SPEEDWAY Collection of rare autographs on pages from scrapbook. Comprises Johnnie Hoskins (promoter who was instrumental in establishing Speedway in the UK in 1928), Harry Lock who appeared in the first speedway meeting at King's Oak (Loughton) in 1928 and Bill Douglas who rode in the first Speedway meeting at High Beech and was a member of the Bristol based Douglas family (Douglas motor cycle company). 1971 FAIRS CUP FINAL Juventus v Leeds United (1st Leg Re-arranged) played 28 May 1971 at Stadio Comunale, Turin. Scarce ''Stadio'' 4-page newspaper issue dated 29 May 1971 Includes full team line-ups to the front cover with match reports and main headline ''JUVENTUS-LEEDS'' and further match reports inside. This game was re-played after the original first leg match was abandoned after 51 minutes on 26 May, 1971. The top right corner of the paper has been nibbled although this does not affect any text. Good

And includes 100 Sporting Years on the back page and shows the same Manchester United team group. Good
CHELSEA 1937 Tournoi L'Expostion (Paris) Semi Final FK Austria Wien v Chelsea played 3 June 1937 at Stade Colombes, Paris. Rare L'Auto issue dated 3 June 1937. This was a daily football newspaper issue published in Paris and previews the match with front cover headline ''16h 30 a Colombes Austria-Chelsea Les Demi Finales du Tournoi de L'Exposition'' and includes full team line-ups inside set out in programme style football pitch diagram format. Also includes Chelsea team photo taken before the first round match with Olympique Marseille with the players reading an issue of the L'Auto newspaper. Folded and small token removed from top corner of cover. Good
1950 FIFA WORLD CUP Brazil v Sweden. Scarce official programme for the Final round fixture played 9 July 1950 at the Stadium Municipal, Rio de Janeiro. This was the first of three fixture dates of the ''Final Round'' group consisting of Brazil, Spain, Sweden & Uruguay. Uruguay defeated Brazil in the Final match on 16 July. Good
EAST STIRLINGSHIRE / E.S.CLYDEBANK Two programmes, E.S.Clydebank v Stranraer, 26/8/64 at Kilbowie and first and only season programme for the newly formed team as a Scottish League Club although this game was in the League Cup. Programme is in good condition. The other programme is East Stirlingshire v Queen's Park, 10/8/63 at Firs Park, League Cup tie. Only season in the top division being relegated at the end of the season and merging to become E.S.Clydebank. Programme has some creasing but no writing. Fair-good

1925 ENGLAND Australia v England (English FA X1) played 27 June 1925 at The Exhibition Ground, Brisbane. Rare 36-page programme ''English Souvenir Number'' of the Soccer Record, Brisbane. This was the first test match for the English FA X1 vs Australia. England won 5-1. Includes central page full team line-ups and was the only authorised programme produced. Good
MAN UTD - SHEF WED 58 CUP United home programme for the first match played after the Munich Air Tragedy, v Sheffield Wednesday, 19/2/58, FA Cup, the start of the re-birth of United and an emotional Cup run to Wembley. Token included, no writing (United team blank) slight wear along fold, minor creasing. Generally good
1930 WORLD CUP Small but rather impressive booklet published for the 1930 World Cup held in Uruguay . The tournament was the First World Cup Tournament to be held. This fold out booklet has a fixture schedule for the games between July 13th and July 22nd with teams involved being Mexico, France, Belgium, United States, Peru, Rumania, Brazil, Yugoslavia, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Yugoslavia and Uruguay. The 12 page fold out pictures are of the 11 individual Uruguay players plus a team photograph. The front of the booklet is captioned "1er Campeonata Mundial de Football, 1930 Montevideo" with an advert beneath this. Each page measures approx 8cm x 5cm. Beige coloured and in good condition. Scarce item. Generally good

CARDIFF RUGBY LEAGUE 1951 Two quite scarce programmes for games including Cardiff Rugby League club as the RFL made another attempt to expand the game. Programmes are Wigan v Cardiff 29/8/51 ( first season for Cardiff, small paper loss to corner of back cover) and Workington Town v Cardiff 29/9/51, Cardiff had lost all 8 games prior to this having 344 points scored against them. Fair-generally good

Includes Manchester United (their first season as United and not Newton Heath), Aston Villa, West Brom, Sunderland, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton, Shef Utd, Southampton, Shef Wed, Middlesbrough, Notts County and Scotland, plus a few statistics etc. Generally good
1925 ENGLAND Perth Metropolitan X1 v England (English FA X1) played 7 May 1925 at Subico Oval, Perth. Rare 24-page official programme. This was the first of a 25 match Australian tour by the English FA on their first visit to Australia played from 7 May to 3 August 1925. England won the match 8-0 and went on to win all the other games on the tour. Good
FRANK R FOSTER- ASHES HERO Two postcard photographs of England and Warwickshire Cricketer Frank R Foster with notes in his hand on the reverse and signed by him in 1951. He was the forgotten hero who after a miraculous year in 1911 died bankrupt in a psychiatric hospital in 1958, alone and touched by madness. In 1911 he became Warwickshire Captain and led them to the Championship scoring 1614 runs and taking 141 wickets. He went on tour to Australia and despite losing the first Test, England won the Ashes 4-1 with Foster taking 32 wickets and scoring 226 runs. Unfortunately he suffered a compound leg fracture in a motor cycle accident in 1915 and his cricket career was effectively over. Gradually his life declined including gambling, huge debts and various unsavoury incidents and in 1946 he was banned from Edgbaston for his behaviour and by 1950 he had been admitted to Northamptonshire Lunatic asylum and he died there 8 years later. The postcards show Foster in his playing days and in his later days and both have 1951 inscriptions. Generally good
NIGEL MANSELL Signed postcard showing Nigel Mansell driving his 93 Lola-Cosworth Indy Car , signed by Mansell plus artist Timothy O'Brien, plus a programme for the 1993 Toyota Monterey Grand Prix (Indy Car) in which Mansell finished in eight position ( signed on cover by Thierry Boutsen). This was the last race of 93 and Mansell also finished eight overall for the season. Also includes a hardback first edition copy of Mansells autobiography published in 1995. Good
GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY - MANSFIELD FA CUP 45-6 Very scarce small format four page FA Cup programme, Gainsborough Trinity v Mansfield, FA Cup 1st Round second leg. Having won the first leg 3-0, Mansfield had to scrape home in extra time, losing this tie 4-2 and going through 5-4. One punch-hole but no print affected, no writing. Generally good

WORLD CUP 66 - LIVERPOOL Four items relating to the 1966 World Cup, 136 page World Cup Souvenir issued by Liverpool Post Office, first day cover with franking stating Portugal v Brazil July 19th Liverpool, , Plan of Seating for a Luncheon given by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool before the World Cup Semi-Final 25/7/66 ( some writing) and a large colourful 10" diameter beermat issued by Threlfalls Brewery showing the area of the ground and eight places where Threlfalls was on sale. Trophy and flags of the four countries playing in Liverpool shown in full colour (interesting item). Generally good
EVERTON 69-70 Everton Celebration Dinner Menu, 31/7/70 at The Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool, held to celebrate Everton winning the First Division 1969-70. Signed inside by Ball, Kendall, Royle, Labone, Morrisey, Harvey, West and many others plus the opposite side is signed "Best wishes Dixie Dean". 15 players + Dixie have signed. Generally good
LONDON CHARITY CUP MEDAL 1903-04 Gold hall-marked medal (with enamel) for the London Charity Cup, 1903-04. The Final was won by Casuals and the medal, (made by Vaughtons) complete with original case, belonged to C.O.S.Hatton who played for Casuals. He also played for Casuals in the first Amateur Cup Final in 1894 and was an excellent all-round sportsman excelling also at cricket, tennis and rowing., The medal weighs 8.5 grams and both medal and case with gilt inscription on lid are in very good condition. Very good
EVERTON - THE DOUBLE Magnificently boxed Everton limited edition Commemorative Shirt, DVD and Medal Box Set . The Double 25th Anniversary 1985-2010. Everton won the First Division tile in 84-5 and the European Cup-Winners Cup. Housed in a strong cardboard box with Everton logos on front and a summary of the results on the reverse. There are 16 autographs of the players around the rim of the box, signed in black.. Good
SIGNED CRICKET BAT Warsop-Hendren four star cricket bat signed in 1953 by cricketers from England and Australia, 12 from each country, England signatures include Hammond, Robertson, Fishlock, Hutton, Washbrook, Wright, Edrich whilst the Australians , many of whom represented the Australian Services team in the 1940s, include Hassett, Miller, Johnson, Ellis, Cristofani, Stanford, Williams, Pettiford, Roper, Cec Pepper, Sismey and Whitington. Many of these are rare signatures as although most played first-class cricket, few played at Test level after the 1945 Victory Tests in England which were not official tests.. Good ink signatures. 1930 WORLD CUP Fold out booklet for the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay, the first World Cup Tournament as prior to that date, the Olympic Games Champions were regarded as being the World Champions of Football;. This booklet has 10 fold out pages each measuring 8cm x 14cm plus 2 pages measuring 5cm x 14cm each. The twelve pages show, the World Cup trophy, the Stadium in Montevideo, an aerial photograph of Montevideo, 6 pages showing head and shoulders photographs of Uruguay players, one page shows the results of the Semi-Finals ( which Argentina and Uruguay both won by 6-1 scorelines against United States and Yugoslavia) and the result of the Final in which Uruguay defeated Argentina 4-2 and one column proclaims Uruguay as Champions. The front cover is captioned "Primer Campeonato Mundial De Football 1930 Montevideo Homenaje a los Campeones Mundiales". The booklet went on sale in Uruguay shortly after the Final.. Two of the spines have tape holding them together, there are a few folds and minor creases and slight ink marks on one side of the cover but overall condition is certainly "Fair" and possibly a little better. READING FC 1898 Four page fold over programme, Reading v Bedminster, 8/10/1898, Southern League Division 1. First team game, both teams finished mid-table with Bedminster totalling 24 points, the same as a certain Tottenham Hotspur !! . Bedminster played one more season after this and then merged with Bristol City. Generally good
