She was first discovered as a teenager and later signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. She became the first female artist to occupy the top two positions on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously with Foolish and What's Luv? at numbers one and two, respectively. Actor, Colin Farrell signed 10x8 colour photograph. Farrell (born 31 May 1976) is an Irish actor. He first appeared in the BBC drama series Ballykissangel (1998), then made his film debut in the drama film The War Zone (1999), and was discovered by Hollywood upon taking the lead role in the war drama film Tigerland (2000). He then portrayed the outlaw Jesse James in the Western film American Outlaws (2001) before starring in the thriller films Phone Booth (2002), S.W.A.T. (2003), and The Recruit (2003), establishing his international box office appeal. Juan Patricio Morlete (Guanajuato, Mexico, 1713 - Mexico City, 1772) "La Madre Santíssima del Lume" (Our Lady of Light) Oil on canvas. Signed. With a carved and gilded period frame. 83 x 66,5 cm. As Rebeca Carretero Calvo notes in "La Madre Santísima de la Luz en Aragón, simbolismo de una iconografía jesuítica prohibida" (Our Lady of Light in Aragon, symbolism of unauthorised Jesuit iconography): "Worship of Our Lady of Light began in Sicily in the first years of the 18th century, under the protection of the Society of Jesus through the supposed revelations of Mary to one of the islanders, as José de Tobar narrates in the invocation to Our Lady with the title Madre Santissima de la Luz (Holy Mother of Light), published in Madrid in 1751. The incident was spread by Italian Jesuits in the 1730’s, arriving to Spain during the reign of Ferdinand VI (1746-1759). In 1756 the Society declared her protector of Missions, and from then onwards she occupied an altar in the Church at the Colegio Imperial in Madrid. Worship of Our Lady of light spread like wildfire and began to circulate through a typified iconography. The images performed countless miracles, which caused their inevitable quick expansion throughout the world via the Society of Jesus.” Similar examples of Our Lady of Light made by Miguel Cabrera exist, such as the one kept in the Museo Nacional del Virreinato in Mexico or the one in the Andrés Blaisten collection in Mexico City. Colonial School. Possibly Mexico. 18th century. "Venerable Lady Mary Jesus of Ágreda evangelising American Indians" Oil on canvas. Signed and dated "Jossè .. .Icarus? I fect.t ann. D. 1776. 54.5 x 35cm. With handwritten motto, in the lower margin: "divinitus translata ad Indosamericanos corun complures ad Catholicam religionem adctursifse perhibetus In Summario Processus Apostolici num XIV. S. IX. This painting is based on Pietro Leone Bombelli's engraving of Missionary Sister Mary, made in Rome in 1761, at the initiative of the postulant of the Cause of Saints, from a drawing by Mariano Salvador Maella. A copy of said engraving is in the National Library of Madrid. This painting is especially important, because apart from the engravings, there are very few pictorial examples on canvas and only some sculptures of the Venerable Mary Jesus, in which she is usually portrayed in her role as a writer. Even so, they are scarce, and most of them are devotional. Legend has it that Sor Mary Jesus of Ágreda taught the Faith to the Indians of Southern Mexico through bilocation, since she never left Spain. Sister María Jesús de Ágreda (1602-1665) was just one of the many cloistered nuns who were said to be able to unfold and visit distant places to evangelise. As Andrés González indicates: “Throughout her life we can highlight three aspects: her strong spirituality, marked by moments of ecstasy and penitential acts; the phenomenon of bilocation, by which she participates in the evangelization of the California area; and her facet as a writer, both of books and epistles. In the first years of her cloistered life, we find one of the most interesting aspects of the venerable Lady, her bilocating capacity, for which, without leaving the convent of Ágreda, she appeared in America catechizing the Indians. Circa 1620, in the northern part of South America, the Indians went to the Franciscans voluntarily asking to be baptized, surprising the missionaries because they had not come to them to instruct them. The Indians reported having received a visit from the "Blue Lady of the Plains," a beautiful woman dressed in blue, who had instructed them to go and be baptized. Workshop of Francesco Solimena (Canale di Serino, 1657 - Barra, Naples, 1747) "The Descent of Christ" Oil on canvas. 128 x 75 cm. Prince Eugene of Savoy commissioned various paintings by Solimena for his Schloss Hof, among others the "Descent of Christ" painted in 1729, and which is currently kept in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Another second and smaller-sized version appeared on the art market in the Otto Naumann Gallery in New York. This painting was produced by Francesco Solimena’s workshop. It is important to remember that artists of the calibre of Francesco de Mura spent time working in Solimena’s workshop. As the Museo del Prado’s biographical note states with regard to the years of the later Solimena stage, when the clear and luminous style derived from Luca Giordano was still evident, the colouring darkened: "In the later years, the colouring darkened; the artist was attracted by the Neapolitan tenebrists, giving his painting greater emotional density and dramatism. In the first decades of the 18th century, he was the undisputed master in Naples, with a workshop which trained artists of considerable importance, such as Pietro del Pò, Giaquinto and Giuseppe Bonito. Solimena painted for the most important Neapolitan churches, such as San Paolo Maggiore, San Domenico Maggiore, San Filippo Neri ai Gerolamini and the Gesù Nuovo.
