Sir Peter Markham Scott (British, 1909-1989):Geese in flight over marshes, oil on canvas, signed lower right & dated 1935, H 49 x W 74 cm. Provenance: Label verso for Arthur Ackermann & Son. Note: The present picture is a significant early example of the work of the artist who held his first exhibition in London in 1933. A year after its execution, the multi-talented Scott was to represent Great Britain at sailing in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in the O-Jolle dinghy class. Gabriel Loppé (French, 1825-1913):The Matterhorn, oil on board, signed lower left & dated 14.7.98, H 29 x W 39 cm. Note: A French painter, photographer and mountaineer, Loppé became the first foreigner to be made a member of the Alpine Club in London. A self-taught artist, he was also the first painter to work at higher altitudes during climbing expeditions. His paintings were consequently celebrated for their atmosphere & spontaneity with many being sold to English climbers, such as the present vendor's parents.

B15603 steel centred three-piece split cane double handed salmon rod; together with a Hardys registered Universal reel fitting with agate first ring in three sections with a spare tips and a canvas slip; together with another two-piece split cane fishing rod by Moore of Liverpool, spare tip (shortened). Two very similar Mary Gregory cranberry glass, baluster shaped jugs with clear shell moulded handles, both decorated with figures in landscapes, together with a blue glass waisted jug with floral decoration and a green glass trumpet vase with applied shell decoration. (4) CONDITION REPORT: Mary Gregory jugs: big crack/damage to handle and body of first vase. Other jug appears ok, no significant damage. White enamel decoration very yellow/dirty. Surface scratches and wear. Two very minor hairlines to spout.
