The collector spoons are first issue post-war long type. Vendor advises this is a factory repaired item and returned in a DL1 clockwork box with repair label no. 25095. Box ref MW 1780 4,250 9/38. Some wear on corners of lid but probably the best example seen for a very long time. With corrugated wrapper might be original but is natural corrugated not coloured. From 1856 he was worked for and later a junior partner to Samuel Hanson, a cabinet maker and ‘antiquarian upholsterer’ of 16 John Street (later Great Portland Street) and 106½ Oxford Street.In 1858, George Needham Mansfield (b. 1828-d. 1895), the son of George Mansfield, a builder and decorator of Gray’s Inn Lane and Wigmore Street, joined the firm which then traded as Hanson, Wright and Mansfield until Hanson’s death in 1861. The tab of the key is broken but I have tied it to the remainder of the key.The drawer fronts have some damage to borders.Two legs have top beaded mouldings missing.The left hand brushing slide has some movement through joint that will require glueing up to make good, it has caused a slight crack on the edge of the slide,The right hand side brushing slide has a split across the slide and both sides will pull right out because the stop/peg is missing from each sideThe right hand slide has some damage to the end faciaThere is a shrinkage line on the surround of the top.Please see the extra images that should mirror the points raisedThe draw bottoms have some splits from shrinkage, the drawers are rather stiff and will need easing, the key that is present doesn't seem to throw the keeper of the lock.Please see the extra images.

The Motors Drum Set - a drum set played by and belonging to Ricky Slaughter of the British New Wave Band - The Motors. The set consisting of four drums, percussion temple blocks and eleven cymbals, The band formed in 1977 London by former Ducks Deluxe members Nick Garvey and Andy McMaster. They had success with songs including Dancing the Night Away, Be What You Gotta Be and most notably Airport. One of the drums has six lines of lyrics written in pen, possibly the first lines of a song: Rachel 'You must understand, Understand what? Understand This x2, I stare at the clock, Watch the minutes pass, I follow my hand'. The Avedis Zildjian & Co 1960's and early 70's cymbals include: a 15" cymbal, two 18" cymbals, three Medium Ride 20" (split and drilled); Paiste 2002 Crash cymbal nr 860942 16" (split), Paiste 2002 Crash cymbal nr 16" (significant split), AJAX 20" cymbal, Paiste 2002 14" Heavy Hi-Hat Top nr 804486 and a Paiste 14" Heavy Hi-Hat Top cymbal nr 804487 (good condition), the drums consist of Everyplay Extra 16", Remo Weatherking Emperor Batter 14", Remo Hayman Drum Head 20", Remo Weatherking Bass Drum 22" together with a travel drum case and travel cymbal case labelled for the band. His creations are characterised by a visually impactful style, featuring a highly distinctive creative imagination. He played a key role in fostering initiatives like the embryonic magazine "Algol" in 1946. Ponç was also one of the founders, alongside Brossa and Tàpies, among others, of the Dau al Set group, which grew up around a magazine of the same name of which he was the director. He was on friendly terms with Dalí and Miró.After his first solo exhibition at the Arte de Bilbao Hall in 1946, he showcased his work in numerous European galleries. Signed.On the back some patches can be seen which are the result of some minor restoration.77,5 x 55,5 cm.Carlos Vázquez Úbeda was a prominent Spanish painter, illustrator, and poster artist, renowned for his creations in the genres of costumbrismo (depicting local customs) and landscape.This "Hijo predilecto" (Favorite Son) of Ciudad Real was a disciple of the landscape artist Carlos Haes, whom he met at the National School of San Fernando in Madrid, and the portrait painter Léon Bonnat, following the classes he received in Paris, where he resided between 1889 and 1898.As reported by the Prado Museum, he "regularly sent his works to national and foreign competitions," winning numerous awards and decorations. Highlights of these are the first place medal he received at the Exhibition of Fine Arts and Artistic Industries of Barcelona in 1898, the first place medal in 1910 from the National School of Fine Arts in Madrid for "El torero herido" (The Wounded Bullfighter), one of his most well-known paintings, currently kept in the Prado (inv. P006803). He also received the prestigious gold medal in 1913 at the Salon de Paris for "Luna de miel en Anso" (Honeymoon in Anso), now housed in The Hispanic Museum (inv. A307).Another painting to highlight is "Recolección de higos chumbos en Granada" (Harvesting Prickly Pears in Granada) (c. 1901, inv. Like this one, it is also signed in the plate: "ROEDEL" and printed by Chaix.The poster we have here retains the unprinted part reserved for the specific announcement of events and their dates.Auguste Roedel was a French poster artist, designer, illustrator, and caricaturist who, at the age of just 20, began frequenting bars and cabarets and designing posters. In 1885, he was the first to represent the famous cancan dancer La Goulue. He worked as a caricaturist for newspapers such as "Le Courrier français" or "L'Estampe moderne," and four of his creations were reproduced in "Les Maîtres de l'affiche," a monthly publication which was in existence between 1895 and 1900 and which aimed to showcase the most beautiful posters by leading French and foreign artists of the time. The magazine was created by the poster master Jules Chéret, with whom Roedel had worked since 1890, and who was the artistic director of the press that printed this poster: Imprimerie Chaix. Starting in 1895, he also became the official poster artist for the Moulin Rouge.He was the director of the magazine "La Vache enragée," launched by his friend and collaborator Adolphe Léon Willette. He died suddenly in 1900 due to absinthe abuse.
