1972 Triumph T120R BonnevilleReg. no. WNC 13LFrame no. CG 49837Engine no. CG 49837In 1971 the Bonneville was almost a totally new bike with only the engine being carried over from 1970, and not since the engine changed to Unit construction in 1963 had such an extensive redesign taken place. While all the attention was on the new frame and running gear, the engine also had to have some necessary attention at the last minute since it wouldn't fit into the new frame. Several items were redesigned such as the cylinder bolts and the rocker covers, modifications that allowed the engine to fit, but these changes also proved beneficial in improving top end stress and eased maintenance. The matching engine and frame numbers indicate this Triumph was manufactured in March 1972 and it was first registered on the 26th January 1973. This lovely bike has been upgraded with the front forks incorporating hydraulically operated caliper and disc brakes that were an option in 1973 and standard fit 1974 on, stainless steel mudguards front and rear and Boyer Bransden electronic ignition. This bike has not been used for some time and will require the usual checks and recommissioning prior to use.Comes with – a current V5C.

1989 Yamaha XTZ 750 Super TenereReg. no. F198 THYFrame no. 3LD004750Engine no. 3LD004750Late to the Paris Dakar replica party, Yamaha arrived with what would turn out to be one of the best bikes in the group. It was built around the all new five valve parallel twin that proved to be a flexible, punchy unit that certainly gave the Honda Africa Twin a run for its money. After spending its first 12 years overseas, this example was imported into the UK in 2002 from where its extensive history file starts. The bike has recently been subject to a general overhaul starting at the rear end with the brakes, tyres, wheels etc. and moving forward, the engine has been checked and the carbs cleaned. At the front end the callipers were stripped ready to be rebuilt but unfortunately the project was put on hold and not finished. This bike appears to have been very well looked after, the paintwork and panels are in excellent condition and the owner believes that apart from a new battery, some brake caliper parts, putting the panel work and other pieces that are all present back on, there is little to do to bring this bike back to its former glory.Comes with – a current V5C, the original owner’s manual, MOT records from 2002 to 2018, some old tax discs, various receipts and the service information sheets.
1969 Ford Cortina Mk. II Savage Transmission: manualMileage:937533.4 litre Essex V6 Ric Wood engineOwned by our vendor since 1972Well-known to the Savage Register and clubSold from the estate of Alan MonkleyThe Ford Cortina Savage was the incarnation of racing driver Jeff Uren and produced by his own company, Race Proven Limited, who took a Ford Cortina saloon and ‘shoehorned’ the Essex V6 three litre engine into the vehicle. Jeff Uren had raced for and managed the Ford Works team before joining the Willment race team, which fielded Ford Falcons, Galaxies, Cobras, GT40s, and, most famously, the humble Cortina Mk. I. Uren was responsible for the development of the Willment Sprint GT Mk. I Cortina. The gearbox was taken from the Ford Corsair 2000E. Weber carburettor, uprated brakes, electric cooling fan, differential, dampers, additional fuel tank and exhaust were all modifications together with the dashboard, alloy wheels and badges made for this unique motor vehicle. The first car to have the Savage treatment (by dropping in a Ford 3.0 litre Essex V6 engine and re-engineering the suspension) was the Mk. II Cortina; this then progressed to Mk. IIIs, Mk. IVs and even a one-off Mk. V Cortina. A review in Autocar, August 1967 of the Mk. II stated it really does hitch its skirts and get moving in the open roads in a manner that will leave practically everything else standing while Motorsport Magazine stated, ‘The outstanding feature of the Savage is how enjoyable, yet effortless, it is to drive.’ First registered in February 1969, this spectacular example of the rare Cortina Savage is presented in silver with black vinyl roof and that inconspicuous bonnet scoop. The trim is black with wood veneer dash and in very good order. This car commonly seen at shows and events with Mr. Monkley and was owned by him from 1972. The engine built by Ric Wood has been bored out to 3.4 litre and was fully rebuilt in 2006, it sits in a stunning engine bay coupled to a stunning fully nut and bold show quality example. The history file accompanying this car is not surprisingly also comprehensive with history back to when Mr. Monkley purchased the car. Also boasting a Simpson exhaust system, this car is well-known to the Savage Register and owners club and possibly one of the best examples money can buy, the bonnet scoop alone is enough to hint at the capability of Savage Cortina’s but behind the wheel they are something else. Viewing of this Savage is strongly advised as with all three of the examples from Mr. Monkley estate offered with Historics.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
2000 Mercedes-Benz CL600 AMG Transmission: automaticMileage:104752The CL Class is the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz car range. It continued to follow the same development cycle as the S-Class, though riding on a shorter wheelbase and offered with only the higher-output powertrains. It was the first Mercedes to feature Active Body Control, Bi-Xenon headlights and, on the early V12 models such as this one, it employed Active Cylinder Control. This shut down one bank of cylinders under light engine loads enabling it to achieve better fuel economy than the V8 CL500. Not bad for a car with a six litre V12 developing 367bhp and yielding a Soyuz-launching 0-60mph time of 5.9 seconds. It is as a Grand Tourer that this model is primarily designed for though. With more rear seat space than many executive Saloons, a huge boot and a truly cosseting driving environment, the CL is one of the most soothing cars you could hope to take on a long trip. The performance is remarkable and the turbine-smooth V12 is, frankly, epic. This example is presented in silver with black leather interior and comes with electric sunroof, heated electric memory seats to the front, satellite navigation, CD player and air conditioning. Powered by the smooth and quiet but mighty V12, this car is in good condition and still so sumptuous. These luxurious coupés were extremely expensive when first manufactured and today this car is offered without reserve – simply a must!Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1999 Mercedes-Benz SL320 Transmission: automaticMileage:59891Three things you can be sure of when acquiring a Mercedes-Benz; build quality, innovation and reliability. Or QIR as it is often referred to in the ‘trade’. From the advent of the Pagoda in the 1950s though to Alexa Carrington-style (R107) in the 1980s, the Bremen engineers had a tough act to follow. But, with the launch of the R129 in 1989, they had clearly mastered the act of reinventing the wheel! Quality and reliability are a given now, but innovation really took the motoring press by storm. Controlled electronic damping and an automatically expanding roll-over bar as well as fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats. While the SL boasted a more powerful engine, stopping power was conversely aided by anti-locking braking for added reassurance. This lovely metallic silver SL R129 was first registered on 29th July 1999 and boast just five owners since new. The car is complemented by full grey leather trim with electrically adjustable memory seats and the desirable panoramic hardtop. A car that has been predominantly garaged when not in use, the vendor states ‘it is an exceptionally clean car and at the point of consignment everything was working as it should’. T432 RMX is offered with two keys, the original book pack, hardtop cover and a clean MoT test certificate with no advisories which is valid until September 2022.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1969 Wolseley 1300 Mk. II Transmission: manualMileage:47134Alec Issigonis will be best remembered for the Mini and the Morris Minor, but arguably one of his greatest successes was ADO16, the BMC/British Leyland family saloon of the 1960s and 1970s, with its incredibly spacious interior within compact overall dimensions, its superb fluid cushion ride and its mix of models from bargain Austin and Morris through sophisticated Wolseley, gentlemanly Riley, sporting MG and 1300GT, and toff’s Vanden Plas Princess. This 1300 Mk. II is an example of what is considered the best of the Wolseley ADO16 with more luxurious trim, twin carbs, wood dash and a distinctive strip speedometer. Presented with a Sand bodywork and complementary trim, this 50 year old car boasts its original chrome and paint in good order due to the fact it has been garaged and used sparingly its entire life, indeed a hark back to times when the family car was the most treasured of assets. The interior includes Britax Auto-Lok (inertia reel) seat belts and is stunning and even the driver’s seat barely looks used. The veneered wood dash still has its, as-new, gloss and the distinctive strip speedometer, so much a feature of the ADO16 and looks like new. The twin-carb 1300 engine produced a healthy 65bhp, only 5bhp below the highest output engine fitted to an ADO16 when new. The engine has recently been removed, the engine bay restored, new clutch and all oil seals and rubber mounts replaced, so this is still a lively little car that will easily keep pace with modern traffic. Its first owner clocked up 18,000 miles in 16 years before selling it to Mr and Mrs Leo Hill who have kept it in the family ever since. Used by their daughter for some years, it reverted to their care and for decades attended shows with the Wolseley Register of which its owners were keen members. The vehicle has completed multiple times the London to Brighton classic runs and been the winner of the Wolseley National Show, it was a well-travelled car at the local and national shows over its lifetime. We are informed that recently new rear brake cylinders, master cylinder seals, rear brake pipes and flexible hoses, fuel lines, air filter, engine oil and filter and battery were all fitted. The car has an MoT test certificate which is valid until October 2022 and has no advisories.Guide Price £6,000 - £9,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Transmission: manualMileage:78364The Porsche 911 shape and engineering methodology has not changed much since the very first model, the 1939 Series 64. It has proved reliable and, with the finest designers available, has grown in reputation according to developing trends around it. It has proved itself in motorsport just as it has on the French Riviera. In recent years, Porsche breathed life into a new generation of 911, the 996. 2004 saw the launch of the 997 with improved styling, larger 18” wheels and an increase in power. The 997 C4S was, and still is, widely regarded as the greatest non-turbo version of the 911 with the four-wheel drive system providing the grip that ensured stable handling and predictable cornering. The Carrera offered today is presented with the best possible specification, it benefits from four-wheel drive and is an ‘S’ model with larger 19” wheels, a 3.8 litre engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, sports suspension and a sports exhaust are included as standard. Offered with two sets of keys and recently serviced. The extensive options list includes Bose upgraded stereo, satellite navigation and telephone preparation, extended leather including wingback/hardback seats with full heated electric memory functionality, a Sports Chrono Plus package as well as a full black leather interior and Alcantara roof lining. The service history is, importantly, comprehensive with stamps from both main agents and specialists which include the important borescope checks, condensers, heat shields and RMS/IMS maintenance. The terrific performance on offer combined with reliability and build quality narrow down the choice of sports cars on offer to the Porsche 997 and this represents a superb example.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1992 Lancia Hyena Zagato Transmission: manualMileage:23000The Hyena was built on the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 1 and was designed to be a limited-run production coupe paying tribute to the Delta and its phenomenal competition success. In the early 1990’s, Holland based Lusso Service, inspired by the peak of Zagato’s collaboration with Lancia in the 1960’s, decided to create something that would rekindle that collaboration. The brief was to design a two-door coupé incorporating Zagato’s ‘double-bubble’ roof and was completed by Marco Pedracini of the Zagato Style Centre and unveiled at the 1992 Brussels motor show.Initially there were plans to build around 500 examples, but this was quickly adjusted to 75, with only 25 Hyena’s completed due to unexpectedly high production costs. The manufacturing was incredibly expensive, 25 Delta’s were purchased and shipped to Holland where the body and interiors were removed. Next, the cars were sent to Zagato in Milan, Italy to be fitted with new aluminium coupé bodies before returning to Holland where Lusso Service completed the assembly. This manufacturing process led to a price of over $75,000!The Hyena weighed 1,150kgs, 15% lighter than the production Delta Integrale, whilst retaining it’s 1,995 cc engine, five-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive system, resulting in a rapid 0-60 mph time of 5.4 seconds! This Hyena was manufactured in 1992 but due to the high price tag and lack of demand when new, remained stored until 2001 unregistered. When collector interest began to grow it was imported by Walkers to the UK with the odometer showing just 102 kilometres. Still awaiting its first owner the car was offered to our vendor who was taken by the Zagato styling and limited production thus purchased this example and has owned ever since as the first private owner. In our vendors tenure the car has been dry stored and used sparingly with only 34,000 now shown - circa 23,000 miles from new. In Hyena circles this example is indeed a well-known car, featured in Auto Italia magazine as the cover car in Viva Lancia, this car attended the Lancia centenary celebrations in Turin and was entered into the concourse event eventually being awarded one of the best in show with 10 invited onto the podium. Presented in red coachwork with black trim this completely original example has been cared for by leading specialists Auto Integrale in Berkshire, and thus is offered with a detailed service history. An incredibly rare, capable and very collectable motorcar which coupled two of the most iconic names in 90’s motoring, Integrale and Zagato, twinning style with performance in a package that is rarely seen on the road now that these rare cars are being snapped up by collectors worldwide due to their appreciating values. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1927 AC 6 Aceca Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:77500Although AC’s reputation was established by John Weller’s famous overhead-camshaft six fitted to this example, its early offerings relied on proprietary four-cylinder engines. The AC chassis featured quarter-elliptic springing front and rear, a three-speed gearbox in unit with the rear axle and worm final drive. Front wheel brakes were optional at first, standard issue from 1927. Rated at 12hp for taxation purposes the four-cylinder AC remained in production until 1926, the firm relying exclusively on the Weller 15.7hp six thereafter. This lovely highly original example has been in the same family ownership for over 60 years and is presented in beige/black with brown leather interior, which is pleasantly patinated. In running condition, this wonderful coupé can boast the fact that all its controls and gauges are functioning including the clock, which is rare with cars of this age. Its six cylinder engine is mated to a three speed gearbox integral with the rear axle. The brake system is rod operated with fitted front brakes as an option. It has rear chassis and wing steps which provide the access to the ‘dicky’ seat to the rear, it has wind down side windows, ‘pull over’ hood with easy peg fixings on windscreen top rail (the hood could do with some attention). The car has been re-wired with armour cable incorporating a master battery isolation switch, and its rear mounted fuel tank with gauge, connects to a fuel line filter which in turn connects to a scuttle mounted Autovac. It also comes with an original ‘hints for owners’ handbook in well used condition although the present owner has compiled some technical manuals for ‘power train’, ‘body and chassis’ and ‘general’ which are so useful. A fun classic in original condition.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1965 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:68562Introduced in 1962, Alfa Romeo's 106 Series 2600 range was a direct replacement for the preceding 102 Series 2000 cars. The latter's chassis design and body styles were retained, with minor revisions and improvements, but in place of the old, long-stroke, 2.0 litre, four-cylinder engine was a new, 2584cc, twin-cam six clearly descended from the immensely successful Giulietta. A maximum output of 145bhp was claimed for this unit when installed in the Sprint Coupé and Spider, good enough for a top speed of around 200kmh, and Cars Illustrated magazine reckoned this magnificent power unit ‘one of the smoothest, quietest running sixes, irrespective of the speed at which it is running’. Carrozzerias Touring and Bertone were responsible for the 2600 Spider and Sprint Coupé respectively; both of which looked like their 2000 predecessors. First registered on 18th October 1965, this late model 2600 Sprint presents very well in metallic blue. Having benefitted from a photo documented, ground up restoration some years ago, in 2018, the car enjoyed significant expenditure on its mechanics, including a full engine rebuild, an upgrade to triple Weber carburettors, along with a new clutch and radiator. Whilst at Tipton Garage in Devon - who carried out most of the service work in recent years including the engine rebuild - a new set of Michelin X tyres were also fitted to the car. Out of the 6,999 2600 Sprints Alfa Romeo produced, only 596 of them were supplied in right hand drive making this car a rare example. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and his love for it can be seen in the history file where, apart from the many receipts for work carried out, photos, brochures etc, the vendor also kept a diary of his usage with notes about the car which he is only selling now due to his age and becoming unable to use it as much.Supplied with its V5C registration document, original brochure, usage diary, impressive history file and photos of the car during its ground up restoration and at shows. Handsome and elegant, these cars were Alfa Romeo’s flagship models in the early 1960’s and still ooze sophistication today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
1969 Marcos 1600GT Transmission: manualMileage:89131In 1966 the Marcos GT changed from using the expensive Volvo 1800cc unit to more affordable Ford 1500cc and 1600cc ones. The glass fibre bodied Marcos 1800 GT had been a sensation when first shown at the 1964 Racing Car Show. This was to be the design that would become familiar to sports car enthusiasts for more than 30 years, even though the original plywood chassis would later be replaced by a steel chassis and the futuristic scalloped dashboard also vanished after a few years. The plywood chassis was glued together from 386 separate pieces and was not only light and strong, but also required a minimum up front investment to construct. The extremely low Marcos required a nearly supine driving position and fixed seats, mounted lower than the floor of the car. In return, the entire pedal set could be moved fore and aft with a knob on the dashboard.Without a doubt, simply the best 1600GT we have ever seen. The supplied Marcos heritage records and correspondence in the impressive history file shows this beautiful Marcos was first supplied to Franco Paulo Pizzalon Esq. of Mountsorrel, Leicester on Monday 30th December 1968 having been ordered just a couple of months earlier on 5th November 1968. Ordered new in the same colours it still sports of Porsche Orange with black trim, the car was lovingly restored after the vendor acquired the car in 2013. Painted to a high standard, it looks as if the car has been painted much more recently. The interior was also completely retrimmed by Auto Lounge in Buckinghamshire and the car sits on a set of very rare period magnesium Minilites.First registered on 6th January 1969, the car was clearly loved and used a lot. The file shows a record of various maintenance work carried out throughout its early life. At some point between 1972 and 1975 the Ford crossflow unit was swapped for a Lotus Twin cam engine. Indeed, the original advert and the engine’s specification are included in the history file. It shows that the twin cam was built to a high specification with a ported and polished Mk. 2 head, steel main caps, competition bearings, Tufrided crank and flywheel, Powermax pistons and more. A unique period modification which makes perfect sense to the ethos of the Marcos brand. The car truly does present incredibly well and is reported to run and drive just as well. The car is supplied with its UK V5C registration document showing only 3 former keepers -the first two being Mr. Pizzalon and his son and the third, a friend of theirs. The vendor bought the car in 2013 and started the full restoration from there. The accompanying history file includes the original sales brochure, period Motor Week article, Ford tuning guide, old MoT test certificates and many receipts. A unique example of what must be the best in class of one of the true giant slayers of British 1960’s automotive ingenuity. 1959 Triumph 3TA Transmission: paddleMileage:30925The Triumph Twenty-One (also known as the 3TA) was the first of the Triumph unit construction twin cylinder motorcycle. Rebranded as the Triumph 3TA in 1959, it continued in production until 1966 when it was survived by the Triumph T90. The engine was a classic Edward Turner with dry sump lubrication and a single Amal Monobloc carburettor. The 'Twenty-One' name spelt out in full chrome on the side panels is thought to either celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of Triumph Engineering Co. Ltd. or the US displacement in cubic inches equating to 350cc.Originally registered on 1st April 1960, this extremely well-prepared Triumph has been restored and presents in very good order. The paintwork is virtually unmarked as is the chromework. Benefitting from being a matching numbers motorcycle and supplied with a V5C registration document, this 350cc 3TA is very collectable and certainly deserves further inspection especially given the popularity of these iconic British motorcycles.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2012 Land Rover Defender 110 XS TD Transmission: manualMileage:1755The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider track axles are the most noticeable changes. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin.Supplied new by Stratstone Land Rover, Mayfair, this one owner from new example was registered new on 15th December 2012 and has covered a mere 1,755 miles. The Indus silver metallic paintwork and leather interior are both in superb condition as you would expect for a car of this mileage. Fitted with various factory options including alloy wheels, seven forward facing seats, checker plating on both front wings and lamp guards. The XS specification also includes heated front seats, air-conditioning, electric front windows, and heated front and rear screens. An Alpine head unit has also been installed with satellite navigation and an Apple Lightning port and Bluetooth connectivity fitted. In excellent condition throughout the Defender is offered with its original owner’s manuals, service book, Clarion remote control and two keys with fobs. The most recent MoT test was on 28th January 2021 at 1,501 miles, which was a first-time pass with no advisories or defects and its most recent scheduled service was in July 2017 at 1,271 miles, where technicians at Stratstone Land Rover Tottenham Service Centre changed the engine oil, filters, brake fluid, transfer case fluid and the front and rear differential oils. This is surely the lowest mileage Defender available today and is an excellent opportunity to acquire what must be the best example on the market.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1954 Morris Minor Transmission: Mileage:Sir Alec Issigonis' concept was to combine the luxury and convenience of a good motor car at a price affordable by the working classes. The Minor was a roomy vehicle with superior cornering and handling characteristics. More than 1.3 million of the lightweight, rear-wheel drive cars were eventually produced, mainly in Cowley, Oxfordshire, becoming Britain's first car to sell a million units with export around the world. Production continued in Birmingham until 1972.This Morris Minor two-door Saloon is described as being in good condition throughout. Reported by the vendor to be in good running order and a joy to drive. The car is finished in the classic colour combination of black with a red interior. This Morris Minor is supplied with a V5C registration document and a service history. A classic example of this iconic piece of British Motoring history that is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. Please note these are library images of a Morris Minor and images of the actual car will be added in due courseInterested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1990 Mercedes-Benz 280GE Transmission: automaticMileage:110000The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. The G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles in their history with a span of 32 years. It was developed as a military vehicle from a suggestion by the Shah of Iran and offered as a civilian version in 1979. The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grilles and a cable winch. Fuel injection became available in 1982 when the 230GE was introduced in Turin, along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tyres and wheel arches. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard.First registered on 14th November 1990 and offered in black with the original tartan grey Mercedes trim, this desirable long wheelbase 280GE with the 2.8 litre petrol engine is mated to a recently serviced automatic transmission. This example also boasts a ‘jump seat’ to the rear so in total it has space for six passengers. Featuring a recent service which included new front brake pads, this Mercedes is offered with the original owner’s manual, a raft of receipts and service invoices coupled to historic MoT test certificates. This 280GE boasts just four previous owners and an MoT test certificate valid until June 2022.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2008 Aston Martin DB9 Transmission: automaticMileage:50998The sleek superform aluminium body of the DB9 was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. It was powered by a third generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 and has a top speed of 186mph. The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual diecast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. The DB9 bodyshell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. The fine detail of finishing is typified by the starter button made of glass and sand etched with the Aston Martin wings logo.Originally registered on 9th September 2008, this DB9 is finished in rare Tempest Blue with Phantom Grey and Moonshadow leather interior with Piano Black dashboard. Fitted with cruise control and Bluetooth as an option. A well stamped service book accompanies this Aston Martin with the last service in November of this year with a main dealer. This DB9 is supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate. This example will give any driver the buzz of Aston Martin pedigree alongside one of the most iconic sounds of any modern car with the glorious V12 engine. Attractively priced and fabulous value for money, this is the opportunity to own a superbly built British sports car without the concern of depreciation and in a car that looks equally as good today as it did in 2008.*Interested parties should note that the private plate for this vehicle will be retained and the DVLA will provide an age-related plate (we believe the original which is RX58 EXO)Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:62395The E-Type Series III was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 litre, V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. Optionally, an automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available. The brand new V12 engine came with four Zenith carburettors and was claimed to produce 272bhp, more torque, and a 0-60mph acceleration of less than seven seconds, which was phenomenal for the price of the car at that time, considering its competition in the market place. The short wheelbase fixedhead coupé body style was discontinued, with the Series III available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. These models were easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. It is thought that only 7,990 convertibles and 7,297 fixedhead cars were produced. This superb right hand drive Jaguar spent many years of its life on Guernsey. The current vendor lived there for a while and brought the car with him when he returned to the mainland. Having owned the car since 1982 and with oceans of family memories, he has decided with a heavy heart that it is time for this E-Type to find a new owner for the first time in nearly forty years. The car was restored in 1985 and again in 2018; the vendor can only be described as fastidious and has always ensured this Series III Roadster is in excellent order. The Primrose coachwork is in superb condition as is all of the brightwork and, with good consistent panel gaps, it is clear the restoration work has been carried out to a high standard. The chrome wire wheels are unmarked and she sits on a very good set of tyres. Fitted with manual transmission we are advised she drives as good as she looks. Supplied with a UK V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate without advisories valid until 3rd June 2022, together with a good history folder. This is a delightful example of an evocative British sportscar and what better way to celebrate 60 years of the Jaguar E-Type launch. 1971 Saab 96 V4 Transmission: manualMileage:61323The Saab 96 was manufactured and marketed from 1960 to January 1980, replacing the 93. The 96 featured aerodynamic two-door bodywork, four passenger seating and at first a two-stroke, three cylinder engine, later a four-stroke V4. The front end was lengthened for 1965 models, in preparation for a new engine, and the radiator was placed ahead of the engine rather than above and behind, a leftover from the thermosiphon cooling days. Both front and rear windows were enlarged slightly for 1968 models. The Saab 96 was driven most famously by Erik Carlsson in many international rallies, coming first in the 1960, 1961 and 1962 RAC Rallies and first in the 1962 and 1963 Monte Carlo Rallies. It was these successive, top-level victories that put the Saab 96 'on the map' and established its reputation for reliability and toughness. Carlsson also competed in the East African Safari Rally. Famous rallying names such as Simo Lampinen, Per Eklund, Pat Moss-Carlsson, Tom Trana, Stig Blomqvist and Carl Orrenius have also been connected with the Saab 96.This delightful Saab 96, first registered on 1st July 1971, is presented in red with retrimmed red and black vinyl seats and boasts a modern stereo. Owned and maintained by our enthusiastic vendor, this is a great entry level classic combining rally connotations from the great 96’s driven by Carlsson and Blomqvist with the practicality of four generous seats and a truly unique design. This long nose V4 version with the 1.5 litre 65 bhp engine is a slice of a bygone era and indeed manufacturer, as Saab ceased production altogether in 2014.Guide Price £3,000 - £6,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1968 Volvo P1800S Transmission: manualMileage:69500In December 1957, the first handbuilt P1800 prototype was driven to the headquarters of Karmann. Volvo had hoped that Karmann would be able to take on the tooling and building of the P1800 and they were ready to build it which meant that the first cars could hit the market as early as December 1958. But in February, Karmann's most important customer, Volkswagen, forbade Karmann to take on the job as they feared that the P1800 would compete with the sales of their own cars and threatened to cancel all their contracts if they took it on. This setback almost caused the project to be abandoned and it looked doomed until a press release surfaced with a photo of the car, putting Volvo in a position where they had to acknowledge its existence. These events influenced the company to renew its efforts with the car and it was presented to the public for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1960. Volvo turned to Jensen Motors, whose production lines were under-utilised and they agreed a contract for 10,000 cars. This elegant example has recently been repainted and presents in dark green with a superb new beige interior, including dashboard, carpets and upholstery. Accompanying this retro classic is a large history file containing many receipts and invoices and old MoT test certificates. This model was of course made famous by the 1960s series ‘The Saint’, starring Sir Roger Moore. Interestingly, Jaguar was first offered the opportunity to provide an E-Type for the TV series but declined. Volvo accepted and offered a P1800, leading to increased sales. This stunning Volvo is offered to auction with a V5C registration document and, although exempt by age, an MoT test certificate valid until February 2022 without advisories. These cars still turn heads today, displaying that wonderful styling and poise so typical of that era.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1960 Jensen 541R Transmission: manualMileage:60043At the start of the 1950's, Jensen had a sound commercial vehicle business providing bread and butter income and an exclusive car business making expensive Interceptor touring cars. The bodywork was mostly aluminium but as an experiment, Jensen had started making the large boot lids in a revolutionary material formed from hair-thin glass embedded in a resinous gel; glass fibre. The body was designed by Eric Neale in conjunction with Richard Jensen. First, he created the distinctive 'mouth' shape and the rest of the body flowed back from that point. A lattice of wooden body formers provided a reference over which skilled craftsmen beat a skin of aluminium. The finished car was exhibited at the 1953 Motor Show but there was one trick left up Jensen's sleeve; production cars were to be constructed of glass fibre. The first few production cars are just known as the 541. As production increased, the options available increased and a package incorporating the best extras was applied to the car marketed as the '541 Deluxe'. Rack and pinion steering was the latest innovation and was marketed as the 541R. The body changed at the same time with striking curves or strakes being added. These appeared over the rear wheel arches and on the bonnet leading to an air vent. In 1959, work started on creating a slightly larger 541, which would be better suited to long-distance cruising.Registered new on 20th July 1960, this UK supplied right hand drive example is the desirable and rare ‘R’ derivative. This Jensen has been laid up in a barn for many years and as such is offered as a full restoration project. Under the layers of dust its clear to see that this 541R is largely original, the two-tone red and white coachwork is still rather presentable as is the interior. Rarely do you see projects like this come to the open market and once completed we are sure it will be huge amounts of fun for the new custodian. This Jensen has had just four owners from new and is offered with its UK V5 registration document. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2000 Bentley Arnage Red Label Transmission: automaticMileage:79890Launched in 1998, the Arnage was manufactured in Crewe from 1998 to 2009 with its Rolls-Royce sibling, the Silver Seraph, introduced in the Spring of 1998. They were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980 when the Silver Spirit and Mulsanne models were introduced. The new Arnage (Green Label) was to be powered by a BMW V8 engine with Cosworth-engineered, twin-turbo chargers and the Seraph was to employ a BMW V12 engine. The Arnage Red Label was launched in October 1999 with the engine reverting back to Bentley power using the traditional V8 engine and a displacement of 6750cc. As part of the modification process, both Red and Green Label cars benefitted from expanded leg room in the cabin, stiffer bodyshells and larger wheels and brakes. This lovely example is presented in metallic Garnet Black with black leather interior and Wildberry piping. It comes with satellite navigation with remote control, Alpine stereo with six CD player and remote control, memory electric heated seats to the front, electric sunroof, electric windows, rear walnut picnic tables, sheepskin rugs to footwells, air conditioning and cruise control. The car is accompanied by all its books and a good service history comprising of a mixture of Bentley dealership and specialist services and all receipts are present, with the last service being carried out at 77,400 miles. These wonderful superior and luxurious classic Bentleys present such value for money considering their original sale price.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda Transmission: automaticMileage:13672In 1963, Mercedes-Benz debuted an all new roadster to replace the 190 SL and 300 SL - the 230 SL. The 230 SL 'Pagoda' was a stunning Paul Bracq designed two-seat convertible that followed Mercedes' new design language, featuring crisp lines and upright headlights. To save on weight, the bonnet, door skins, boot lid, and tonneau cover were all composed of aluminium. The nickname 'Pagoda' was quickly adopted thanks to the slightly concave roof on the optional removable hardtop that resembled a pagoda roof. In 1967, Mercedes introduced the third and final iteration of the 'Pagoda', the 280 SL, and it then became apparent that some cars don't change, they just get better. The 280 featured the same modified W111 chassis with a rear swing axle and independent front suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Power came from a 2.8 litre version of Mercedes inline-six and used Bosch fuel injection. These roadsters also have one of the most beautiful bodies produced in the 1960s and, thanks to their robust inline-six and their luxurious Mercedes interior, they are wonderful cars to be driven and enjoyed. This left hand drive example was delivered new to Namibia in 1970 and has had just two owners from new. The first owner enjoyed this Mercedes for some 30 years before the current vendor acquired the vehicle in 2000 while stationed in Namibia for work reasons. More recently the vendor has shipped the 280SL Pagoda back to the UK. Used occasionally in recent times, this Mercedes presents in good order and the body and chassis are in very good condition. The vendor reports that Mercedes-Benz specialists, Roger Edwards Motors Ltd inspected the 280 SL and reported that the chassis and body are in very good condition having spent all its life in either the dry desert climate or in de-humidified storage here in the UK. Having covered a mere 13,672 from new this Mercedes 280SL presented in green with Chestnut interior looks superb and is fitted with an upgraded Mercedes gearbox from a later model. This upgrade makes for a much smoother gear change and in our opinion significantly improves the driving experience. Offered with a history file including confirmation of UK taxes paid and a copy of the original build sheet from Mercedes-Benz. Interested parties should note that the UK registration document is currently with the DVLA and will be sent to the buyer following the auction.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
