Sci-fi - Film and Television Interest - after Tim Hobbis (polycarver/sculptor, model maker and set builder for TV and film), a large fibreglass model, Cyberdragon MK2, painted by the vendor John Williams, previously exhibited at the National Space Centre, 188cm high, 83cm wide, 144cm deepA note from the artist and vendor: Sixty base moulds were designed and made of the dragon by Tim Hobbis, set designer and model builder in the TV and film industry, for the Wild In Art public art trail around the city of Newport, South Wales in 2012. These were then decorated by local artists and placed around the city in prominent locations, as a tourist attraction and a fun trail for families to hunt down using a map creating especially for the event. I was selected to paint one of the dragons, and chose to give it a sci-fi "Cyber" theme. After the trail ended in October 2012, the dragons were all put up for charity auction. As a result of the event, I got to know Tim quite well, and commissioned him to make me one more before the mould degraded, so that I could decorate it fully without the short time constraints I worked under for the first dragon. I spent the next 5 years enhancing and painting the "Cyberdragon MK2".

A 1953 Austin A40 Somerset 1,622 cc. petrol-engined, four-speed manual gearbox, four-door saloon motor car finished in black with beige upholstery. Registration No. NLU 367. First registered on the 26th January 1953. Engine No. 16AMW-L-H 345762. Currently showing 36,719 miles, (Not warranted Correct). She was acquired by the current owner in 1979 and she has been used on a regular basis since that time. In 1982, a 1,622 cc. A60 engine was installed (Swansea Notified) and in 1984 an A60 rear braking system was fitted replacing the original system. In 1993 the chassis was extensively repaired utilising 2 mm. thick stainless steel and all necessary repairs were attended to including new brake pipes, brake cylinders, brake shoes and new Phosphor Bronze rear leaf-spring hanger bushes. The indicators replacing trafficators were installed by a previous owner. A new wiring harness was fitted about 10 years ago. As will be noted, the engine is fitted with an S.U. carburettor. A new battery with a two year guarantee is fitted. The car starts immediately and the engine is running well, however the clutch would appear to require adjustment, as gear selection is currently rather difficult. Attention will be required to the foot-brakes, possibly the master cylinder, and a master cylinder is to be found with the car. This classic Austin of cute cloud-form, has very easy access via the large doors and a level floor without the normal obstacle of a raised sill. The car is M.O.T. and Road Tax exempt and the larger engine endows her with good power and torque. She is sure to provide great enjoyment to her new owner. ***As with all motor vehicles sold through our auctions, this vehicle is sold in its current condition and all vehicles should be inspected in person prior to bidding. N.B. BUYERS PREMIUM ON THIS LOT 10% + V.A.T. (Total premium 12% plus any specific on-line bidding fees).
A 1957 Austin A50 Cambridge 1,500 cc. petrol-engined, four-speed manual gearbox four-door saloon car finished in black with red upholstery. Registration No. 93 CPF, apparently first registered on the 28th February 1957. Engine No. 15WC-U-L17632. Currently showing 40,446 miles (Not Warranted Correct). We are selling this vehicle for the second owner, who acquired her in 1980 and has used her over the intervening years on a regular basis. Most A50s were produced running on 15" diameter wheels, however this car was factory-fitted with 13" diameter wheels as a test prior to the 1958 A55 series cars being produced with that new wheel diameter. A new wiring loom was fitted about 10 years ago and the reconditioned engine was fitted in January 2024. As will be noted, the engine in this car is fitted with an S.U. carburettor. A new battery with a two-year guarantee is fitted. The owner drove her over 20 miles to the sale-rooms and she behaved impeccably during our local run for the filming of the on-line video and we can confirm that the heater worked rather well during the recent cold spell. An opportunity to acquire a well-presented, true classic, motor car which is M.O.T. and road tax exempt and sure to create great interest when attending the coming season's vintage shows or road-runs, or indeed when used as a daily driver. ***As with all motor vehicles sold through our auctions, this vehicle is sold in its current condition and all vehicles should be inspected in person prior to bidding.
