Henry Clifford 1821 - 1905, Submarine Telegraph Engineer, assistance engineer to Sir Charles Bright (First Atlantic Cable 1866). Henry Clifford was born in Hull and, as a young man, was in partnership with Thomas Brown and Edward Gibson. Clifford was also a noted marine artist (The National Maritime Museum at Greenwich has four of his oil painting This lot consists of: 1. 100 photographs, various sizes, mostly family and countryside but includes three orig cable laying vessels 8 x 5ins, 1870's. 2.
