after two concerts at the Royal Festival Hall, London. The card being filled out by Sinatra when he and his entourage were leaving via Stanstead Airport. Filled out in Sinatra's hand, the card lists his full name, date of birth, passport number and finally his signature. Interestingly he has left the 'Occupation' section unfilled. Yellow, on card stock. The immigration stamp dated 18th Nov 1970. Rare and unique piece of music memorabilia. Provenance: This item originally belonged to the immigration officer who had Frank fill out the card before boarding. The story was always that the officer then refused entry to Sinatra and his entourage to the aircraft because Sinatra's guards were carrying firearms. Frank, after filling out the card, then walked off and returned at a later time to deal with a different Immigration Officer. The first officer kept this card a souvenir at the time.

METEOR AIR RIFLE serial number NH9295, first introduced in February 1973 and fitted with a stained beech stock to which is attached a rubber recoil pad, its blade foresight is missing its hood and the rear sight is capable of both vertical and horizontal adjustment, it has retained the vast majority of its japanned finish to its metal work but has some scratches on its stock, it is in correct working order (THE PURCHASER MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OVER)

AN ANTIQUE AFGHAM JEZAIL believed dating from the period of the first Anglo/Afghan war between 1839 and 1842, it is fitted with flint lock which appears to be one used in the former British Brown Bess musket lock and probably taken during this conflict then subsequently fitted to one of their own muskets, it has an overall length of 48 ¾'' which is fitted with a 33 ½'' smooth bore barrel, its wood stock is inset with a huge quantity of mother of pearl shapes and there is brass serrated edging strips around the lock plate and along the stock below the barrel, virtually all these embellishments are intact, the ornately shaped barrel starts with three visible longitudinal grooves at the breech end then moves forward through a ringed section to a five visible grooved length before finally terminating with a round cross section, the barrel, which has a button foresight and V notch rear sight and it attached to the stock with two brass barrel bands, its lock is in working condition but extremely stiff to operate, it comes with a canvas slip

A .177'' ORIGINAL MODEL 23 AIR RIFLE made in Rastatt Germany which bears no serial number, however it does bear a date stamp of 12 73, it has a blade foresight and metal ramp rear sight, its blued metal finish is lightly rust speckled and its breech stock has some scratches, it is in good working order, these first appeared on the market in late 1951 (THE PURCHASER MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OVER)

A .320'' BRITISH CALIBRE ENGLISH MANUFACTURED CENTRE FIRE NICKEL PLATED SOLID FRAME POCKET REVOLVER FITTED WITH A 3'' BARREL, its top strap is engraved with the name I. Hollis & Sons, London, it bears no visible serial number and was proved for use with black powder cartridges at the Birmingham Proof House, it is in correct working condition and has retained virtually all its original finish, I. Hollis & Sons were originally established in London in 1814 and operated from various addressed in London including one in Birmingham until 1903 when the company was succeeded by Hollis, Bentley and Playfair, given that this calibre was first introduced in the 1870's, this revolver was made sometime between the 1870's and 1903, this calibre is currently listed by the Home Office as obsolete and the revolver is therefore classed as an antique under section 58(2) of the 1968 Firearms Act and free from licensing whilst kept as a curio or ornament
