Extremely well specified, finished in its original paintwork of Techno Violet over the amazingly rare factory-optioned Anthracite Alcantara M-Cross + Amaretta Vader interior, just 60,000 miles with its two owners and a full BMW service history from new. At the Paris Motor Show in 1992, BMW introduced the successor to the widely adored E30 M3 with the E36 M3. The second incarnation of the model was a different animal to the original 1980's E30, replacing the four-cylinder with a straight-six, sleeker styling, modernised and a more refined demeanour. At the time, the Motorsport Division's new take on the iconic M3 was to utilise the standard M50TU engine (used in other E36s and earlier E34s), however there were numerous upgrades over the standard M50 including individual throttle bodies, continuously variable 'Vanos' valve timing, dual-mass flywheel, lightweight pistons, graphite-coated connecting rods, larger inlet valves and redesigned equal-length exhaust manifolds.Things continued to improve with the expansion of the range in 1994 with the arrival of the second generation E36 M3 Evolution cars powered by the new S52B32, a 3.2-litre straight-six with the compression ratio raised to 11.3:1, significantly upping the power output from 282bhp to 321bhp at 7,400rpm, mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a sequential DSG transmission. Other changes included a new Cornering Brake Control system and staggered 17" wheels, with meatier 225/45 ZR17 fronts and 245/40 ZR17 rear tyres. The E36 M3 Evolution was and still is regarded as one of the best sports cars of the 1990s and was awarded Best-Handling Car by Car and Driver magazine in 1997. BMW’s E36 M3 Evolution was destined to become a classic from the start but, although unfairly overlooked in recent years, its time will come. This stunning 1998 E36 M3 Evolution is arguably the best specified example we have ever seen, making it quite possibly the ultimate E36 M3 Evolution. A late car, first registered in October 1998, it's finished in the rare Techno Violet paintwork with the very, very rare Anthracite Alcantara M-Cross + Amaretta interior optioned from new and is fitted with a strong selection of optional extras.Becoming increasingly popular and difficult to source in excellent condition, this E36 M3 Evolution offers a rare opportunity to own an example that has covered a warranted 60,200 miles in the hands of its two owners from new. Having formed part of a private Collection of modern classics, the car has a history file that is as exemplary as its aesthetics. With 12 main dealer services and three additional BMW specialist services, it is safe to say that the car has been cossetted all its life and needs nothing. Our vendor is a true perfectionist and had the car inspected and detailed by a trusted detailer who has confirmed that (with the exception of the front bumper) the paintwork is all original, increasingly hard to find. There are a few minor stone chips present on the bonnet, but nothing more than what is to be expected. With so many of these E36 M3s being turned into track cars, race cars or simply not maintained, it is heartening to see such a wonderfully specified, original example in such outstanding condition. Criminally underrated, with values steadily on the rise, these E36 M3s truly warrant their time in the sun.Specification Make: BMW Model: E36 M3 EVOLUTION Year: 1998 Chassis Number: WBSBG92000EA90755 Registration Number: 44 MXW Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 60031851 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 60200 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey AlcantaraClick here for more details and images

Perhaps the most accomplished Evo ever, one of 35 examples specially enhanced by Mitsubishi to be a UK-market only model; 403bhp, 387lb/ft, 0-62mph in 3.8sec, just a single owner and only 7,600 miles. The Evo X is likely to go down in history - because since production stopped in 2016, Mitsubishi no longer sells a successor and, in fact, the brand has pretty much pulled out of the UK-market altogether. Buy an Evo X and you’re buying the ultimate evolution of one of the greatest performance car series ever. The Lancer Evo X was a bigger step on from its predecessor than any other model in the Lancer Evolution series. Like previous Evos, the unit was still a 2-litre turbocharged inline four, but the cylinder block was cast aluminium rather than cast iron. It was 12kg lighter as a result, used a timing chain rather than a belt and featured MIVEC valve-timing for both intake and exhaust valves, rather than just the intake. The raw statistics alone are impressive – 403bhp, 387lb/ft, and 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds – car magazine said: 'This is the best Evo X; it is quantifiably better – not just faster – than every other Evo X, and quite possibly the best Evo ever'.All FQ-400 Evo X cars started life as FQ-360s (and were registered as such) before being enhanced by Mitsubishi-appointed tuning companies and each FQ-400 had to be registered through an SVA/IVA Type Approval scheme due to the modifications. The engine output was now 201.7bhp per litre thanks to high-flow fuel injectors, a new hybrid turbo, upgraded intercooler, and re-mapped engine management. But the area where New Zealand-based WRC Developments (responsible, along with Ecutek, for the whole UK FQ line-up) has made the biggest difference is in the suspension, which now featured new Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs. Track widths are up 20mm front and rear and the whole body sits 30mm lower, those are big shifts, and they make a big difference. The brakes too, Alcons replacing the previous Brembos, are mightily impressive and are easier to modulate in the first inch of travel. The exterior was not neglected either with a redesigned bonnet, lightweight front bumper, restyled composite rear bumper, a trapezoidal centre-exit exhaust and lightweight 18" wheels. The car presented here is a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400, having covered just 7,600 miles from new with its one and only owner. It is #17 of 35 examples specially enhanced by Mitsubishi to be a UK-market only model. Offered to auction from the revered Mayo Collection, this is an exceptional car, remaining factory-standard. Looking suitably purposeful in Phantom Black (one of only six FQ-400 examples in this colour), it was supplied new through Mitsubishi dealership, Colt Cars UK Ltd., in 2010 and was first registered on 1st March. It's accompanied by its handbooks and sales brochure as well as a large history portfolio. Its original owner, a collector of some notable cars, sadly passed away last year and ownership passed to his sister who hasn’t even driven the car and now lives overseas. Iconic Auctioneers welcome any inspection of this limited production ‘supercar with four doors’, you will not be disappointed – it is quite possibly the best example of its type available.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: LANCER EVOLUTION X FQ-400 Year: 2010 Chassis Number: CZ4A0006599 Registration Number: HY10 AAO Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 4B11BT7758 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 8000 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
An ex-Ford Motor Company Press Car in Moonstone Blue with a grey cloth Recaro interior in all round excellent condition. In 1988, Ford introduced the four-door Sapphire Cosworth, a family saloon which was, perhaps, a little more discreet than its be-spoilered sibling. As the name suggests, it was based on the Sapphire saloon and used the existing 1,993cc Cosworth twin-cam turbo.A couple of years later, in January 1990, the third-generation Sierra RS Cosworth was launched, this time with four-wheel drive. As early as 1987, Mike Moreton and Ford Motorsport had been talking about a four-wheel drive Sierra RS Cosworth that could make Ford competitive in the World Rally Championship. Ford Motorsport's desire for a three-door 'Motorsport Special' equivalent to the original Sierra RS Cosworth was not embraced however, as it was felt that the more discreet, family-friendly four-door version was considered to have a better marketing potential. Consequently, it was decided that the new car should be a natural development of the second-generation cars and would be launched in conjunction with the facelift scheduled for the entire Sierra range in 1990. They were now powered by the 220bhp Cosworth YBG/YBJ mated to the Ferguson 4x4 MT75 transmission and 0-60mph took just 5.6 seconds, pretty impressive for a family saloon. On offer here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive Sapphire Cosworth that was used by the Ford Motor Company as a press car, featuring in many marketing materials as you can see in the images one our website. First registered on 15th March 1990, the Sapphire is finished in Moonstone Blue with a classic RS Recaro interior in grey velour and cloth and was showing 78,418 miles at the time of cataloguing. The vendor, a true RS-enthusiast, has owned this wonderful Ford Press Car since 1995 and he has kept it carefully garaged and maintained with regular lubrication services during this time. Coming to market due to retirement and subsequent loss of dry storage, the car will be presented to auction benefiting from a major service that included a fresh cambelt, water pump and an advisory-free MOT.It’s accompanied by both keys, a period Cobra Alarm, recently refurbished alloy wheels, its history file and an original copy of the July 1990 Fast Ford Magazine in which the car featured as part of its former press activity. This is an important example in all round excellent condition that’s worthy of serious consideration by any collector of RS Fords.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS COSWORTH Year: 1990 Chassis Number: WF0FXXGBBFLY26936 Registration Number: G364 COO Transmission: Manual Engine Number: LY26936 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 78418 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey ClothClick here for more details and images
An incredible opportunity to acquire possibly the finest low-mileage example of the best selling commercial vehicle in UK history, a Mk1 Ford Transit, rescued from its slumber by none other than TV's own Mike Brewer. Found nestled in the rear of a garage, this particular Transit was found by TV's own Mike Brewer some years ago. It had been acquired as an ex-German Fire Service truck, having been rolled out of its garage occasionally, cleaned regularly and attending very few events, explaining the low mileage. Those of us who spent their formative driving years at the wheel of a Mk1 Transit will remember them with fondness. Quick (when empty), nimble (they could out-handle an MG B), easy to drive and reverse and generally totally user friendly. Mike Brewer obviously felt the same way and was quick to snap up this left-hand drive 'Fire Engine Red' LWB twin-wheeler with about 10,000 miles (at the time) for a forthcoming episode of Wheeler Dealers (Season 17, Episode 13).During the programme, the unflappable Elvis explained the rather complex process of converting the van to right-hand drive in great detail. The first job was stripping the front end and removing the engine, gearbox and the many parts that were attached to the front bulkhead. Then the conversion could begin, and a chap called Keith had supplied a handy template so Elvis knew where to cut the holes for the steering gear and pedals. Back at the workshop, a clever plan to cut and weld the dashboard meant Elvis could re-locate the instrument binnacle and then it was a matter of fitting all the parts that would complete the conversion. The now right-hand drive van could head off to get a fresh coat of Ford Light Grey, its original colour. However, there was still plenty of work to do! A front leaf spring needed to be reconditioned, various new bushes fitted and the final drive ratio reduced from 5.8:1 down to 4.6:1 with a replacement crown wheel and pinion, enabling much more relaxed cruising whilst still retaining decent acceleration.Mike has called this one if his favourite builds on Wheeler Dealers and he certainly loved the result. It’s obvious at the end of the programme that he really didn’t want to part with the Transit but the whole idea of the show is that the vehicles have to be sold and it soon became the property of a local van dealer for the full asking price. The van dealer was a very helpful chap and agreed that Mike could borrow the Transit to take to the Classic Motor Show at the NEC a short time later as part of their Wheeler Dealers presentation, however once reunited with the van, Mike decided that he wanted to keep it and made his dealer friend an 'offer that he couldn’t refuse' and his beloved Mk 1 joined the Brewer Collection.Mike had no intention of selling the Transit, or either of his two Porsches also in our sale, but a rather exciting (and probably expensive) project is on the horizon so a bit of space needs to be created. We invite and encourage your viewing of this 'best of breed' LWB Transit.Specification Make: FORD Model: TRANSIT MK1 LWB Year: 1974 Chassis Number: GB81PT11846 Registration Number: SAT 78M Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 18000 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images
**Please note for clarity the original plenum and induction kit will be available after the sale, free of charge, to be collected from the vendor. The tracker is fitted but has never been turned on.The car comes with a custom made car cover.** Uncovered from its factory 'matte' wrap, the gleaming black paintwork has been brought up to a phenomenally high standard. In OEM+ condition with sympathetic Mountune upgrades and just under 7,700 miles from new. Offered directly from 'The Well Timed' Collection.Offered here is a very special RS500, #128/500, first registered in the UK on the 17th September 2010 as one of 101 right-hand drive examples and believed to be one of just two RS500s fitted with the striking Red Nappa Leather front seats, from factory, from new.The history file is very impressive, containing a plethora of paperwork and documentation from the second it was ordered. It comes with its original book pack with a stamped service history up to 4,500 miles. It was ordered new by a private individual via Rufus Carr Ltd, Lancashire and within the file there is the New Vehicle Order Form dated 28th April 2010, the original Purchase Invoice dated 31st August 2010 for £36,700 including the £1,000 DVD SatNav option, the handover checklist dated 17th September 2010 and pre-delivery/delivery transportation documentation from the factory in Germany where they were built. Crucially, this includes the factory production document for the Nappa Red Recaro seats. Additionally, there are photos of the car upon collection, Ford documentation on how to clean and care for the 3M wrap, the Mountune Certificate and physical copies of every MOT from new. To say the first owner was a perfectionist doesn’t quite cover it. There is a plastic envelope including every fuel receipt (always Shell Super Unleaded) for the first six months of its life. From the Mountune document, we understand that on 18th March 2011 they fitted some performance parts including their Sports Exhaust and inlet plenum. These parts remain fitted to the car, but the first owner wisely kept all the original parts and they will be included in the sale. For safety and insurance purposes it has a Tracker system fitted with all the associated paperwork. This particular car, alongside its Sierra RS500 stablemate, featured as the main article and front/back cover stars of Fast Ford magazine, issue 302 March 2011 and a a copy is included. The car was bought new, then later sold to another private buyer, bought back by the original owner, then sold to our vendor, a personal friend, so it's actually three owners from new but reads as three previous keepers on the logbook. #128 was purchased by our vendor in 2014 at 6,000 miles and kept ever since, covering just 1,500 joyful miles in those ten years. Not liking the quality or aesthetics of the factory 'matte' wrap, our vendor set about removing it to reveal the Panther Black paintwork underneath, which he expected to be in showroom condition, but as all RS500s were wrapped, Ford clearly didn’t bother making the paintwork perfect. As a result, our vendor then spent over 24 working hours machine polishing the paintwork to bring it up to an incredibly high standard, before attaching their 'uncovered' title to the back of the car. This RS500 stands above the rest for all the right reasons and looks undeniably stunning in its gleaming Panther Black paintwork. An RS500 is a rare car at the best of times, however, to find an example in such incredible condition, let alone the fact that it has covered less than 8,000 miles and is virtually ‘out of the box’, is a brilliant opportunity for any modern classic collector, whether a ‘Blue Oval’ enthusiast or not, and is certainly not to be missed.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: FOCUS RS500Year: 2010Chassis Number: WF0GXXGCDGAJ82946Registration Number: R55 OOCTransmission: ManualEngine Number: AJ82946Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 7681 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Red LeatherClick here for more details and images
Looking very handsome in Kingfisher Blue, this is one of only 26 right-hand drive 5.3-litre Virage Volantes built by the factory with the optional wide bodywork. The Volante had been the big seller of the previous generation of AM V8s, so the only surprise was that it took Aston Martin more than two years from the Virage Coupé's introduction to come up with a soft top sister. The production Virage Volante debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1991, a prototype having been displayed at Birmingham's NEC the previous October. Weighing in at over two tons, the open Volante was even heavier than the closed coupé, itself no lightweight. This increase in weight is accounted for by considerable body strengthening to compensate for the absent roof, plus the extra complication of the power-operated convertible hood. Electrically powered, the latter was beautifully made and incorporated a glass rear window, complete with heated de-misting elements. Mechanically, the Volante remained much the same as its closed cousin, though with a slightly lower final drive. Top speed was slightly reduced also, to a still outstanding 150mph. Automatic transmission was standard on the Volante, the original 3-speeder being superseded in 1993 by a new 4-speed dual-mode (normal/sport) unit as featured on this particular car.For those customers who felt the need for more power, Aston's solution, ahead of the forthcoming twin-supercharged Vantage was for the Works Service Department to offer 6.3-litre conversions for the existing 5,340cc V8-engined cars. Introduced in January 1992, this package could cost more than £60,000 (depending on options) and offered increased power and a menu of modifications to the bodywork, suspension, and brakes. In addition to the expanded wheel arches necessary to accommodate the wider wheels, the bodywork was a lot more dramatic with air dams, spoilers, splitter, flowing sills etc., a bit more Le Mans than Ledbury. It was a good looking car and inevitably there were customers who admired the 'racy' looks but didn't feel in need of 6.3-litres, focused suspension and brakes, so the factory developed an option, known internally as 'Cosmetic Wide-body', which was available on the standard 5.3-litre Virage soft top. We understand that 26 5.3-litre Virage Volantes were finished by the factory with this bodywork. The hand-built example on offer here is indeed one of those 26 factory-built, UK-supplied, right-hand drive 'Cosmetic Wide-body' cars and is finished in Kingfisher Blue with Parchment hide piped in dark blue and fitted with dark blue mohair hood. It was supplied new to its first owner through Lancaster of Sevenoaks, who were responsible for the car's maintenance initially. Details from that period and subsequent servicing can be found in the owner’s book pack alongside some older MOT Certificates.Reassuringly, regular maintenance can also be found from a number of noted Aston Martin specialists including Aston Workshop and RS Williams. This includes superficial paintwork correction, new tyres, brake work, mechanical adjustments and tracking more recently as well as rebuilt throttle bodies, new HT leads, battery and comprehensive service a little further back. The Aston Workshop repaired the low front spoiler as well as both front quarter panels, blending in all areas and finishing with a full machine polish. Later that year, a full service was carried out with some electrical rectification. RS Williams also checked through some battery defects, brackets, hood mechanism issues and relays with a thorough road test to finish.Produced to recapture the spirit of the 'golden age' of Grand Touring, this rare Aston is high on the list of desirable, sought after models and is sure to fulfil the requirements of enthusiasts and collectors alike.Specification Make: ASTON MARTIN Model: VIRAGE VOLANTE Year: 1995 Chassis Number: SCFDAM2C0PBR60113 Registration Number: M802 RKO Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 89/60113/A Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 30094 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Parchment HideClick here for more details and images
Rare and increasingly desirable, this superb Escort 'AVO' Mk1 RS2000 is fresh from an exacting restoration. With their Escort doing so well in the world of rallying, it made sense that Ford would try and sell developed versions beyond the usual homologation specials. The job of creating more widely produced, fast Escorts was left to Ford's new Advanced Vehicle Operations, based in Essex.Following up on the rather complex RS1600 of 1970 came the Mexico and RS2000 which were far more suited to the man in the street. In June 1973, the Mexico was supplanted by the RS2000 and the model fitted nicely into the AVO line up with its performance almost comparable to the RS1600, but with the same reliability and ease of maintenance as the Mexico. Importantly, the RS2000 utilised the same Type-49 body shell as the Mexico and RS1600.The RS2000 was the first Escort to be powered by the overhead cam four-pot, as Ford decided that their 1,993cc 'Pinto' engine was to be used in the new model however, Ford faced the problem of persuading the bulky Pinto engine to fit into the engine bay and the only way of achieving this was to discard the engine-driven cooling fan and replace it with a thermostatically controlled Kenlowe unit. When finally nestled in place, the Pinto engine produced 100bhp and the RS2000 once again proved to be a quick and delightful car to drive, whilst being more accessible to buy and still offering customers a great choice in terms of colours and options.Finished in its original factory colour of Olympic Blue with a grey cloth interior, this fabulous RS2000 is offered fresh from an exacting professional restoration and with work just completed, it’s clear to see the lengths that have been taken to preserve the original detail with the standard of work being exemplary. No stone has been left unturned with every nut, bolt, washer and screw having received attention. The matching numbers engine and gearbox have been rebuilt by Ridgeway Racing Engines with particular attention to detail as Paul Broadway, the founder of Ridgeway Racing Engines, was the previous custodian, having had the Escort in his care for some 27 years. The original Twin 40 DHLA Dell’Orto carbs have been replaced by a pair of 45DCOE Webers on a Simpson stainless steel manifold with burnt gases exiting through a stainless-steel 2.5’’ sports exhaust system. Delve a little deeper and you see the original etched glass still in place, even the original radiator has been retained rather than replaced, simply requiring a new core. Similarly, the suspension and braking system have been fully overhauled as required and the car now sits on the correct RS-Ronal 7.5"x13" 4-spoke alloys wearing fresh Nankang rubber. The interior has also received the same level of attention with a retrim by Aldridge Trimming and the delicate dashboard veneers carefully refinished. So fresh, in fact, is the build that a period of running-in is strongly recommended to obtain the very best from this spectacular Ford.Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the detail of this RS2000 which is as clean on the underside as it is on top. To find a genuine AVO-built RS2000 is a rare thing, particularly when factory-fitted with the Custom Pack, but to find one in this condition is extraordinary.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT RS2000 Year: 1974 Chassis Number: BFATPY00498 Registration Number: OAL 776M Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 611 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
One of 130 UK right-hand drive examples of the final year of production 930 Turbo with the G50, 5-speed gearbox and less than 10,000 miles from new. First introduced in 1975, the 930 Turbo version of the amazing Porsche 911 evolved every few years to maintain its position as one of the fastest and most desirable sports cars of its time. By 1989, the final versions were offering 330bhp, which when coupled with the new G50 5-speed gearbox, propelled the car up to a top speed of 162mph and a 0-60 was covered in just 4.9 seconds. Porsche enthusiasts often consider the 930 of 1989 to be the ultimate incarnation, as it was the only year that this model was fitted with the 5-speed G50 gearbox which offered ratios better suited to the Turbo's power delivery, and 1989 was the last year of production of the iconic 930 Turbo which makes it just that bit special.Offered here is one of those 130 final UK (C16), right-hand drive cars finished in its original factory Paint to Sample (PTS), Minerva Blue with a Colour to Sample White interior, almost certainly unique amongst those final G50 cars. Supplied new to its one and only owner by the Official Porsche Centre, Swinford Motors, on 1st August 1989, it has remained cossetted in his heated garage for nearly 35 years, covering only 9,955 miles in that time.It was meticulously maintained by Porsche Centres until 2005, when the owner acquired a Ferrari 430 and the Porsche was carefully stored until now, but constantly maintained and used only sparingly on fine days. This truly exceptional, UK-delivered C16 Porsche 911 Turbo comes complete with a comprehensive list of factory options, an 'as new' tool kit and is MOT’d until November 2024.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ93ZKS000458 Registration Number: G464 LWD Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 67K00624 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 9955 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: CTS White LeatherClick here for more details and images
A rare and desirable Fulvia Sport Zagato that has been professionally and sympathetically restored to its original specification. The Fulvia Sport was a fastback two-seater based on Fulvia Coupé mechanicals and clothed in curvaceous and lightweight bodywork styled by Ercole Spada of the Zagato design house in Milan, known for the immortal Aston Martin DB4 Zagato. Powered by an innovative, 1,298cc, OHC, narrow-angle V4 engine and featuring double wishbone independent suspension, the nimble Zagato-bodied cars proved themselves well in motorsport, scoring highly in events such as the Sebring 12 Hours, the Daytona 24 Hours and winning the 1972 International Rally Championship outright. In a contemporary road test, Road & Track magazine described the Fulvia as 'a precision motorcar, an engineering tour-de-force'.This particular 1.3-litre Fulvia Sport Zagato was first registered on 3rd April 1969 and is believed to be one of only a handful of original right-hand drive examples known to still exist and one of the last 'real' Lancias built before FIAT’s takeover in late 1969.It has been sympathetically restored to a superb level, with the emphasis being on originality and retains all of the signature Fulvia Zagato features unique to the Series 1 including the alloy side-opening bonnet, alloy door skins and spare wheel hatch. The bodywork was taken back to bare metal and fully prepared before being professionally refinished in many coats of Lancia Blue Mendoza. The engine was fully rebuilt with all new pistons and bearings, the twin Solex carburettors were refinished, the original Dunlop disc brakes were rebuilt and the suspension and underpinnings received equal attention. Naturally the interior was not left out and was retrimmed and refurbished as required with the seats and door cards benefiting from period-correct fresh tan vinyl. The little Lancia is accompanied by a comprehensive history file which includes a continuous ownership log detailing just four recorded keepers until 1978 and then the same family ownership until 2021, as well as further documentation helping to support the indicated mileage of 48,944.Ex-works 'HF' rally cars aside, the Sport Zagato is the most desirable and collectable of all the Fulvias and undeniably one of the most striking designs of its era. These period coach-built motor cars are becoming more and more sought after and this rare example seems very reasonably guided, especially considering the amount of time, money and love invested in it.Specification Make: LANCIA Model: FULVIA SPORT 1.3 ZAGATO Year: 1969 Chassis Number: 818 333 2572 Registration Number: VXD 34G Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 818 302 17675 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 48944 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Tan VinylClick here for more details and images
Super smooth straight-six 'Sharknose' 635 CSi with just 27,000 miles from new and in superb condition. BMW's E24 6-Series is regarded as one of the best German high-performance coupés of the late 20th century, an elegantly styled, extremely rapid Grand Tourer powered by the Bavarian marque's superb range of straight-sixes. Initially launched in 1976 in either carburetted 630CS form or with Bosch L-Jetronic fuel-injection (as the 633CSi), the definitive E24 for most people was the 635CSi announced two years later, with an appreciable power boost from its 3.5-litre engine. Sporting a discreet front air dam and boot lid spoiler, the 635CSi was available with a 5-speed gearbox for the first time, although most customers opted for the refined ZF automatic, making manual cars something of a rarity these days. The beautifully appointed cabin could accommodate four adults in genuine comfort whilst the cockpit-style dashboard layout and instrument panel set the standard for generations of future BMWs. A new feature was the Check Control System, monitoring light bulbs, fluid levels and brake pads – commonplace on today’s luxury cars but a real innovation at the time.On offer and is an original, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, post-facelift 635CSi with the revised exterior and interior styling and upgraded chassis, suspension, and electronics. It’s powered by BMW's sonorous 215bhp M30 straight-six with a smooth 4-speed automatic gearbox and is superbly presented in Polaris Silver with a blue cloth interior in excellent condition. It was first registered on 1st July 1982 and has been with its current owner for seven years. At the time of cataloguing, the indicated mileage was just 26,818 and this is supported by a large history file with extensive historic paperwork including invoices since our vendor's purchase in 2017. Included in the file is a letter (12th September 2007) from Munich Legends stating that this '1982 facelift model is a truly exceptional example' and that 'finding such a car at any price would be extremely difficult'. The current MOT is valid until February 2025 and was issued with 'No Advisories'.Epitomising style and mechanical prowess when they arrived on the motoring scene in 1976, these beautiful coupés will always stand the test of time with the ability to 'wow' anywhere.Very sensibly estimated, we invite and encourage your inspection of this classic BMW.Specification Make: BMW Model: 635 CSI Year: 1982 Chassis Number: WBAEC8204C8185083 Registration Number: DBH 626X Transmission: Auto Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 27000 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Glorious Dark Blue Mk2 that benefits from an older restoration with performance upgrades and 'Coombs'-style enhancements. Excitingly offered at 'No Reserve'. Racing driver John Coombs' name will forever be linked with that of Jaguar, his MkI and Mk2 saloons being at the forefront of British saloon car racing throughout the late 1950s/early 1960s. He gave up competitive driving to concentrate on running his Guildford-based Jaguar dealership, making the benefit of his experience available to customers, and over the next seven years they modified between 30 and 40 Mk2s.Essentially, the Coombs conversion consisted of an uprated engine matched by steering and suspension modifications, but the company offered a plethora of options from which customers could choose. They included an additional fuel tank, a wood-rim steering wheel and a chrome plated boot rack. Coombs would also modify the rear wheel arches, removing the spats and making up rolled edges to match the profile of the front wheel arches. The primary objective of this was to improve access for wheel changing during motorsport events, but the modification improved the appearance of the car so much that it is surprising Jaguar themselves did not adopt the modification for production cars. Not all the Coombs cars had the same state of tune, but the typical engine had 9:1 compression pistons, a lightened flywheel and a different carburettor air-intake system. The whole bottom-end assembly would be balanced and the cylinder head would be gas-flowed. A number of Coombs-style cars feature a louvred bonnet but this was not an advertised option in the early days. The classic 3.8-litre Mk2 offered here has been restored and rebuilt in the style of those 1960s John Coombs cars. A Jaguar/Daimler Dating Letter on file reveals that chassis #233517 was originally finished in Jaguar Dark Blue with light blue trim (the same as it is today) and was retailed through Henlys, being first registered as HPA 700C, the registration it wears today. The car's history is not known prior to 1992 when it was acquired by a Mr Vann and it was he that commissioned its restoration. The no expense spared rebuild was commenced by marque specialists, Three Point Four, and completed in November 1997 by Scott-Moncrieff. Its specification includes a rebuilt, balanced and tuned engine, 2" SU carburettors on matching manifolds, front anti-roll bar, Koni shock absorbers, uprated coil springs at the front, 'Coombs'-type rear wheel arches, 'Coombs'-type chromed wire wheels a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel, Pioneer stereo system and discreet period style circular mirrors to the window frames. It's believed that the car was subsequently re-trimmed by renowned experts Suffolk & Turley. The Jaguar remained with Mr Vann for the next 20-or-so years before being sold to the owner prior to our vendor who appears to have fastidiously maintained it by the number of Red Triangle bills on file. Included in the fascinating history file are many bills from Scott-Moncrieff for the rebuild and also a photographic record of the restoration, old MOT Certificates, a copy of a sales invoice dated 22nd April 2016 from Runnymede Motor Company and more recent Invoices from Red Triangle for various works on the car during 2016/2017. Most recently this car last sold in July 2020 at auction for £51,750 but appears to have never been driven by its new owner (a US-resident) and committed to secure storage. The Jaguar has recently emerged from those four years of storage so an element of recommissioning is to be expected.Excitingly offered at No Reserve, we encourage your inspection at our Supercar Fest Sale of Iconic and Classic Cars.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: MK2 3.8-LITRE SALOON Year: 1964 Chassis Number: 233517 Registration Number: HPA 700C Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 87074 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: LeatherClick here for more details and images
Benefitting from an older restoration, this well presented V12 Roadster is eminently usable. Supplied new by the famous Tourist Trophy Garage in Farnham, once steeped in Mike Hawthorn folklore, this lovely V12 E-Type was first registered to Weldsparrs of Alton Hampshire as listed on its Heritage Certificate. Still in its original factory specification and showing around 54,000 miles, it was subject to a full restoration between April and December 1986.Much of the servicing and maintenance in the 1990s was carried out by Classic Coachbuilders and in 2010 it benefitted from a replacement hood and tonneau-cover together with new wire wheels. The history file contains various invoices from this time detailing work carried out by the Hutson Motor Company of Bradford. The E-Type has been in our vendor's family ownership from 2015 and the last MOT was carried out in 2017 with work that included new power steering pipes. It was serviced by Super Vettura of Sunningdale twice before being virtually laid up in the family garage ever since. On the button and ready for a new chapter, this lovely V12 has stood the test of time from its earlier restoration, now some 18,000 miles on and has a very comfortable look in a world of over-restored, unusable examples.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: E-TYPE S3 ROADSTER Year: 1973 Chassis Number: 1S1767BW Registration Number: SPH 99M Transmission: Auto Engine Number: 7S10977SA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 72000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
On offer from a private Collection, a very smart example of what was undoubtedly the start of the future. In today's automotive landscape, it's essential for major manufacturers to incorporate hybrid or all-electric options into their lineup. BMW took this a step further by launching BMW i, a brand dedicated to promoting environmentally friendly vehicles. Leading this initiative is the i8, which made its debut as a concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show before hitting the market in April 2014. This plug-in hybrid boasts impressive performance, with a turbocharged petrol engine powering the rear wheels and an electric motor in the front axle assembly. With outputs of 228bhp and 139bhp equivalent, the i8 accelerates from 0-60mph in under 4.4 seconds and is electronically limited to 155mph. Its sleek coupé design features 'butterfly' doors and a carbon fibre-reinforced passenger cell, contributing to its low drag coefficient and fuel efficiency at high speeds. Whether silently gliding on electric power or unleashing its speed with a flick of a switch, the i8 marks a significant step towards the future, challenging traditional notions of automotive performance. Here is a stunning BMW i8 finished in Protonic Blue over Frozen Grey metallic paintwork, complemented by an Ivory White BMW 'i-Spheric' perforated full leather interior. This right-hand drive example, first registered in January 2015, was acquired by the current owner from Stratstone BMW in April 2017, with detailed records included. Part of a private Collection, the car has been meticulously maintained by professionals, with maintenance invoices and the original BMW owner's handbook included. As one of the world's most sought after electric-hybrid sports cars, the i8 represents a pioneering blend of speed, style, and sustainability. With production now ceased, it's transitioning into a modern classic, offering a compelling option for eco-conscious drivers seeking performance without compromise. Don't miss the opportunity to own this stylish sports car, perfectly suited for navigating emission-controlled zones with ease.Specification Make: BMW Model: I8 Year: 2015 Chassis Number: WBY2Z220X0VX65810 Registration Number: LO64 XTG Transmission: Auto Engine Number: A026O898 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28596 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Ivory White LeatherClick here for more details and images
**Please note the car is not fitted with the dog ring gearbox but a CAE short shifter kit fitted by Pro Alfa. **A smart example of Abarth's ultimate FIAT 500 development, the 190bhp 695 Biposto optioned with the £8,500 'Dog Ring' gearbox. In recent years, Abarth has essentially become to FIAT what Alpina is to BMW; a high-performance 'skunkworks' division that takes something good and makes it great. Based on the cute and much-loved 500, the Abarth 500 came first, then the 595 Competizione and finally, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, they launched the 695 Biposto. The Biposto designation comes from the Italian for 'two seats', indicating its focus on performance. The car has gained notoriety for its unique and engaging driving experience and one of its key features was the phenomenally expensive optional 'Dog Ring' gearbox, developed by Bacci Romano. The 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine was lifted straight from Abarth’s 695 Assetto Corsa race car, with a 10bhp power increase over the Abarth 500 and 595 to 190bhp and 184lb/ft of torque. Fitted with an Akrapovic dual-stage exhaust with twin titanium tailpipes, 0-60mph takes just 5.9 seconds on the way to 143mph, retardation is provided by high-performance Brembo brakes and stability is assisted by a mechanical self-locking diff.Visually, the Biposto has a distinctive look with a large rear spoiler, carbon front and rear diffusers, lightweight OZ 18" alloy wheels, a new front bumper, wider arches and new side-skirts. Buyers could have it in any colour they like, as long as it was Matte Performance Grey. The car is incredibly light, weighing in at 974kg dry with the interior being somewhat spartan, with a tiny hint of luxury. It features leather and Alcantara Sabelt Abarth Corsa racing bucket seats with 695 stitching, optional carbon shells, a titanium rear brace by Poggipolini and carbon fibre door panels. No radio or air conditioning with the focus on saving weight. This 2016 example presents incredibly well, arguably even better than new, due to its recently reupholstered interior and is thankfully fitted with the all-important Dog Ring gearbox. It has covered a mere 16,200 miles from new in the hands of its three owners and comes with a full-service history, with another service undertaken to prepare it for sale, along with a fresh MOT. The car is fully ceramic-coated with its callipers re-coloured to the Biposto 220 branding. It’s finished in the usual Matte Grey paintwork with Lime Green details and bronze wheels. The interior has been fabulously upgraded with tan leather seats, the gear shift surround, door cards and carpets and these features make this little pocket-rocket stand out for all the right reasons, as if the £8,500 gearbox wasn’t already enough of a standout feature.Having partaken in just two half-day track sessions, our vendor has shamelessly been bitten by the track day bug and with the Biposto’s bigger Italian brother having already arrived, it is time for the Abarth to find its next home.Presumably due to cost, only a small number ever left the factory with this amazing gearbox, making it a sought after collector's item. So seldom seen in the UK, with examples fetching comfortably north of £35,000 globally, this very attractively priced little Italian jewel could be a fun addition for any Collection or enthusiast.SpecificationMake: ABARTHModel: 695 BIPOSTOYear: 2016Chassis Number: ZFA3120000J375297Registration Number: AP16 ZYFTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 1960160Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 16200 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Tan LeatherClick here for more details and images
A fine example of the 280SL from two long term, caring owners, just over 28,600 miles and finished in rare Diamond Blue with a matching factory hardtop. It’s hard to believe that the R107 Mercedes SL is now over 50 years old, yet in 1971, this new chapter in the history of the Mercedes legendary SL began. It was the first SL with a V8 engine, it had a thoroughly modern new design and was a self-confident motor car, sporty yet luxurious and quick yet comfortable. In many ways it was, and remains, the perfect convertible. The new SL featured a number of safety-related technical innovations such as defined crumple zones, high-strength steels in the A-pillars, a windscreen frame with bonded glass, padded surfaces and deformable elements in the interior. From March 1980, ABS was available and from January 1982, a driver’s airbag and belt tensioners. Over time, the interiors became even more luxurious, the car’s weight was reduced with new alloy bonnets and boot lids and the suspension and brakes continued to be developed until it was replaced by the R129 in 1989. The 'R107' SL was a classic almost as soon as it ended its 18 year production run and today they make perfectly usable daily drivers, especially when, as with this example, they come with a factory hardtop. This two-owner example of one of the final 280SLs built must surely be one of the best available. It has covered just 28,637 miles from new, a remarkably low figure as a result of its former keepers deliberately keeping it as an investment, enjoying it very sparingly and properly storing it in between drives. It’s finished in Diamond Blue (355), a rare colour only introduced in 1984, with a matching hardtop and a classic SL interior in Royal Blue Leather (272). It remains in very good condition with gleaming paint and brightwork, the glass and light lenses look crystal clear and crack-free, whilst the lovely blue leather has aged exceptionally well with no damage, just a gentle patination. The car was originally supplied by the Sunningdale Carriage Co. in Berkshire and was optioned from new with cruise control, rear badge delete, dark blue soft top, a fire extinguisher and heated rear and electric front windows. The original alloy wheels were later changed for optional 14" Bundt ‘Mexican hat’ wheels. The car was serviced at the supplying dealer until 1988, then there’s a bit of a gap to 2013 (though only 7,600 miles were covered) when it was purchased by its second owner. He immediately asked the SLShop to carry out an oil service and they have looked after it ever since. It has been through the SLShop’s workshops and their invoice (£8,694.55) details recent work including a restored plenum chamber, new heater blower motor, case and seal, an auxiliary belt, new alternator, rear discs and pads, front subframe bushes and finally the car’s underside was cleaned and Waxoyled. It’s supplied with its V5C, numerous invoices for servicing and maintenance, and almost all of its older MOT Certificates (with the missing items recorded online), supporting that very low mileage. This is a very good excellent example of the 2.8-litre R107 with just 28,700 miles from new, low ownership and recent attention from the SLShop. This well sorted MG TC represents the best of post-war light sports cars and still catches the eye. A landmark in the history of MG, the TC was the first British sports car to sell in serious numbers globally, proving a huge success in America where it paved the way for generations of Triumphs, Austin-Healeys and numerous others. Launched in 1945, the TC may have been a mildly revamped version of the short-lived TB, but the formula of traditional sports car styling, sparkling performance and affordability made the latest MG a winner, with some 10,000 examples rolling off the production lines at Abingdon over the next five years. Some useful modifications were made to the TBs suspension, with new shock absorbers and conventional springs in place of the sliding trunnion set-up of the pre-war model. The willing 1,250cc four-cylinder engine produced 54bhp at 5,200rpm, delivered to the rear wheels through a 4-speed gearbox with synchromesh on second, third and top. With its upright radiator, separate wings and a fold-flat windscreen, the MG's steadfastly traditional appearance bucked prevailing styling trends, lacking amenities like bumper bars or even a heater, all of which only seemed to enhance the TCs appeal to hardy sportscar drivers around the world. This charming 1947 MG TC was fully restored between 2002 and 2005 and the quality still shines through, providing the gentle patina that we all admire. The ground-up restoration included blasting the chassis and finishing with a high quality powder coat topped with a new Hutson body tub. At some point the original engine has been replaced with a 1,359cc unit (B9898) and XPAG Engineering carried out a full rebuild on this engine and gearbox. The car is fitted with the improved steering box and updated rear axle seals, and was treated to a four wheel geometry set-up. The interior was retrimmed in tan leather and looks splendid with its original Jaeger instruments and Bluemells sprung wheel and it has a full set of weather equipment including a half-tonneau. It wears a correct Lucas FT27 fog light and the high-level brake light is removeable for the sake of originality. Finished in the best colour for post-war Britain and a timeless design that still cuts the mustard. This well sorted MG TC represents the best of post-war light sportscars and still catches the eye. **During pre-sale investigation with Ferrari specialists, despite fitting of a new thermos switch, radiator flush and more the car does still run hot and will require further investigation**A delightful example of the Daytona's more approachable sister, 40 years with its previous keeper, 56,000 miles and a plethora of history including the original Maranello order form. One of the rarest Ferrari models ever produced, particularly in right-hand drive, the 365 GTC/4 was developed to meet the ever-growing demand among Ferrari's clientele for high-performance Grand Tourers with space for four passengers. It was introduced in March 1971 to replace the 365 GTC, which had been phased out two years earlier. The chassis of the 365 GTC/4 was essentially that of the 365 GTB Daytona, albeit stretched an additional 100mm for extra cabin room and Pininfarina's newly introduced wind tunnel obviously played a part in the car's sinuous and streamlined shape with no panels shared with other models in the range. The bodywork was steel with aluminium doors and motivation was courtesy of the Daytona's 4.4-litre DOHC V12, slightly softened to produce 340bhp, and fuelled by side-draft, twin-choke Webers allowing a lower bonnet line. Weight distribution was almost perfect at 51:49 thanks to the 5-speed gearbox and alloy bell-housing being set well back in the chassis. Around 500 examples were built over an 18 month period and, according to online sources, some 41 365 GTC/4s were produced in right-hand drive, with only 31 of those being destined for British shores.Amongst the many invoices, MOTs etc. contained in this car’s fascinating history file is a letter from Ferrari dated 20th January 1972 to Maranello Concessionaires confirming Order Number 562 'One Ferrari 365/GTC.4 Coupé. PF. RHD, complete with five alloy wheels and tyres and one toolkit'. It confirms that the car was to be finished in Marrone Colorado (2.443.221) and trimmed in beige hide (VM 3218) with beige carpets. The options from new were listed as 'Air conditioning and Voxson 'Sonar' Radio with an electric antenna'.It’s first owner was a Mr Billy Skelly of Skelly’s of Motherwell who apparently was 'particularly small' and required a 'wooden steering wheel' (presumably wood-rim) that suited his stature. There are various items of correspondence between Maranello Concessionaires and Ferrari until the matter was resolved. The original order is in the file as is the invoice (20th June 1972) showing a purchase price of £8,250 less a discount of £1,292.25, which seems substantial. However, after purchase tax etc., Mr Skelly paid a total of £8,700 for his brand new 365 GTC/4. Further correspondence in the file includes an invoice from Hexagon of Highgate for warranty work including a new clutch on 21st August 1973 with a mileage of 10,176, a letter and invoice from Mark Konig (14th February 1974) to Sydney Haynes for £6,125 (the car's second owner), a number of invoices over the years for maintenance etc. to a Mr Louis Cassoni of Lancaster Mews up until 1989, and various MOTs, the most recent being on 26th May 1989 with a stated mileage of 55,987.We believe that it was around this time that #15991 was put into long-term storage where it remained until recently and understand that the previous owner, Mr Cassoni, commenced a stalled recommissioning of the car with specialists back in 2022 but not a great deal was achieved before its purchase by our vendor. However, it has since been subject to further works by leading marque specialists, Foskers, including a tidy-up of the exhaust system, the carburettors 'sonic-cleaned', rebalanced and tuned, substantial work to the brakes (all flexible brake hoses, new pads), cooling system (hoses, clamps, fans), self-levelling shock absorbers rebuilt, air-con belts, various suspension components have been re-bushed and painted etc., new fuel pumps, four new tyres and much more. The invoice for this work is in the car’s history file and totals £17,719.Not surprisingly, the original 1972 radio was replaced by a more modern example but it does have its original toolkit, jack kit, handbooks and even the original warranty card, very rare in a car of this era.According to our vendor 'A considerable amount of work has already been carried out, the car drives, runs and stops with new tyres etc. It idles nicely and the gauges work etc. but it will require further recommissioning to restore it to its former glory'.This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiast to acquire and enjoy an incredibly rare 1970s classic Ferrari and to bring it back to its absolute best might just be a mission worthy of investment.SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 365 GTC/4Year: 1973Chassis Number: 15991Registration Number: EIW 365Transmission: ManualDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 56210 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: LeatherClick here for more details and images
On offer from single-family ownership, this exceptionally original XJ-S V12 Convertible has covered a mere 11,560 miles from new. The XJ-S Convertible, which first appeared in 1988 at a price of £36,000, was considerably more than merely a coupé with the roof removed. The earlier ''T'-top' Cabriolet paved the way as the first open Jaguar since the departure of the E-Type in 1975, but this was to be the first full convertible and a strengthened sub-frame was employed in order to alleviate scuttle shake. It looked superb and elegant with the hood erect or folded and finally met the demands of the highly valued North American market. Retaining the roomy cockpit space of the coupé, the new convertible boasted a useful shelf for extra luggage and all the expected Jaguar refinements as standard. The XJ-S' superb 5.3-litre V12 developed some 295bhp in later fuel-injected form and even when allied to an automatic transmission, the car was capable of a genuine 150mph and made for a fine open-top 'Grand Touring' car. This wonderful time warp example was originally supplied to a local gentleman by Jaguar Daimler dealer, Hartwell’s of Oxford, in August of 1989 finished in Signal Red with a Magnolia leather interior. Remarkably, it has remained with this family up until now and currently presents in exceptionally original condition thanks to their care storing the car respectfully and carefully in comfortable garaging. It’s supplied with a comprehensive history file telling the story of its life, including the original service book with eight stamps from 971 miles to 9,686 miles (main dealer servicing continued as seen on invoices on file, 2014 at 10,098 miles, 2015 at 10,259 miles, 2017 at 10,525 miles, 2022 at 10,977 miles), maintenance and service invoices, the Jaguar Guarantee, insurance certificates, the original purchase invoice and its MOT history, all serving to confirm the indicated mileage of just under 11,600.The meticulous accumulation of history with this car truly illustrates the conscientious manner in which it has been cherished. The next owner can learn and enjoy the car via its original Jaguar-supplied Stereo Radio owner's guide cassette tape, before storing this delightful XJ-S away under its original softshell indoor car cover. Rare with this low ownership and low mileage, this is a fine example of an appreciating Classic Jaguar. N.B. UK-specification, low-build number, Passion Red, 39,000 miles, plenty of history, and some discrete upgrades.....the Tommi Mäkinen sweet-spot! By 1997, rallying had captured the imagination of petrol-heads everywhere and Mitsubishi sold 6,000 Evolution IVs in the first three days of its launch! In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI arrived and in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite son’s four consecutive WRC drivers' titles from 1996-1999 - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Mäkinen Edition' (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour de force, but the TME had a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension ('tuned to give improved initial response on tarmac surfaces'), quicker steering, a different exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper for even better cooling and authentic 17" WRC Enkei alloy wheels. Plus, there was a special interior featuring embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw the 0-60mph sprint obliterated in 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150mph. Power was rumoured to be over 300bhp, rather than the 276bhp 'agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge and only 250 TMEs were officially imported into the UK, with 100 examples going to Australia and the rest sold domestically in the Japanese Market. Official figures show that of the UK's allocation, only 50 examples were in Passion Red, the signature colour for a TME. According to Mitsubishi, it was these Passion Red cars that automatically received the renowned racing decals, known as a 'Special Colour Package' (SCP), meaning these cars were factory-fitted with black door handles (so as to not break the line of the long profile decal). In the world of Mitsubishi aficionados, the consensus is that there were just 212 official factory SCP examples of the TME produced worldwide. The car presented here then is very special indeed. Not only is it a genuine Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition (CP9A / SNGF2) SCP car (i.e.one of 212) in the signature colour of Passion Red, but it is also an official UK-market example. This means it was officially imported by Mitsubishi-affiliated Ralliart UK, hence it would have been professionally SVA'd and is supplied with UK service books, a calibrated speedometer, an unleaded-spec fuel restrictor, cold-climate battery and an alternator, plus it is individually numbered with a plaque in the cabin - and not just any number in this case, here it reads #019, making this car a very early-in-the-run UK-market TME - the cars within the first 50 examples are considered to have special designations amongst enthusiasts and collectors. This very special car has covered just 39,000 miles supported by MOT and service records and has had just a handful of owners, the last, our vendor since 2012. It's only been lightly/discretely enhanced, benefitting from an engine tune by Evo specialist, Mark Shead, with a 'conservative' ECU upgrade, anti-lag, AP Racing 6-pot 362mm brake kit and a set of white Compomotive motorsports alloys.Accompanied by a large history file, with many receipts, plus its original and complete book-pack, the car has just had a full cam-belt service and a full MOT as part of its recommissioning, since coming out of storage.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: LANCER EVOLUTION VL 'TOMMI MÄKINEN EDITION' UK-SPEC CHASSIS #19 Year: 2001 Chassis Number: CP9A0201177 Registration Number: Y19 TME Transmission: Manual Engine Number: AG63BD2420 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 39297 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Fitted with the Tiptronic S gearbox, elegantly specified as one of the fastest, most luxuriously appointed cabriolets of its day and just 20,100 miles and two owners from new. Perhaps the only modern sports coupé that the vast majority of people could identify without its badge, the Porsche 911 is a uniquely aspirational model for those wanting a reliable daily sports car, a paradox of statement and subtlety. Perfected over generations, each variant of the 911 has met the expectations of the individual and whilst the daily commute in a Carrera was acceptable for some, the 911 Turbo was something special. Refined yet capable of supercar speeds, the evolution of the Turbo came into its own with the 996 generation of the late 1990s and early 2000s, however the circular headlamps were missed and in 2004 they returned with the 997 Carrera. It wasn't until 2006 that the Turbo version was finally revealed, first shown at that year's Geneva Show and initially offered as a coupé with an impressive specification. The Mezger 3.6-litre engine was carried over but now produced 480bhp at 6,000rpm and featured 'VarioCam Plus' and a pair of clever Borg-Warner variable geometry turbochargers, a totally new technology for Porsche. With a manual gearbox, the 997 Turbo requires just 3.9 seconds to reach 62mph and will go on to 193mph, whilst an impressive 3.7 seconds is achievable with deft use of the 5-speed Tiptronic S selector paddles.Power is transmitted to all four wheels with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) which utilises an electronically controlled, multi-plate clutch. This intelligent technology provides variable drive to each axle. The front/rear split is continuously adjusted based on current road conditions and driver inputs and, although biased towards the rear, the front receives more power whenever the situation requires. The May 2007 launch of the Turbo Cabriolet was universally acclaimed, yet it entered a competitive market that ironically it had helped to create, but brand loyalty, due to its reputation for reliability and blistering speed, set the car apart. For some, only a red Ferrari will do, much like a black 911 Turbo would be the obvious choice for many, and questionable colour choices have come in and out of fashion over the years. So we applaud the first owner’s specification of this Turbo Cabriolet in Macadamia Metallic with a Cocoa power-hood above the Sand Beige leather interior and the rare, for a 911, fitment of wooden accents. The Sycamore trim is beautifully finished, a classy addition that is neither ostentatiously Bentley or obviously Jaguar. The copy Bill of Sale to the first of its two owners on 18th September 2007 confirms that the car was to 'look the part' as can be seen in the options, such as the painted front spoiler lip, additional leather and Sycamore trim, crested headrests, stainless-steel door guards and much more, for a total cost of £126,116.The history file is confidence-inspiring and will be complemented by a Porsche main dealer service before the auction, together with a fresh MOT. Presented with some 20,200 miles from new (at the time of cataloguing), and clearly enjoyed for special outings, this motor car is one for the connoisseur.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 -997 Year: 2007 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ99Z8S786438 Registration Number: GY57 AHV Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 62801676 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 20200 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Sand Beige LeatherClick here for more details and images
An early production example with a factory hardtop, low ownership and just 33,542 miles from new. Some cars just get better looking with age and the R107 Series Mercedes-Benz SL is definitely amongst them. Overshadowed for a long time by its graceful 'Pagoda' predecessor, it's now becoming better appreciated for what it is - a beautifully built sports roadster that is totally dependable. To this day, no car door closes with a more reassuring 'thunk' than a Mercedes SL and everything about the car suggests solid engineering. Fast, comfortable and discreetly understated, the SL has a matchless ability to munch up the miles for year after year without ever seeming to falter. No wonder it stayed in production, fundamentally unaltered, from 1971 until 1989 - the longest production run of any Mercedes car to date. Mercedes offered a number of engine choices over the years, however the early cars were fitted with the 3.5-litre, M116.980, SOHC V8 featuring Bosch D-Jetronic fuel-injection and produced, when new, 197bhp and 210ft/lbs of torqueVery rare in original condition, this early production, low ownership R107 350SL has only covered 33,542 miles from new having spent a well documented 22 years professionally stored and cared for by Storacar in Buckinghamshire. The original Mercedes-Benz service book shows that it was registered to its first Mayfair owner in early 1972 and contains seven stamps through to 2015, supporting the very low indicated mileage. It's finished in Arctic White with black leather trim, rare in period as most cars were specified with cloth or MB-Tex. The correspondence in the history file suggests that the SL was used by the first owner and his wife through to 1991 (first and second owners) when it was sold to its third owner who put it into storage where it remained until purchased by our vendor in 2015 (only 193 miles were covered in 22 years of storage). It's supplied with a factory hardtop and a fascinating history file containing the service records, a fresh MOT valid until April 2025, and a copy of Classic Mercedes Magazine in 2015 with a feature comparing this early car to a final production car from 1989.Specification Make: MERCEDES-BENZ Model: 350SL Year: 1972 Chassis Number: 10704322004610 Registration Number: RBY 511K Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 11698222003035 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
As the ultimate representation of TVR's Speed Six era - and of Peter Wheeler’s vision for the brand - this unique T440R is a significant part of the Blackpool firm's history. If you are familiar with TVR’s back catalogue, you will understand the significance of this car; just like with the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 sold by Iconic Auctioneers (formerly Silverstone Auctions) last year, for £601,500, we are thrilled to offer this incredible opportunity to own another genuine piece of TVR history. The T440R was created so that TVR could challenge at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the intention of securing the marque homologation and FIA Approval to enter GT1 Class Endurance Racing. Initially named the ‘Tuscan R’ (R standing for Racing), the project began during the late 1990s with the hope that TVR would return to the Circuit de la Sarthe for the first time in more than 40 years. With an entirely new approach required to maintain speeds in excess of 200 mph on the Mulsanne Straight, the T440R was constructed completely by hand with a specialist in-house factory team. Designed with the help of cutting-edge CAD/CAM Technology, the complex and cutting-edge advanced structure was both hugely advanced and expensive to develop, and was like no other TVR built before it, or since. With a naturally-aspirated engine producing more than 400bhp and weighing just over 1100kgs, the performance of the T440R was quite simply staggering. Sophisticated aerodynamics generated a drag coefficient of a remarkable 0.32 and the production methods included a flat-floor design constructed from resin-filled aluminium honeycomb. This structure was then bonded and bolted directly to the seamless tubular chassis and integral steel roll-cage. A separate, lightweight carbon fibre tub was then also bonded to the structure together with the carbon fibre bodywok adding further strength and rigid reinforcement. From this, TVR were able to offer (in theory) two road-going versions of this car, the T440R - with a 4.2-litre 440bhp engine, and the Typhon (which was intended to run a sequential gearbox and a supercharger, but never came to fruition). The first of the T440R examples, and always registered as ‘PN02 ZNG’, is the car presented here. PN02 ZNG was actually the second factory pre-production car, the first (a purple, or sometimes silver example) was destroyed at the factory.PN02 ZNG remained road-registered, sporting its factory 4.2-litre powerplant, and was the original factory press car which was used in the marketing literature and brochures at the time, and was famously driven by Jeremy Clarkson in his 2002 film, No Limits, which can be viewed on YouTube. Subsequently, the car was factory-converted into an interpretation of the envisaged race car (in DeWalt livery) and was displayed at Le Mans, as a promotional exercise, in about 2004/5, to publicise TVR’s (hopefully) forthcoming involvement in the racing series. Following this, in 2008, it was purchased by a private customer (through ‘Racing Green’), whilst being in the care of TVR specialists since 2014.Overseen by our vendor, it has now been fully restored by those TVR specialists, and is fitted with a brand new 4.4-litre Speed Six engine built by Dom Trickett at Powers Performance, the same company that developed high-performance engines for the factory. Its engine now is as close in output/engineering competency as TVR ever achieved, with the 'aspirational' 440bhp (which helped coin the model's name back-in-the-day) always proving hard to actually reach. It also has a new clutch, differential, shocks, close-ratio gearbox, suspension and many other parts, all bespoke to the car. The exhaust was built by the talented Ryan Edwards, whilst the door glass was specially re-made by the original manufacturers in Italy! Such has been the attention to detail. PN02 ZNG is now in better condition that it ever was, it's fit & finish is superb, the materials used are first-rate, whilst the engineers employed to reinstate it have had the time, budget and derived knowledge to make this sensational car as good as it could ever be.The car has been superbly painted in its stunning original Candy Apple Red and has a newly trimmed, high-quality full leather interior. A comprehensive photo file of the rebuild, plus pictures of the car in its original form at the factory, have been put together to record this historic build (available upon request). The provenance of PN02 ZNG is indisputable, valid and can be easily traced; indeed, David Hothersall (TVR CC), an expert on these cars, can vouch for its veracity. Please do enquire if there is any uncertainty or questions. With the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 having sold for more than £600,000 last year, this original T440R represents an incredible chance to own an immaculate piece of the TVR story for a fraction of that figure. One of the rarest (but entirely usable) cars in TVR’s history could now be yours.Iconic Auctioneers are again very proud to offer for sale such a car- a unique example of its type from an era of British automotive brilliance. For any serious collector or enthusiast, this is a remarkable opportunity to acquire this legendary motor car and, as its owner, you and it would be welcome and much admired at any high-profile motoring event anywhere in the world.PN02 ZNG was recently featured in the current edition of 'Classic & Sportscar' magazine: https://www.classicandsportscar.com/features/tvr-t440r-blackpools-200mph-road-racerand also on the 'DriveTribe' YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqBS19coeBc(The first eight photographs here are used with permission from, and much thanks to, Classic & Sportscar magazine, part of the Haymarket Media Group, and were taken by John Bradshaw; and the Copyright remains with them) Specification Make: TVR Model: T440R Year: 2002 Chassis Number: SDLGA18A92B001249 Registration Number: PN02 ZNG Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 0212P6402673 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Classiche-Certified, matching numbers, right-hand drive, fibreglass-bodied 308 and one of only two in this striking colour. Introduced at the Paris Salon in 1975, the stunningly beautiful 308 GTB, Ferrari's second V8-engined road car, marked a welcome return to Pininfarina styling following the Bertone-designed Dino 308 GT4. Badged as a 'proper' Ferrari rather than a Dino, the newcomer had changed little mechanically apart from a reduction in wheelbase, whilst retaining its predecessor's underpinnings and transversely mounted quad-cam, 3-litre V8, which now featured dry-sump lubrication. In road tune, this superbly engineered power unit produced 255bhp, an output good enough to propel the aerodynamically efficient 308 to a top speed of 150mph (240kph). Produced initially with fibreglass (Vetroresina) bodywork - the first time this material had been used for a production Ferrari - the Scaglietti-built 308 GTB used steel after April 1977. This change in construction brought with it a considerable weight penalty (around 80kg) and consequently a reduction in performance, as well as increased susceptibility to corrosion. Naturally, anyone wanting to race a 308 GTB started out with the Vetroresina version if they could.Should all Ferraris be red? Take a look at this GTB Vetroresina and we suggest that your opinion may well change. This striking, fibreglass-bodied 308GTB was produced by Ferrari SpA, Maranello in September 1976 for the UK-market importer, Maranello Concessionaires Ltd, and their dealer, Maltin Car Concessionaires in Henley-on-Thames. Ordered from new in Verde Medio Metallizzato (106-G-29) with a tan interior (VM846), it was UK-registered as WJO 125R and collected from the showroom on 2nd November 1976 by its first owner, a Mr F D Bailey, who must have felt a huge sense of relief, having ordered the car's colour from a batch of Ferrari colour swatches, and put up with lots of well-meaning advice from friends who doubted his sanity, to find that when it arrived, it was absolutely stunning, with his friend's faces now matching the colour of the car. It's been the subject of a recent, professional, no expense spared, full-body refurbishment and interior retrim by Leather Care in Warrington, all completed to the very highest of standards. This is a rare car, confirmed to be matching numbers and one of just two examples in right-hand drive to have left the factory in this colour and the only one with a tan interior. We understand that only 11 GTBs were finished in this colour worldwide. Not only is this 308 GTB presented with a rare and desirable toolkit, jack kit and brocade document wallet, but it has also just benefitted from a recent and comprehensive mechanical overhaul including a full belt change and is ready to be enjoyed as intended once again. It should also be noted that Classiche Certification was issued in 2007, meaning that this Vetroresina has to be a must-have for any vibrant and serious Ferrari collector, with your early inspection being welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the rare opportunity on offer here.Specification Make: FERRARI Model: 308 GTB VETRORESINA Year: 1976 Chassis Number: 20001 Registration Number: WJO 125R Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 78482 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Beige HideClick here for more details and images
In superbly original condition, just 25,000 miles, with full service history and from 32-years ownership. In 1986, the original Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a blue-collar hero able to humble true sports cars. In 1988, Ford introduced the Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, a more ‘discreet’ version, built using the four-door Sapphire bodyshell, first with the same rear-wheel drive layout as the three-door original, and then later with four-wheel drive; but even with a more restrained exterior, a plush velour interior and an executive four-door shell, the Sapphire was far from dull. The early rear-wheel drive cars had 204bhp from the YBB engine (205 block), a T5 gearbox, 7" x 15" lattice alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, side skirts and Recaro seats. The rear-wheel drive cars could hit 60mph in 6.1 seconds. Despite the extra power and potential for greater traction, the later 4x4 Sapphire was slower to 60mph, reaching the speed in 6.6 secs. Approximately 13,140 2WD Sapphire examples were produced during 1988-1989; all were assembled in Ghenk, Belgium, with UK-built Ford-Cosworth engines. The car presented here is a 1989 Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth (2WD) and is in super original, unmolested condition. First registered on 18th August 1989, this superb example has covered just over 25,000 miles within the same family since it was just two years old. Due to the owner's poor health, this Sapphire remained unused and garaged for over 20 years. A combination of diligent ownership, minimal use (due to circumstance) and sheer preservation, now means this ‘Fast Ford’ is in collector-quality condition. We are informed that this exceptional car still retains its original factory-fitted panels, factory-etched glass and its original paint throughout. The interior is described as showing virtually no wear on the switchgear or surfaces. Likewise, all the dials and switchgear are said to function correctly, there are no cracks or UV damage to the dashboard and the original Recaro seats remain in beautiful condition. The boot contains its original Dunlop Sport spare wheel and factory-fitted jack whilst the parcel shelf is straight and free from any aftermarket speaker holes. The original electronic sound system, ECU2 (including power amplifier) are also still in situ, whilst the factory-fitted 15" wheels are shod with period Pirelli P600 tyres. The brakes have been fully recommissioned, benefiting from new rear calipers, brake fluid and discs/pads.The accompanying service history file includes the original Ford service book, owner’s handbook, radio operation manual, numerous invoices, two Ford keys, old tax discs and MOT history certificates. If you are looking for an unmolested, original RS Cosworth, this is probably one of the worthiest candidates currently available. The lighter and rarer version of the Sapphire, this example is one for the Ford connoisseur and is offered at an attractive price guide, offering the new owner membership of the exclusive club of RS ownership.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA SAPPHIRE RS COSWORTH 2WD Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WF0FXXGBBFJS34294 Registration Number: G399 MGH Transmission: Manual Engine Number: JS34294 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 25115 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
The 1996 'Grand Sport' was the ultimate development of the fourth generation of Chevrolet's legendary Corvette. Introduced in 1984, after a one year model hiatus, the fourth-generation (C4) Corvette modernised Chevrolet's halo model, dragging it out of the regulation and emission-choked doldrums and boasting many new electronic features including a digital dashboard. The C4 would carry Chevrolet through the 1980s and early 1990s with highlights including the 'One-Millionth' Corvette and the introduction of the ZR-1,which took the Corvette, for the first time in many years, back to the top of the muscle-car performance pile. For its final year of production in 1996, Chevrolet introduced a special model to help the C4 go out with a bang prior to the introduction of the new-for-1997 C5. Named 'Grand Sport' in honour of the five lightweight Corvette racers that Zora Arkus Duntov designed in 1963 prior to Chevrolet’s official exit from motorsport, the C4's swansong was a limited-edition of 1,000 cars. All were painted a distinctive Admiral Blue Metallic with a wide Arctic White centre stripe and a pair of red hash stripes over the left front wheel, with motivation being provided by a 'one-year-only' 330bhp 5.7-litre LT4 V8 paired to the desirable 6-speed manual transmission. This superb example was sourced directly from the US by its present and fanatical owner who looked long and hard before securing this low-mileage (less than 14,000 at the time of viewing) example with it being one of just 810 Coupés (just one of 217 with the Torch Red interior and one of only 91 with the desirable F45 suspension). It’s in immaculate and original condition throughout with the only addition to standard being Corsa rear exhaust boxes. Complete with a comprehensive service history, all books, an original sales brochure and advertising poster and, unbelievably, the original build sticker is still in place attached to the fuel tank. This rare Corvette would be a welcome addition to any American car Collector's stable, an opportunity not to be missed.NB. UK-supplied P1 recently mechanically refreshed and in excellent condition throughout. Built at Subaru's Fuji Heavy Industries plant in Japan and honed by rally royalty, Prodrive, the Impreza P1 was always destined to become the hugely desirable modern classic that we rightfully see it as today. Built in a limited run of just 1,000 cars, every one featured the iconic Blue Mica paintwork, Anthracite 17" OZ racing wheels and a plethora of upgrades and unique features. It's easy to see why the P1 has gained such a cult following.Based on the two-door bodyshell, with aerodynamics enhanced by Peter Stevens of McLaren F1 fame, beefier running gear and a fabulous suspension setup by Prodrive, the P1 has more in common with the legendary Impreza 22B than its larger four-door Impreza WRX contemporaries. Developed with British B-roads in mind, by the very same company which helped the likes of Colin McRae, Petter Solburg and Richard Burns win World Rally Championships, the 'Prodrive One' was intended to counter the wave of grey-import STI Type Rs arriving from Japan.Upgrades to the P1 were extensive, but not intrusive. The list includes a more powerful 280bhp engine (up 69bhp from a standard Impreza Turbo), mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with longer gearing and ABS brakes meaning the difference between a standard Impreza and a P1 is minimal. In addition to the 17" titanium-finish alloy wheels and rally-proven suspension, further upgrades include a big-bore exhaust and a quick-shift gear linkage. This particular UK-registered P1 (#0961/1000) has clearly led a cherished and much cared-for life, presenting superbly as you would expect from one of the most sought after Subaru derivatives. It benefits from a full engine refresh with more recent works noted, including a new Kevlar cambelt, new water pump, rear diff seals, and fresh fluids throughout including the diffs and gearbox, utilising industry-leading Millers Oils products. The braking system has also been flushed and refilled with RBF 600 high-performance fluid with a full four-wheel alignment completed to ensure that everything is pointing in the right direction. To enhance the already impressive specification of the P1, several subtle modifications have been carried out including an uprated turbo, a Roger Clark Motorsport lightened flywheel and pulley set, a front-mounted intercooler and oil cooler, uprated injectors and an uprated 3-point boost solenoid valve. Roger Clark Ltd. also supplied and fitted the first set of DEFi gauges imported into the UK and naturally the engine electronics have been remapped to provide the required synergy between all components. The car is accompanied by an extensive service history with stamped service book, numerous invoices and general paperwork and the original rear light clusters remain with the car and will be handed over to the new custodian on successful purchase. A large flowerpot with a sculptural image made in an oriental motif is a large bowl with a high cylindrical body, resting on a flat pedestal (four-bladed) and supported by two fairy-tale animals with the head of a dragon and the legs of a bird. Fancy polychrome coloring with geometric and other patterns is made in bright and contrasting colors. The surface of the pot is decorated with multi-colored friezes in relief with stylized cartouches, inlaid with ivy leaf motifs, edged with pearl friezes, the upper edge of the pot is decorated with 8-pointed stars. In general, the ornamental pattern is formed by decorative elements characteristic of similar porcelain paintings of this era. The glaze coating gives the item shine. The author of the sketch of the flowerpot model is A.S. Kaminsky (1829-1897), Moscow architect and artist, professor at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, husband of P. M. Tretyakov's sister (founder and owner of the art gallery of the same name). For the first time such a flower pot was made at a factory in the Tver province, which belonged to S.I. Maslennikov in the 1880s (the factory was founded by Auerbach). Maslennikovs factory was famous in Russia for its majolica products used to decorate chapels, as well as mugs made for the coronation of Emperor Alexander III. After a fire occurred at the factory in 1889, it was acquired by M.S. Kuznetsov, and its owner went to work for the new owner, where he worked until 1896. As M.S. Kuznetsov practiced, along with the purchase of the factory he stipulated the right to use and repeat the factory's old models. Sometimes, with such a purchase, he also stipulated the use of an old production mark (for example, the Gardner plant - the use of the last trademark of the enterprise with a double-headed eagle, the use of surviving models of products for the manufacture of repetitions; the Auerbach plant - the image of a double-headed eagle in the trademark). Under the leadership of Kuznetsov, the company began producing majolica products in 1885. Presumably, in the early 1890s, M.S. Kuznetsov's enterprise produced a small batch of S.M. Maslennikov's flowerpots intended for public sale. An identical vase is kept in the collection of the State Historical Museum in Moscow (GIM No. 112833). - A vase of a similar style was presented at the Russian Art'' auction at Sothebys on November 30, 2016, lot 126A Majolica, textured processing, painting with enamel paints. Mark of the M.S. Kuznetsov factory in the Tver province, Vyshnevolotsk district, Chernyatka village (former S.I. Maslennikov factory). The production mark is embossed and made in dough. The model number indicated in the price list of the factorys products is 671 (in the test) and the foundrys index (?) is 26 (in the test). The condition of the item is very good. A large porcelain decorative plate with a genre scene made in the technique of polychrome painting, located in the mirror of the plate and a stylized Russian-style leaf ornament along the flat side of the dish. The picturesque painting of the plate is made by hand. On the relief edge of the side of the plate, gold and blue decorative stripes are applied. Such decorative decoration and a flat side give the plate the appearance of a genre picture, framed in a beautiful painted frame. The reverse side of the plate is decorated along its side with a golden cover and an inscription with the name of the painting plot. The genre scene in the center of the plate is made to the motive of the Russian epic Mikula Selyaninovich, as evidenced by the inscription on the bottom of the dish - the epic Mikula Selyaninovich. The episode of the summoning of Mikula Selyaninovich by the bogatyr Volga Svyatoslavich to collect taxes is depicted. Typical is the image of the epic hero not in elegant boots, but in simple peasant bast shoes. Some researchers of the Russian epic interpret this scene as a meeting of the hunter god with the plowman god. This interpretation is due to the fact that Mikula Selyaninovich in Russian culture personified the god of agriculture. In the lower left part of the genre picture is the signature of the artist-ceramist, presented in the form of a monogram consisting of Latin and Russian capital block letters DB (unknown artist of the Kuznetsov factory). The plate is part of a series of several similar plates decorated on the theme of the Russian folk epic (at least 9 pieces), made in the Russian style in the second half of the 19th century (1870-1880s) at the Tver faience factory of M.S. Kuznetsov. The Tver faience factory was acquired by M.S. Kuznetsov in 1870, which already under the first owner and founder of the factory (the Auerbach family) became famous in Russia for products in the pseudo-Russian style. A series of epic plates from the Tver factory may have been exhibited at the Polytechnic Exhibition of 1889. Production mark of the factory M.S.
