A 19th Century oil on board portrait of John Edye (1789-1873), a naval surveyor / architect with HM service, elected a fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society in 1935 and author of "Calculation on the equipment and displacement of ships of war. He was also involved in the construction of The Agamemnon, the first steam ship of the line. Standing pose beside an open window with ship in sea, 39 x 29cm, gilt gesso frame. Together with memorial booklet, last will and testament and notification of the orde of the Bath. Uncle of William Henry Edye
A World War I aluminium and copper signet ring, inscribed 31/316 Zeppelin L.15. This inscription appears to relate to the First World War German L.15 Zeppelin, which was shot down near Purfleet on 31st March 1916, but not before inflicting damage during a series of Zeppelin raids which reigned terror on London

Suffragette Related Medals (2): Society of French Artistes medals d.53.5mm in silvered-bronze Salon de 1929 and gilt-bronze Salon de 1934, both named to the female artist Lily Delissa Joseph, an active Suffragette who whilst imprisoned in Holloway was unable to open an exhibition of her paintings in 1912. She was also the first woman in Britain to own and drive a car, and had some involvement in aviation. The 1929 medal EF holed with suspension ring, and the 1934 one EF with solder remnant 12 o'clock.

Historic fight as Turpin took the title from Hawkins to become the first non white holder of the British Title. Paterson v O'Sullivan 21/2/49. Palamino v Dave "Boy" Green World Welterweight Title 14/6/77. Plus rare large 30"x20" stadium poster at Leicester inc Joe Erskine, Johnny Prescott etc. (7)
GB - series of 17th century correspondence (Privatly Carried Letters) between James Sotheby and his Wife Mary Sotheby, first sent to Cheston (nr Ugborough South Devon) from London, later on Henley. 29/5/1651, 10/5/1653, 23/5/1653, 16/10/1654, 8/7/1659, 9/8/1662, 17/2/1665 sent to Chelmsford, mentioning that 'the sickness has increased' possibly refering to the Plague. 28/2?/1665, 26/3/1666, 10/4/1666, 26/4/1666 'sickness somewhat increased this week'. 5/5/1666 sickness spreading and his business in makeing a loss. This is a very unusual and very researchable series of early letters written during the Great Plague of London 1665-1666. (13)
GB - used collection in large black stockbooks, c1841-2003. Small number of surface printed with later issues fairly well represented inc definitives and commemoratives. Lacking in the higher value stamps. Very few first day cancels, many sets especially 1960's, with many FU examples, etc. (2)

Unusual collection from 1953 (first defs), 1958 Regionals, CEPT, NPY, Shakespeare, Churchill & range of different sets to 1970 (each pack containing UM stamps), also mailing covers used by Harrisons. Private limited production by the stamp printers as company publicity editions (approx 31 packs)
Newfoundland mint & used collection in green album, virtually complete inc high values and scarce items. Some partially stuck down mint stamps but could be removed with care. An original old time collection cat £3000+ approx. in addition several covers, some first day, and stock page of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland etc (qty)

Album of 1956 Olympic Games photographs includes more than 40 photographs of 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games venues, together with ephemera from the Games, including tickets, and first day covers, etc; together with a souvenir programme, a programme of a Symphony concert held in Melbourne at the time, etc.
