Set of two pencil drawings on paper made in a Surrealist style reminiscent of the book covers by Sci-Fi illustrator Jan Esteves. They depict a woman and a man set in fantastical settings ranging from a barren landscape with mountains to close-ups with the lovers faces entwined in wings, vines and grapes, a hand of bananas, doves, luscious fruits, a cat, and smiling orbs. Written in pencil: Therese w/ all my love. Pencil signatures and date on lower left: J ? Esteves, 2, 1997 and 1998. Framed in brushed gild frames with white mats. An antique lectern with a miniature diorama of a school, Probably from Germany, in the First half of the 20th C.8 small dolls of children sitting on 4 school benches, 1 teacher. All heads are made of porcelain and numbered on the reverse. The teacher's head is numbered on the reverse: Made in Germany 201 20/0 DEP. Probably made by 'Gebruder Knoch', Germany. A couple of very short thin firing cracks to edge of foot.Larger blue and white bowl: fritting and chipping to rim and approx. 65mm long rim hairline with associated chip, and further finer, shorter hairline.Last bowl: fritting and nibbling to mouth and foot rims.

It was the first Chinese newspaper in the modern history of China which targeted Chinese people as their desired audience. Its main focus was on religion, with supplementary sections featuring news and advanced knowledge at the time.Condition Report: Magazine woodblock: nibbling to edges and broken off and restuck horizontally through the middle.The stamps also with nibbling to edges, several with expected age cracks, and all with residue of red paste to the carved face.

To Be Sold With No Reserve A copper lota and copper libation spoon argha patra, Rajasthan, India, 19th century, the first on short flaring foot, with wide body and narrow neck rising to a flared mouth, devanagari inscription to the base; the second of typical form, 10.5 cm. high and 25.6cm. long (2).Provenance: Private UK Collection Footnotes: The argha patra is widely used in India and is intended for ritual purpose. The form evolves from traditional representations of the yoni, a cosmic symbol representing the female. The vessel is filled with water and held in the hand during puja, the indent in the base used to place a finger for balance. The water is then poured onto the sculpture of a deity to bathe the god or goddess as an act of worship.

Three Chinese famille rose export 'rooster' teapots and coversQing dynasty, Yongzheng-Qianlong periodComprising one teapot with cockerels amongst peonies and applied leafy buds to the foot, with foliated cover, 16.2cm long; a moulded teapot with cockerels amongst flowers to the upper portion, and landscape scenes to the lower portion, with associated cover with scrolling lotus, 15cm long; and a further teapot with cockerels amongst flowering peonies and chrysanthemums, and foliated cover, 15cm long (3).清雍正 粉彩繪錦雞花卉圖紋茶蓋壺三件Condition Report: The first with restoration to applied designs and associated surface residue. The cover with chip to internal rim and to the underside of the external rim.The one with associated cover with a couple of frits and nibbles to rims of cover and teapot and to foot. The third teapot with nibbling to edge of cover and areas of ingrained dirt to the shoulder which highlight under UV but do not appear to correspond to restoration. Some firing glaze lines to the underside of the handle.All with expected surface wear and firing imperfections consistent with type.

Six calligraphic album pages in fine nasta'liq script,Persia, or perhaps Deccan, late 16th-17th century,comprising exercises in various letters and the methods of joining them to other letters, Arabic manuscript on gold-sprinkled paper, each page consisting of two lines of text written in fine, large nasta'liq script in black ink, inner margins ruled in gold, blue and red, laid down on marbled borders, the six mounted, framed and glazed together, album pages 10 x 17.5cm.; frame 99 x 35.5 cm. Footnotes: The calligraphic pages are exercises on writing the letters ba, 'ayn, ta, ha, fa and mim, and the various shapes they can take when joined with other letters. At least five letters (jim, sin, sad, kaf, lam) are missing from this demonstration of letters, bearing in mind that many letters have the same shape (such as ba, ta, tha, pe, jim, che, ha, kha) and are only distinguishable by the number of dots placed above or below them, and that there are also a few that cannot be joined up with the letters following them (such as dal, ra, waw).Condition Report: All the panels are stained and pitted especially the second. third and fourth. A crease affects the first line of the fourth. The fifth shows darker stains and a light crease above both lines, especially the first. A defect in the paper affects both lines. The sixth shows more noticeable brushstroke like staining to the upper left corner.
