1935 Triumph 2/1 250ccReg. no. AYY 241Frame no. 5L557Engine no. 1-R4/369The Triumph 2/1 twin port was one of the first models Val Page designed on joining Triumph and the reliable and powerful engine was one of the best 250s at the time.  It had a 3-speed gearbox that could be upgraded to a 4-speed box for an extra 30 shillings and the frame and tin ware was mostly the same as the 350 model. These features combined with a 6-volt electrical system, mag/dyno lighting and an electric horn meant the only downside for Triumph was that with all its refinements and engine specifications it was very expensive to produce. So unfortunately, in 1936 it fell victim to the sweeping cuts across the company.This bike was fully restored several years ago and is now showing some minor areas of cosmetic wear associated with having been used. We have seen this bike started from cold where it fired up easily on the second kick and quickly settled into a nice tick over and the bark from the silencer sounded superb. It was then ridden around the site and the 3-speed gearbox appeared to be very smooth in operation and the engine pulled really well under acceleration.Comes with – a current V5CEstimate: £5,000 – 6,000

G5 E 078173The G-5 was described as having a quiet, smooth and much improved 99cc rotary valve engine that is as comfortable on the street as it is capable on the dirt. Its rugged 5-speed gearbox allows you to take those steep off-road trails in your stride and the plastic fenders are flexible enough to allow for those off-road mishaps without the need to keep replacing them. The G-5C was the last G-5 before the model changed to the KE100 in 1976. This Kawasaki GC5 was first registered in New Mexico by a Mr Gilbert Martinez. Its country of first registration may account for the extremely faded paintwork particularly on one side of the bike and the top of the seat cover, obviously caused by the sun and extreme temperatures. The present owner purchased the bike a long time ago to fill a gap in his extensive collection of off-road motorcycles which is now being reduced. He has never started or run the bike. Comes with - importation document and an original Kawasaki Service Card.

In 2009 the bike was completely upgraded. The engine was now a unit construction engine (UCE) and the chassis was lightened, to improve performance and handling, which along with other engineering improvements, meant the bike was evolving into the comfortable classic cruiser for those long journeys for which it was originally designed.This example has been with the present owner since 2016 and appears to be in very nice condition. It comes with an MOT that shows its mileage history as 2,878 and in the last three years has done less than 100 miles per year. We have not heard the bike running as the battery is flat and may require replacement.Comes with – a current V5C and an MOT (expires 19/8/2022).

The 176 TC4 was one of their more popular bikes and certainly the military liked them for their reliability and ruggedness.This very nice Peugeot twin port was part of a consignment of bikes that were destined for the French Army and it was first registered in the UK in 2003. Judging by its condition and odometer reading 2083, (not guaranteed), it has had little military use. The owner describes the bike as in generally very good order having undergone some sympathetic minor restoration including a brake and engine service. It has 12volt electrics powered by the magneto and runs well on a 15/1 two stroke mix. The original French army designation plate is under the UK number plate held on by wing nuts for easy removal when being displayed at shows. On collection the bike started easily and ran well.Comes with – a current V5C and a photocopy of its workshop manual.

Reg. no. 262 SPBFrame no. 621407Engine no. 621407Manufactured from 1956 to 1969, the R60 had the Earles-type front forks loved by the sidecar fraternity, because the trail could be altered for sidecar work using points on the bottom link. The R60 engine was a low compression version of the R69 engine and this stayed the same until 1960 when the R60/2 was introduced with its redesigned engine internal components.This very original, matching numbers BMW R60 was first dispatched to Comerfords Ltd, Thames Ditton on the 5th Oct 1960. When purchased, the bike was in good but unrestored condition, so the present owner was carrying out a running restoration to enhance it cosmetically and mechanically. He has recently replaced the exhaust downpipes, carburettor floats and battery. The bike comes with some interesting features such as the spotlights with mirrors on the back of them.  Unfortunately due to illness, the owner is unable to ride the bike again so has reluctantly decided to sell it.Comes with – a current V5C, an original buff logbook and some receipts for parts.

LM 759Adolphe Clement moved to Paris in 1880 where he started a very successful bicycle firm and in 1889, after seeing the New Dunlop pneumatic tyre demonstrated in London, he acquired the manufacturing rights in France and soon made his fortune. Using this money, he expanded his factory and in 1895 began manufacturing motorised Tricycles and a Quadricycle using De Dion engines and soon after began producing cars. In 1902 Clement motorcycle engines were also supplied to Charles Garrard in the UK, who initially used frames supplied by James Lansdowne Norton, to produce the Clement - Garrard Autocycle. Norton was so impressed by the quality and performance of Clement engines that he used them in his first ‘Energette’ motorcycle.Bikes of this age rarely come to the market and this lovely very rare 1902 Clement Auto-cycle has the early 143cc type B, LM, four stroke engine. It was fully restored several years ago but has not been run for some time so will require some recommissioning prior to use.Comes with - a current V5C, a pioneer certificate, and a large information folder collated during the restoration and registration of this machine.

Reg. no. BS 9985Frame no. 2030Engine no. 2030Cousins Ailwyn and Frank Smith founded the Clyno Engineering Co. in 1909 making adjustable belt pulleys for motorcycle transmissions. It was not long before they turned their attention to making complete motorcycles using the best propriety parts available at the time. Using Chater Lea frame fittings and engines from the A J Stevens Motor Manufacturing Company (before they became AJS), Clyno exhibited their first two bikes at the 1909 Stanley show. By 1911 they had realised the limitations that belt driven, single fixed gear motorcycles were under so a two speed, foot-operated chain-driven transmission was developed and enclosed in what is believed to be the first pressed aluminium casings. After already achieving many successes in the infamous ACU continuous trials of the day such as the London to Edinburgh and Exeter Trials, Frank Smith wanted to prove his combinations were the best, strongest and most powerful bikes on the market, so in the winter of 1911 he set out on his 646cc combination. The aim was to climb all the so called ‘unclimbable hills’ in the UK that no combination had ever managed before, including Porlock and Lynton Hill in Devon and the Honister Pass in the Lake District.     The result of this successful achievement was a full order book and during WW1 they also teamed up with Vickers to carry one of their machine guns in the sidecar, a role that was so successful it was also sold to the Russian Army in vast numbers.This combination was restored to a very high standard many years ago with its Clyno no. 6 original pattern sidecar. Original features such as the Clyno patented rear stands, acetylene lighting, Jones speedometer, etc. are still present. It has successfully been on many pioneer runs, had a highly commended at the famous 2019 Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show and is still a real head turner. This combination has not been used for a while so may require some recommissioning prior to use.Comes with – a current V5C, a pioneer certificate, a very large file of photocopied magazine articles and Clyno brochures plus other documents relating to the combination.

MG-551-S17Engine no. 10835 (See note below)Monet Goyon was initially a company formed by Joseph Monet and Adrien Goyon to make invalid carriages for veterans of the first world war and then in 1919 manufactured the Auto Wheel under licence, also made by BSA. It wasn’t until the 1920s that they became famous for good quality, fast road-going motorcycles and their racing bikes that were so successful for many years.This bike was initially a 1936 175cc S17 twin port with a 3-speed gearbox, since when the engine and gearbox have been changed for a 250cc twin port motor and a 2-speed box, presumably when a previous owner had used it for some form of racing, possibly sprint or hill climbing. The present owner is unsure of the engine’s manufacturer and has been told by several people that it could be anything from a Favour twin port racing engine to a R250 Villiers motor. The bike was running but has not been used for some time and will make someone an interesting project.Comes with – a current V5C, its original mudguards, silencers, headlight and a spare carburettor. Also, some old photocopied photographs and a description of what the present owner has done with the bike since ownership.Note: The current V5C has the correct engine number but they did not alter the capacity and it still states 175cc and not 250cc.

KEE3BBBSB47CO20811Hundreds of modifications were made to the Bullet over the years, but the Royal Enfield Classic (1998 to 2008) looked more or less the same as when the Bullet was first introduced. The 500cc model has a lot more torque than the 350 and with higher gearing it cruises more comfortably at higher speeds.This bike appears to be in very good overall condition and only has 178km on the odometer (not guaranteed). Apart from when first purchased, the owner has not ridden this bike as it was too heavy for him, but he has kept the engine regularly turned over. It has not been started for some time and the battery is flat and may require replacement.The motorcycle is registered with the DVLA, unfortunately the owner has been unable to find the V5C so the new owner will need to apply for a duplicate/new one from the DVLA. The owner has said he will help with this if needed.Comes with - no documentation.

Founded in 1903 by Reginald Maudslay with a capital of £3000 it wasn't until 1904 when the first car was sold. Originally sold with 2, 3 and 4 cylinder engines, a 6 cylinder 18/20 was introduced and was entered in the 1905 TT race coming in 11th out of 18 entries. Between 1906 and 1911 the entire output of the Coventry factory was taken by the dealership owned by Charles Friswell, Chairman of Standard until 1911. It was he who arranged for Standard to be the sole make represented at the Delhi Durbar held to celebrate the Coronation of King George V as Emperor of India; some achievement with over 70 vehicles there. After Friswell left the company the next important step was the introduction of the 9.5 hp Model S an example of which is on offer here. Powered by a monobloc engine of 1087 cc and ignition by Eisemann magneto, it was available with a couple of different styles of body with the survivors wearing the 2-seat open type. The price when the Model S was introduced in March 1913 was £185 but by the September this had risen to £195. Edwardian Standards rarely come to the market in this condition or with the history this one has.According to records BM 3128 was supplied new by Quenby Brothers Ltd, High Street, Baldock and registered on 16th March 1914 to Arthur Puddlephatt, 185 Castle Street, Luton. It was then transferred to a Mary Isobel Bishell, South Lodge, Baldock on 16th October 1916. Some time in the early 1920s the car was repurchased by Quenby, there is a buff log book in the file with a stamp against their name dated 1925. Quenby kept the car for promotional purposes and attended many shows and events local to them before it was sold to a Mr Anthony Rogers in 1974. His name is also in the buff log book. The next owners who kept the car for, we believe, approximately 40 years was a Mr Geoffrey Downing who enjoyed many miles of trouble free motoring on VCC events and the car was sold in 2019 on his death; it is now offered from the estate of the current owner.The car is offered in good condition and is ready for the forthcoming rally season. Works known to have been carried out in the last couple of years include the rebuilding of the magneto, a radiator overhaul, the fitting of new valves and guides, and a partial re-trim of the interior. There are many invoices for this work on file. The original monobloc engine is fitted and rated at 9.5 hp (1087cc). When inspected the car had not been started for a few months but after priming the oil pump, flooding the carburettor and setting the controls the engine started easily and settled down to an even tickover. The car was then driven for a short distance and everything worked as it should. Wearing its original 2 seat bodywork painted in green, the car is also fitted with a factory extra of a dickey seat which cost £3 fitted at the time. It also has the added advantage of a discreet starter motor having been fitted. The Standard also comes with a full complement of brass lights and a period speedometer has been fitted.The V5C is present as well as an extensive history file that includes the aforementioned buff log book, an original Standard Light Car instruction and maintenance book, a reproduction 1913 Sales Catalogue, a raft of old MOT documents and most unusually a 1956 tax disc and then a run of tax discs from September 1974 to April 2014 and an early VCC dating Certificate. The car would of course be welcome at VCC Events as well as Standard Register Events.

TS 1081FRBy 1952, the Triumph Roadster was starting to look and feel somewhat outdated, with its distinctly pre-war styling, and it was never a particularly rapid car in the first place. Fearing being left behind in the sports car market, Triumph’s owners Standard tried to purchase the Morgan company. When this fell through, they instead embarked on the development process of an up-to-date sports car. The result of this, the experimental 20TS, was displayed in October 1952 at the London Motor Show. Standard then employed BRM engineer and test-driver Ken Richardson to test-drive the car, and his feedback led to changes to tame the prototype’s wayward handling. While the prototype was built on a Standard 8 chassis with Mayflower suspension and an engine lifted straight from the Vanguard, the production version, launched a year later, had a strengthened chassis with excellent rigidity, much-improved suspension, larger brakes and a tuned engine. The car was also widened and lengthened, increasing both passenger and luggage space. The resulting TR2 had a top speed of over 100mph, a huge increase over the 80mph of the prototype. The 90bhp 2-litre engine could also propel the car to 60 in 12 seconds – excellent performance for the time. Indeed, a standard TR2 fitted with optional streamlining devices reached just over 124mph on the Jabbeke motorway in Belgium in May 1953, making it one of the fastest British cars of the time. 1954 saw a 1-2 finish in the RAC rally, as the car proved an excellent motorsport competitor. This being the ‘export or die’ era for British manufacturers, the majority of the 8638 TR2s made to 1955 went to the United States in left-hand-drive form.This TR2 was first registered with the DVLA in January 1957 – this being over a year since the end of production. Going by the chassis number and the Vintage Triumph Register’s list of surviving TR2s, it is actually a 1954 car. Restored at some point in the past, it remains in solid condition, with a very good interior, hood and sidescreens. A tonneau cover is also present. The bodywork is solid, although there is some micro-blistering and spidering to most areas of the paintwork. The chassis and underbody are good and appear to have been painted when the car was restored. The car has been stored for a while but has been started by the vendor with fresh petrol in the carburettors, and is said to sound good, with no evidence of oil leaks. Mindful of the potential effects of modern fuel, the tank has been drained and cleaned. The wiring is said to look good, while the tyres are also good, with the spare still present in its correct location. Following recommissioning, this TR2 would be a lovely car in which to enjoy the rest of the summer, and is also eligible for various historic motorsport events, including now VSCC hillclimbs. It comes with a current V5C.

JT1LBMA6100132444Engine no. 5M3564921Mileage: 149,894 milesIn 1982 Toyota released its second-generation Celica moving from an inline four to a 2.8 straight six engine and added those iconic 1980s pop-up headlights. The 1984 models, like this one, had a number of improvements such as a change of final drive for automatic cars. Incidentally the Celica was also the first car to have an electronically controlled transmission allowing the driver to choose between power and economy gear changes. 1984 also saw a number of interior and exterior re-designs to bring the model more up to date, a digital dash also add to that 80’s feel. P type (performance type) cars like this one also included fibreglass fender flares and, on the inside, eight-way adjustable sports seats.This particular original example was used by its current owner up until the end of 2020 at which point it was dry stored. Prior to purchase in 2018, the owner previous had started a restoration on the car which was continued by its current owners who purchased parts to complete the car. It currently starts and runs smoothly and has a very clean interior, but does require some bodywork attention before it sees the road again. As a result, it is not currently MOT’d or taxed. The V5 registration document is present and the sale includes paperwork such as previous MOT’s, V5 documents and receipts for various work.
