The typed documents include the State of California incorporation certificate for the company, dated 30th November 1944, the By-Laws of Field Photo Homes, various Minutes of Meetings of the Directors, including the first meeting held on 20th December 1944 at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, some accounts and expense figures etc.. Each of the documents are signed by one or more individuals associated with the corporation including John Ford (1894-1973) Irish-American Film Director, Academy Award winner (10 signatures), John Wayne (1907-1979) American Actor, Academy Award winner (1 signature), Merian C. Cooper (1893-1973) American Aviator & Film Director of King Kong, 1933 (7 signatures), Frank Wead (1895-1947) American Naval Aviator and Screenwriter, Schneider Trophy winner, 1923 (5 signatures), James McGuinness (1893-1950) American Screenwriter & Film Producer (6 signatures), Guy Thayer (Film Editor; 3 signatures), Fred Totman (Ford's business manager; 21 signatures) and C. E. Wingate Smith (4 signatures). There are also two pages of signatures by various members of Field Photo Homes Inc. who were present at a General Meeting on 18th March 1952, including Harry Carey Jr and Leif Erickson. The first and concluding pages of the volume show signs of age wear and damp staining, however the majority of inside pages are clean. Some further age wear and faults to the covers, FR to generally G John Ford had established and led The Naval Field Photographic Reserve Unit during World War II. In February 1945 he took a leave of absence from the Navy to film They Were Expendable. Ford used his salary from that picture to create the Field Photo Home, a club for the veterans of the Field Photographic Unit, based at his Farm in the San Fernando Valley, California.

Signed by Allen in fountain pen ink to a light area at the centre of the image. ADDINSELL RICHARD: (1904-1977) British Composer of Film Scores. A.L.S., Dick Addinsell, one page, 4to, Launceston Place, Kensington, 21st November 1951, to Arnold. Addinsell thanks his correspondent for their letter and confirms that he will be coming to New York in December for the rehearsals of Come of Age, continuing 'Alas, Miss Dane is busy finishing her novel and will be unable to come to New York with me.' A few small pinholes to the upper left corner, otherwise VG Addinsell had written his first theatre score for Clemence Dane's Come of Age in 1928 and he continued to collaborate with Dane until her death in 1965.

A good vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph of Howard seated in a three quarter length pose in character costume in a scene from The Scarlet Pimpernel (1934). Signed by Howard in black fountain pen ink with his name alone to a lighter area of the image. His first name is a little light in places, but perfectly legible. His first match was for ‘22 of Philadelphia’ v Graces team 1872 and his first match played at Lord’s was for Gentlemen of Philadelphia v M.C.C. in 1884. George Gordon, 9th Marquis of Huntly & Earl of Aboyne. Original signed free-front envelope to an address in Dorking, Surrey, dated and sent from ‘London May five 1823 ‘. Signed ‘Aboyne’ in black ink. An early signature of Aboyne, styled Lord Strathavon until 1795 and known as The Earl of Aboyne from 1795-1836, was a Scottish peer. G Gordon was born in 1761 and was a keen cricketer who made four known first class appearances from 1785-1792. He was a member of the White Conduit Club and an early member of M.C.C. but was mainly associated with Surrey. He died in 1853

This is still the record opening stand for Yorkshire and is second in the overall record for the first wicket. Signed in ink by both players. ‘Between Wickets’. Ray Robinson. London 1948. d/w/(poor). Signed to front end page ‘Best of Luck, Len Ray Robinson, 1948’. The book has a letter, dated 10th July, with good cricket content, tipped into the front end paper from Robinson to Hutton and referring to Hutton being dropped for the 3rd Test, the first time he had been omitted since he made his debut in 1937. ‘We feel sure we’’ll see you in action again for England at Leeds and The Oval and I`m looking forward to a quiet talk some time. I was with a party of Australian players at golf in Gloucestershire when England’s side for the 3rd Test came through. We were all absolutely staggered. Next day, before a room full of people at lunch at the Bristol Ground, Sid Barnes called across to us ‘They’ve left out the bast bat in England. Best wishes Len, until next meeting’.
