Jean Gosselin a Paris, an 18th century French open face alarm pocket watch. In a foliate-pierced two-piece hinged case, 59.5mm diameter, Bulls eye glass, fusee movement with a latice-pierced bridge cock, silver 'Avance Retard' round regulation dial, square tapering 'Egyptian' pillars and engraved with the makers name, the dial with a central engraved-brass(?) rotating alarm disc with pointer, within a white enamel chapter with black Roman numerals. Condition Report: We do not guarantee any watch for accuracy, We haven't applied any power and so at this stage we would have to say not funtioning, however the movement doesn't appear on first inspection to have any obvious problems to the naked and uninformed eye. Case in overall good condition for its age, general wear and tear, hinge good, bell present.

The first engine turned, the second similar in gold-plated finish Condition Report: Both generally in good condition. Silver plated example has some knocks to the edges and the dial.The gold plated example has rubbing to the gilt in areas. Both show signs of general wear including scratches. Both open and close smoothly.

No apparent cracks, chips and decoration. Some general wear including rubbing to the decoration and light scratches (mainly to the base). Would benefit from a clean.

No evidence of repairs or obvious damage. The other in similar condition, small traces of the base material showing though not detracting from the piece

Otherwiae good condition for age.
