A fine used example of an 1840 1d black plate 7 with excellent margins, a useful collection of mid-period Australian and New Zealand stamps mint and used, three stock books of Scandinavian stamps, an album of USA first day postcards and a quantity of UK Queen Elizabeth II mint used and first day covers.
Two Billy and Charles and two other pieces typically found in the River Thames, framed and with ticket on the back which states 'These were found and dug up at Bush Hill by Joyce's father outside the Queen Elizabeth the First building, still being used by the council next to the alloments. They have been Check[ed] by the British Museum.', VF [4]

A Napoleonic Spadroon hilted short sword. Blade 24" curved with double edged clip point blade (some wear to blade edge at point) First eight inches decorated in the style of the time with sun, stars crossed flags and other symbols. Two slim engraved oblong langets. Spadroon type hilt with stirrup guard and quillon. Wirebound ivory (?) hilt. No scabbard. A lovely short sword circa 1760-1810. Viewing recommended. VGC for age.
Musket: An outstanding replica of a Brown Bess Musket. One of a limited edition of 100 and numbered 'No. 008'. The musket was produced as a limited edition in 1975 to commemorate the first shots being fired in the American Revolution April 19th 1775 at Lexington Green, Massachusetts. Polished steel barrel with PoW Feathers etched to breech section & 1775-1975 in a scroll. Case hardened lock and cock engraved 'No 008'. Handrail walnut fullstock with raised apron. Hallmarked silver mounts including: 'S' plate, buttplate, ramrod pipes and trigger guard. Steel ramrod. The whole piece made to the highest specifications as follows: Silver mounts- approx 2lbs of silver used all silver components hallmarked. Barrel 46" Calibre .75". Stock made from selected English walnut. Copied lock from the Long Island Pattern. An original booklet accompanies the musket. The original cost of this musket was £1600 in 1975. A collectors grade lot in outstanding condition and a rare limited edition complete with a Proof House certificate of deactivation. V.G.W.O & condition.
Pistol: A massive German Cavalry percussion, single shot pistol circa 1840 to 1855. Damascus barrel 10" bore approx 13 bore. Walnut stock with brass furniture. Sideplate regimentally marked 'K.H.D. 7. B.' (Kings Husaren Dragoon Regt) Steel backstrap marked 'No 18' & cut for shoulder stock. Heavy brass buttcap with lanyard ring. Stepped unbolted lock. Unusual sliding cross bolt safety. Steel rearsight. Heavy hammer. Scews & other parts all matching numbers '18'. Brass trigger guard. Very crisp lock on both first and second cock. A rare and outstanding pistol in collector's grade condition. VGWO & condition. No licence required.
Waterloo Medal 1815 with replacement clasp and ribbon bar, medal engraved to Lieutenant W S Smith 10th Royal Regt Hussars. During his career Captain William Slayter Smith received a sabre cut in the head and a pistol shot through the body in the famous charge by the 13th Light Dragoons at Campo Mayor 25 March 1811, he was again wounded in 1812. He later saved Lieut Gordon of the 7th Hussars on 17 June 1815 in Belgium from being killed or captured. Lieut Smith was directly involved in the capture of General Lauriston, aide-de-camp to Napoleon. He died at Ripon on 18 July 1865 aged 72. Note: His original Waterloo Medal was sold by DNW 5 April 2006. It is known that Officers could have two of the same medal as they were issued unnamed, an original that would be worn on special occasions and a second or third which would be worn while on service in case the first got lost or damaged. This example is original but engraved and not impressed, well polished as worn. An interesting piece. Fair/Fine Sold a/f
Military Medal (double issue) group with boxes of issue, ribbon bar and shoulder title, War Office letter re issue of an MM 7/2/1924. The first MM is named 201088 Pte E D Turner 2-4-R.Berks.R, the second named 201088 Pte E D Turner 2/4 R.Berks R, and the BWM & Victory (201088 Pte E D Turner R.Berks.R). MM L/G 27 June 1018 (Sunningdale). Award for March offensive, Battle of St Quentin, most likely for the fighting on 21st March at Marteville and at the line between Ellis Redoubt and Villecholes on 22nd March. EF (4)
