The lot comprising a manuscript of Percy Bysshe Shelley's pastoral elegy Adonais written for the death of John Keats on lilac paper; a small poem regarding liquor signed with initials J. A. F., and two pages in a different hand, comprising tragic verse Lines on my Cousin Fanny regarding the death of the author's cousin Fanny, on a separate leave, a witty verse titled Programme for the week as announced by the Player of the First Fiddle, and over the page, Model for an Adonis, opening, 'Paint him, oh Paint him with each youthful grace, ere sorrow yet has dimm'd his lustrous brow'. These two leaves watermarked for F. Whatman Turkey Mill 1837. An interesting & unpublished collection of varied style, owing inspiration to the Romantic poets such as Lord Byron & Bysshe Shelley.

Wilfred Hardy (1938 - 2016) - a piece of highly detailed, gouache original artwork painted by Wilfred Hardy, featuring the 'De Havilland Mosquito', the world's first supersonic airliner. The artwork is the original piece created for card 17 in the series 'Castella: British Aviation' set of 30 cards, issued by Wills in 1994. Mounted, and accompanied by the published card. Signed to the bottom corner. Measuring approximately 30 cm x 42 cm including the mount. Wilfred Hardy (1938 - 2016) was a British artist who specialised in painting aircraft, producing posters and private commissions. He contributed many painted pages to Treasure, Look and Learn, Eagle and Speed and Power magazines. He also produced work for the Royal International Air Tattoo, and in 1979 he designed the special paint scheme for a Royal Air Force McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 which was to re-enact the Transatlantic flight of Alcock and Brown for the 60th anniversary of the crossing.

Churchman's (W.A & A.C), Cigarettes - Stars Of Variety (unproduced series c1946) - Original Artwork - Sandy Powell - an original artwork piece, completed by artists at Mardon, Son & Hall for production of the cigarette card series. Artwork size: 9.5x6", approx. Albert Arthur Powell MBE (1900 – 1982), known as Sandy Powell, was an English comedian best known for his radio work of the 1930s and for his catchphrase "Can you hear me, mother?" He first said this in a theatre in Coventry. Fifty years later, deciding he needed a rest from the business (he planned a cruise around the world with his wife, Kay White), he again said it in a Coventry theatre, for the last time.

Wills Cigarette Cards - a piece of highly detailed mixed media original artwork, created for the 'His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales' number 48 card from the set of 50 cigarette cards 'The Reign of H.M. King George V' issued by W.D. and H.O. Wills. Mounted. Measuring approximately 21 cm x 14.5 cm including the mount.  W.D. & H.O. Wills was a British tobacco manufacturing company formed in Bristol, England, and it was the first British company to mass-produce cigarettes. It was also one of the founding companies of Imperial Tobacco along with John Player & Sons.

An uncommon first edition of Sayers' commentary on the outbreak of the Second World War. 8vo.

A catalogue of coats of arms including examples of George II, Frederick Lewis Prince of Wales, Stanhope Earl of Chesterfield, Viscount St. John, Booth Earl of Warrington, Russell Duke of Bedford etc. Each numbered by hand. Each heraldic bookplate cut out of the original work and pasted into this example, with bookplate to verso by author. No title page or mention of printer bar the plate to rear pastedown, believed from the 1741 edition of this work. Paper covered boards, significant wear to the spine and loss to the boards, which are rubbed; extremities bumped, binding a little weak due to spine wear, with first plate loose but present. Approx. 179 examples included.

Publisher's orig. full cloth binding, spine a little discolour, odd light mark to boards, edges a touch spotted, occasional spotting internally, otherwise a smart first edition. 8vo. Unusually not published by William Collins & Son, this work was not available to purchase from shops upon publication, but rather using coupons collected from The Passing Show magazine. It first appeared in retail in 1936, now published by Collins Crime Club. Considered one of the more affordable pre-war Christies due to its method of purchase, it being a short story collection rather than a novel, & the lack of her iconic protagonists, Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple.
