A German Third Reich Luftwaffe Dagger, First Pattern, the 30.5cm double edge nickel plated steel blade faintly etched with maker's mark F.& A. Helbig GAEFLER Steinbach, the hilt with gilt sunwheel swastika to the langet on one side, with wire bound blue leather grip and disc pommel (lacks sunwheel swastika), the blue leather scabbard with nickel mounts and chain hanger (af). The plating on the blade is worn and flaking off. Wear to the finish on the hilt. One side of the langet and the disc pommel are lacking the sunwheel swastikas. The scabbard has a hole to the tip of the chape. The leather is worn and shabby, with some losses.
