A good set of three carved giltwood pelmets - George IV late 19th or early 20th century with anthemion and lotus decoration (LWH 211 x 22.5 x 25.5 cm) (Originally installed at Bramerton Hall, near Norwich. One with William Boswell label reading: 'W. Boswell - Carver Gilder Upholsterer - Cabinet and Chair Maker - Removed from Exchange Street to 37 London Street Norwich (Late Freemans). Camille Matisse (French, first half 20th century) Still life of flowers in a blue and yellow vase oil on canvas, signed 'Camille Matisse (Paris)' lower right, gold painted gilt and composition frame (losses) 23½ x 17½in (59.7 x 44.5cm) * Surface dirt and discoloured varnish. Small frame abrasions to margins. Good overall.
A small collection of Chinese Canton famille rose export tea and coffee ware - first half 20th century, painted in the typical palette with flowers, birds, butterflies and foliage, plus a coffee cup and saucer painted with precious objects, the tea cups 5cm high, the saucers 14cm diameter, one tea cup chipped, one saucer with heavy wear to decoration. (22)
A Chinese bronze vase – of early Ming dynasty form, probably first half 20th century, mid to dark brown patination, of flattened baluster form with twin dragon mask loop handles and bands of diaper decoration to the neck and foot, 27.7cm high.* Dent to rim and several small dents to the body. Old soldered repair to both joints of one handle and the body - there is some later grey glue to one side of the lower repair where the solder has flaked away. A few casting flaws to the edges of the rim and base. No other faults.
A large Chinese blue and white porcelain bowl – probably first half 19th century, the central circular reserve painted with cranes amidst pine trees and bamboo, within a border of birds on fruiting branches, the rim with shaped floral reserves on a scale ground, 39cm diameter, large cracks and small chips to rim.
Two pieces: 1. a silver prize ashtray - Ollivant & Botsford, London 1908, with Lytham & St Annes Golf Club crest and 'Captain's Cup Memento (First Division)' inscription dated 19th Dec. 1908, weight 92g. 2. a St. Edward's School white-metal and oak prize tankard with inscription, 'St. Edward's - R. H. Brown - 100 Yds 1891', 13.5 cm high.

**Ruth Simpson (née Alison) (British, 1889-1964) Portrait of Dr John Martingale (1867-1954), in his Edinburgh University robes oil on canvas, signed and dated 1930 lower left, behind glass in a modern hollow gilt frame, extensively inscribed to reverse 23½ x 18½in (59.7 x 47cm) * Ruth Alison studied in Newlyn, Cornwall, at the Stanhope Forbes' Painting School. Soon after arriving in 1911/12, she met the artist Charles Simpson, who she married in 1913. They lived at first in Newlyn, then Lamorna and by 1916 in St Ives, where they became key members in the social life of the artists' colony and running a painting school, where Ruth taught her area of special interest, portraiture. They moved to London in 1924 and returned to live in Lamorna in 1931. **(Subject to ARR)

All first quality. factory marks to bases.
Clarice Cliff - Applique Etna - An 18 inch ribbed charger circa 1930, hand painted with a stylised landscape with trees to the foreground and a mountain below a deep orange sky with black and orange banding, partial Bizarre mark to the reverse. NB - This is only the second known example of an Applique Etna charger to come to market, the first being sold by Fieldings Auctioneers in March 2024 for a hammer price of £18,500.
Clarice Cliff - Farmhouse - A very large Conical coffee cup and saucer circa 1931, the body hand painted with a stylised cottage amongst bushes with orange banding with a matched black, yellow and orange banded saucer, Bizarre mark. N.B - This appears to be a prototype as the body of the Conical cup is made from a size 2 3/4 jam pot base with a large conical tea cup handle. This is the first example of this size of Conical coffee cup seen on the market.
