1933 Riley 9 Monaco SaloonRegistration no. AGP 393Chassis no. 6021470Odometer Reading: 84,903MoT Expiry: N/A *Older restoration presenting well*Running well*First owner kept it for 55 years Offering small-sized saloon sophistication, the Riley 9 Monaco saloon remains a highly usable pre-war model and this 1933 example, whose first owner kept it until 1988, is said to start and run very well, while the running gear and electrical system are in good order. Despite being restored between 1988 and 1991 the black bodywork still presents well, other than some shrinking to the roof material: the engine bay remains supremely tidy. The interior imparts an air of cars way more expensive and remains in good order throughout although there are some small holes in the front passenger seat. The headlining has been replaced. In all a highly desirable Monaco, of which few examples come to market. 1938 Austin Big SevenRegistration no. ETU 394Chassis no. 10779Odometer Reading: 86,603MoT Expiry: n/a *Late example of the Seven*Older restoration that has lasted well*Running well The first owner of this Big Seven would surely have been very proud of their car. Here was room for the family to enjoy Sunday drives into the country or to the seaside, while Austin's strong dealer network was reassuring for those wanting to drive further afield. This is an older restored example with good bodywork, paint and glass. The interior is original but is worn. The engine starts and runs well while the running gear, including steering, suspension and brakes, is in good order. 1936 MG Midget T-Series Pre-Production SportsRegistration no. JB 9946Chassis no. TA 0267Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: TBA *The 17th TA Midget built*Driven in the 1936 Continental Tour of Europe*Restored in early 2000s This pre-production TA Midget was given to William Brunell and his daughter Kitty to take part in the 1936 Continental rally which was organized by the MG Car Club. William Brunell was the first Englishman to win the Monte Carlo Rally (1926) and Kitty the only woman to win the RAC Rally of Britain, in 1933. The car's history goes cold until 1958 when a continuation logbook was issued in Trowbridge, Wiltshire and its history is documented, it staying in the Southampton/Winchester area. By 1970 it was near Brands Hatch, stripped and awaiting a restoration that never fully materialised. It was bought by the vendor in 1999 and restored in the early 2000s and is said to be in excellent condition throughout, the green over green colours adding a patriotic motor sport theme. Restored in the early 2000s this very early and consequently significant TA Midget should please not only pre-war MG enthusiasts but anyone after an attractive, usable sports car with an interesting past. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: PP This lot is owned by a private individual. Our vendor says the bodywork, green paint, glass and wheels/tyres are in excellent condition, while the interior has excellent seats and very good dashboard, door cards and trim. The engine is noted as good for starting, running and presentation. Running gear is described as good, but the vendor notes first gear can pop out if the driver lifts their foot from the accelerator pedal. 1949 Allard L-Type Tourer Registration no. UMC 486Chassis no. 71L822Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *Restored in the 1990s – minimal mileage since*10 survivors known*Vendor owned since 2010 This L-type was restored in the early 1990s by Bolton-domiciled Arthur Buckley, who had bought it in the early 1980s. Our vendor acquired the Allard in 2016 and continued re-commissioning work the previous owner had in train, which had included a re-conditioned Marles steering box in 2014. In 2017 new track rod ends were fitted and latterly fuel and ignition systems have been upgraded, work including the fitting of a new Stromberg carburetor and Mallory distributor. The white bodywork remains highly presentable while the red interior shows little signs of use. The hood was re-furbished late last year and new side screens fitted. Our vendor advises little mileage has been covered since the 1990s restoration and the car remains in generally very good condition. This 'family' Allard boast traditional flathead power and usability in a rarely-seen form. With just 10 survivors known this is a first-rate opportunity to acquire some Anglo-American muscle. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: PP This lot is owned by a private individual. 1952 Riley RMB SaloonRegistration no. LWD 371Chassis no. 6259219Odometer Reading: TBAMoT Expiry: Exempt *Full mechanical restoration*Garaged from 1961 to 1995*Said to be driving well The Riley RMB offered post-war British car buyers levels of social sophistication not found in more mass-produced models from the likes of Ford and Vauxhall. While its appearance seemed dated by those newly-introduced, Stateside-influenced models the Riley enjoyed a loyal, comfortably well-off clientele who valued the Riley name and the make's social standing. Here is a 1952 RMB that was used until 1961 and then garaged until 1995. It has since enjoyed a mechanical restoration, the vendor reporting it driving well, but following Riley Motor Club advice the body and interior was not restored. While the term 'oily rag' is over-used in today's classic circles, this still-debonair RMB retains the elegance that would have appealed to its first owner in 1952. 1986 BMW 628 CSIRegistration no. C894 WDGChassis no. WBAEA820108165522Odometer: 71000MOT: 14/10/2020*Good History File*Runs and Drives Well*Comes with current MoTThe 6-series was BMW's XJ-S challenger, and today its popularity continues unabated as it remains a first-rate latter-day classic that is capable of daily use and covering high mileages. MPH's 628CSi has some service history (there are several BMW dealer service stamps in the book) and, overall, presents well. The bodywork and silver metallic paint is good, the panel fit good too and our vendor notes with a little effort this '6' could be made into an excellent example. 6-series interiors were always elegantly functional and this car's – more unusually in blue – has leather seats and is all original but remains in good order. Engine-wise it starts and runs well, and the engine bay is tidy. Running gear is also good. Keenly estimated this 628CSi looks good value and has scope for the new owner to add their mark. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 67/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1986 Jaguar XJ-S TWR V12 HE 6.1-Litre Lynx Eventer Sports EstateRegistration no. D128 NYGChassis no. SAJJNAEW3BC130568Mileage: 71,798 but speedometer changed at 16,976 milesMoT: 09/09/2020 *Believed to be the only Lynx Eventer with in-period TWR upgrades*Full service history from new*Engine re-built in 2012 If the XJS model range lacked, it was in not offering an estate version, and the Lynx Eventer met that demand for XJS customers craving more load space, but without sacrificing all that model's plus points. While 67 are believed to have been built this, the 35th, is thought to be the sole example with in-period TWR upgrades. The first owner was Raymond Burton, son of Montague Burton who founded the Burton men's outfitters retail group. The engine was converted (at 341 miles) to the larger 6.1-litre displacement which resulted in a maximum output of 380bhp. The car changed hands once from Raymond Burton to a Sheffield businessman, who in turn sold it to a classic dealer in 2010, after which it passed to the vendor. Restoration on the sound (but ready for work) car commenced in 2011, the body being refreshed and the chassis repaired and wax-injected. A big-bore stainless steel exhaust system was fitted. Inside new burr walnut was fitted and the headlining replaced. In 2012 the engine was stripped and re-built and at the same ancillaries such as the radiator, water pump and brake master cylinder were replaced. Subsequently used regularly but in a sparing manner, could this be the ultimate XJS? As if Lynx Eventers were not already rare enough this example, fitted with a 6.1-litre TWR engine must surely rank among the rarest of all XJSs. With full service history it offers grace, pace – and space. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: PP This lot is owned by a private individual. SAJJGAED3ARD15360Mileage: 141,054MoT: Expired 05/02/2020 *Rarer body colour*Early example*Some later history The first-generation XK8 had a tough act in replacing the XJS but it proved immensely popular in the global market, the Ford parentage increasing quality levels and reliability. Here is an early XK8 in fixed-head guise, which is reported to have generally good body and paint while the trim and wheels/tyres are ranked as very good by the trade vendor. The interior (seats, carpet, dashboard and door cards) are scored as very good, they report. The engine is 'very good' for starting and its running, underbonnet area and mechanical components are reported to be very good. The running gear, including gearbox, suspension and brakes are ranked as very good but our vendor notes there is an exhaust blow. Early XK8s in generally good order are becoming hard to find but this example is worth a closer look. 1991 Land Rover Range Rover CSKRegistration no. H254JNFChassis no. SALLHABM3GA462052Odometer Reading: 110,000MoT Expiry: TBC *Rarely seen*Very good bodywork and paint*Mechanically very good The limited-edition CSK revived Range Rover's two-door bodyshell in limited edition form, selling out almost immediately as serious enthusiasts clamoured to be one of a very select group. Today, while not exactly granted mythical status, the CSK remains one of the most highly-desirable first-generation derivatives, being keenly snapped up when offered. Here is a fine example with very good bodywork and panel fit, and the black paint remains very smart, as does the trim. Worth noting is that the CSK decals to the tailgate and front wings are n place. Equally pleasing is the interior, which has mellowed lightly over the years. Seats are very good and the door cards equally smart, as is the dashboard. Sitting correctly and riding on very good original-specification alloy wheels here is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to expand – or indeed start – a Range Rover collection. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Please note mileage is 172,360 miles, not as catalogued.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The Ex-Robert Plant2002 Audi S8Registration no. VA02 UNHChassis no. WAUZZZ4D42N007566Odometer Reading: 199,800MoT Expiry: TBC*Offered with signed picture of Robert Plant*Running well*Good history fileOriginally owned by Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, this highly-specified and little-seen Audi S8 boasts some unique-to-year options and remains in excellent order given its age and mileage. With the bodyshell and panels made from aluminium there is no rust, and the panels present very well and the paint is very good with just a couple of small imperfections. The front tyres are showing signs of wear. Inside it is much the same, featuring a very good-order interior trimmed in leather and suede, seats front and rear being heated, while the generous specification includes factory-installed navigation system and parking sensors. While stored for two years – and consequently due a service and MoT test, the engine is said to start and run well and the running gear is said to be in commensurate order. Service history (including cambelt changes) consists of invoices and stamps to 165,000 miles, while receipts large sums spent on suspension re-freshing. With three subsequent owners after Robert Plant (whose signature appears on the PDI sheet), this S8, with first-class rock and roll credentials and covering just over 400 miles since passing its last MoT test, is certainly worth closer inspection. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 73/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 2009 Land Rover Range Rover 5.0 V8 Supercharged AutobiographyRegistration no. CN59 GGEChassis no. SALLMAME3AA312264Odometer: 105000MOT: 20/11/2020*Good Example*Presents Well*Overfinch WheelsAs its development progressed successive Range Rover models retained the go-anywhere capabilities of the first but became quicker and more luxurious, as this 5.0-litre supercharged Autobiography model shows. Offering the ride and comfort of the plushest saloons, today they represent great value and especially so when as well presented as this example, which pleasingly comes with a full-service history across its 105,000 miles. Bodywork, in white, remains in very good order and is free of dents and scratches. The panel fit is very good, and the bumpers are properly aligned, while the paint is good – as is the trim. Overfinch alloy wheels differentiate this model and are painted in contrasting black. The black interior is in good order, the seats showing little wear and for those sitting in the back, an entertainment system should help alleviate long-journey boredom. Reported to be starting and driving very well, this 2009 example looks to be sensational value when compared with prices of new models – with the bonus of lacking serious depreciation. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Please note the odometer reading is 106,187.Vendor Score Total: 78/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 2009 Land Rover Defender 110Registration no. TBAChassis no. TBAOdometer Reading: 12,500MoT Expiry: 04/01/2020 *£50,000-worth of modifications by Charisma*Running and driving well*Well presented inside and out – interior luxuriously upgraded While boasting first-rate off-road capabilities and, with later models, better on-road performance, even the most dedicated Land Rover enthusiast might concede the interiors can be lacking in comfort. A look inside this 110 will put paid to that train of thought, this 110 has had a full overhaul by renowned specialists Charisma, known for there customisation for many high net worth clients both here and abroad, they have worked on some of the finest cars and people carriers. Works include a full leather re-trim of the seats, headlining and dash, mood lighting for the rear passengers, private jet style pull out trays, custom drinks cabinet complete with crystal glassware, central touch screen for audio and TV, it has even had an automatic gearbox fitted, all of which presents in very good condition. The externals (bodywork, paint and trim) are generally good but, other than the larger wheelarches and alloy wheels, remains much as it left the factory. Engine and running gear are said to be very good. The vendor notes it has not been serviced since 2009 and since 2010 has been dry-stored, covering 500 miles since then.Rarely does a vehicle of such high attention to detail and use of the finest materials with master craftsmanship become available due to the extremely high cost to convert, having been converted 10 years ago and hardly moved since, it presents as new inside, the cost of such a conversion today would far exceed the £50,000 paid. 2010 Lexus RX 450HRegistration no. YT10 THNChassis no. JTJBC11A502018721Odometer: 174000MOT: 14/08/2020*Hybrid Car*Good Example*Runs and Drives WellThe Lexus range has expanded over the years from the original LS400 model into other saloons, sports cars and SUVs and the RX450 took European manufacturers on at their own game, while successfully upping the reliability and build quality ante to new levels for an SUV. MPH's 2010 RX450 has covered 174,000 miles from new but that mileage has been backed by a full Lexus service history, meaning it is good carry on racking up the distances while cosseting its occupants in superior comfort. This example boasts extremely good bodywork and paint, boasting first-class shut lines and no bumper scuffing. The interior is equally good, showing no signs or wear or maltreatment – a testament not only to Lexus build quality and material selection but to careful ownership. Engine, gearbox and running gear are all said to be very good. As a viable alternative to the later-generation Range Rovers the 450 makes great sense and this well cared-for model warrants closer inspection. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 70/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1999 Aston Martin DB7 V12 VantageRegistration no. V59 SBWChassis no. SCFAB1232YK300359Odometer Reading: 60,804MOT Expiry: 04/12/2020*Well maintained*Long MoT test*Great way into Aston Martin ownership*Six-speed manual gearbox The DB7's looks are as pleasing today as when it was launched and its graceful appearance hasn't aged as many of its rivals have. MPH is pleased to offer this 1999 example which presents well inside and out and has a comprehensive service history back to its earliest days. Bodily it presents well with very good panels and paint, the latter maintained by specialist who looks after Jaguar's show cars. The interior is good and has mellowed: our vendor says there is cracking over the veneers: cream and red leather seats, dashboard and door cards are in good order and journeys can be whiled away to sounds from the premium audio system but if that doesn't suffice the sports exhaust provides an equally enthralling sound. With an MoT until early December this DB7 appears good value, either as a first entry into Aston Martin ownership or to add to a collection. The manual gearbox makes this a true enthusiast's DB7 and it has a comprehensive service history.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 84/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH.
