World War One - Yorkshire Interest, a Memorial Plaque, Lance-Corporal Edward Jobson, Royal Engineers, of the New Inn, Thornton-le-Dale (formerly of Shipley), glazed easel mourning frame; Jobson was possibly the beau of Miss Annie Skaife, Farmwood, Ascot, Berkshire, whose three miscellaneous scrapbooks are included, they comprise a telegram from the Lance-Corporal's parents informing her of him being injured, a letter from Buckingham Palace thanking her for her contribution of 2s 6d to Princess Mary's Soldier's Christmas tin fund, as well as numerous b/w, colour and some comic postcards blank or addressed to her, mostly war-related, newspaper cuttings, portrait photographs, programme 'Choral Commemoration of the Heroic Deeds of the First Seven Divisions, Mons to Ypres, 1914/Royal Albert Hall [...] December the Fifteenth, 1917 [...]', further ephemera; etc., some content loose, [archive collection]

Great Britain - KGV : (SG 456a) 1935 Silver Jubilee 2½d, the famous Prussian blue, superb mint small hinge trace full fresh original gum example (light historical pencil annotation), fabulous fresh colour, perfs and centering. Unusually we've been fortunate to handle probably more than our fair share(!) of this rare colour error stamp within the past five years. Barely an example encountered is in top condition, most come with minor imperfection / blemish. This is the second time that we have handled this example, the first time realising precisely £10,000=. No faults example, accompanied by clear 1956 BPA Expert Committee photo-certificate signed by philatelic 'glitterati' Robson Lowe amongst others. As fresh today, 64 years later.
