X 1ft. 9in. 1.12m. X 0.54m. Fading and slight moth damage. Leaf and medallion design on a dark blue field. The second a small rug by the Ersari Turkmen of Beshir, Turkmenistan, early 20th century, 3ft. 3in. X 2ft. 9in. 0.99m. X 0.84m. Slight losses to lower end. Colourful triangle medallion design to the field; conjoined medallion main border. An intriguing hand written note attached to this piece reads: 'In my mind I reserved this piece for Mr. J H & one day he will love it!' As this rug remained in the present owner's collection, one assumes either Mr. J. H. saw it and didn't love it, or perhaps he never got to see it in the first place! (2)

The whole of the left side main border and inner guard has been cut and rejoined; although as far as we can ascertain only a tiny width is missing as can be seen from the linking branches between the first and second kelle motifs in the lower elem. Splits and repaired crease mark to right side.
