Fred Yates, British 1922-2008, oil on board of a viaduct bridge, thick impasto oil, signed lower right. Consigned from local house clearance deceased estate, with two accompanying postcards from Fred Yates to painting's Bournemouth owner, from Eastbourne dated 1960.He spent much of the 1950s and 1960s as a schoolteacher, first in Bournemouth, and Brighton, where he lived for 12 years. It is during this time that the artist struck up a friendship with the paintings owner living in Bournemouth. Painting 11.5 " x 47" Minor paint flaking, will need a clean.

The locks on the first and second drawers are both missing.
