Inkograph Stylographic Pen c1925 Stylographic Pens, often reffered to as `Stylos` have a writing tip consisting of a metal tube with a fine wire inside to regulate ink flow. They were the first mass-produced fountain pens to achieve broad market success. Black celluloid barrel, which carries clear inscription `Inkograph Trade Mark Reg. Made in U.S.A., patents 1524068/1907686/1943048`. Chrome trim lever filler - lever had round end and carries the inscription `Made in U.S.A.`. Clip carries `Inkograph` inscription. Excellent condition.

Mentmore `Diploma` c1950 The Diploma Model was first produced by Mentimore befroe World War II and production carried on after the war. Royal Blue with rolled Gold trim - cap had wide Gold band. Clear barrel imprint unusual in that it is a lever filler, and had a semi-hooded 14ct Gold nib. This pen is in immaculate restored condition with a new bladder.

Raphael, Henry Nathael and Lt John Edward Raphael. Raphael Bank History notes Raphael`s Bank, ""one of the oldest independent houses in the country, was founded by Raphael .Raphael, a Dutch merchant who, as a young man, left Amsterdam and came to London in 1787. He made a considerable fortune during the Napoleonic Wars and successive generations of the Raphael family moved into public share issues, raising loans for European Governments and large transactions in American Railway Stocks. The family sold the Bank in 1983 and it is now owned by Lenlyn Holdings, a world leader in retail foreign exchange. Raphael, John Edward played rugby for England & Great Britain, Internationals 9 - 1902 W-I+S+; 1905 W S-NZ; 1906 W-S+ (11) F+; Profession: Barrister - called to the bar Lincoln`s Inn 1908. Jack Raphael was a brilliant all-round sportsman who played first-class cricket to a high level and represented England nine times as a three-quarter. Served from August 1914 with the Duke of Wellington`s (West Riding) Regiment. Lieutenant attached to the 18th Battalion, King`s Royal Rifle Corps, 122nd Brigade, 41st Division. Appointed to the General Staff as Aide de camp to General Officer Commanding 41st Division. He died at Remy on 11 June 1917 of wounds received at Messines Ridge on 7 June, and is buried in Lijessenthoek Military Cemetery, Popernighe, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium [Grave XII A 30]. L.E. R.A.
