A 19TH CENTURY MARINER'S WOOLWORK PICTURE of HMS Minotaur and HMS Trafalgar, by Able Seaman Edwin Hayward, 20" x 32 1/2" in a maplewood frame, together with a daguerrotype photograph and a Certificate of Continuous Service detailing his time on these and other vessels. Edwin Hayward was born in Cheltenham, Glos and entered service 27th August 1862 aged 10. He first served on the Minotaur 31st January 1867 as an Able Seaman and on the Trafalgar 17th August 1870. He finished his naval service in 1872.

Warren Kerrigan, promotional booklet with b&w photo. illusts. and tipped-in col. illusts., orig. printed wrappers, together with twenty-eight b&w publicity stills, 10 x 8 ins, one signed and inscribed by leading male Kerrigan, plus thirteen publicity postcards (two coloured) from the same film This was remade in 1935 with Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland, being the first pirate movie with sound. Mutiny on the Bounty. A signed copy of Mutiny on the Bounty by Charles Nordhof and James Norman Hall, reprint, Boston, 1934, front endpapers neatly ruled and lined in double columns with the names of the cast in block capitals in the left column and the actors autograph signatures adjacent in the right-hand columns, including Charles Laughton, Clark Gable, Franchot Tone and Herbert Mundin, a total of thirty-seven names and signatures, the following two leaves (front free endpaper verso and half title recto) with good pen and ink drawings of a skull and anchor plus the Bounty at sea, pen, ink and pencil border decoration to title, with some pencil partially erased, rear free endpaper verso and pastedown with eleven further signatures of the crew and a good pen and ink drawing of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer lion logo, autographs include those of the director Frank Lloyd, producer Irvine [sic] Thalberg and cinematographer Arthur Edeson, a further eleven signatures in total, orig. cloth lettered and decorated in silver, sl. rubbed and marked, and partly faded on the spine, 8vo An extraordinary and unique piece of film memorabilia relating to the first version of 'Mutiny on The Bounty'. The illustration at the rear of the book is signed 'Harry Ravin, Pasadena'. The book was given to the owner's mother by David Thursby who played the (uncredited) part of Thomas McIntosh in the film and whose name and signature appears on the front pastedown. (1)

Original manuscript volume detailing county landowners, written in the hand of Peter le Neve, late 17th c., sixty-two leaves written in latin, in a neat hand (mostly to both sides of each leaf), 5pp. index of names bound-in at rear, contemp. calf, red morocco label to upper board entitled 'Placita H.3 Corum Rege', boards detached and extrems. rubbed, slim folio This volume appears to be an extract of a Coram Rege roll relating to individuals in various counties. Peter Le Neve (1661-1729) was Rouge Croix Pursuivant from 1690, Richmond Herald from 1703 and Norroy King of Arms from 1704. He was the first President of the Society of Antiquaries, a post that he held from 1687 (when only 26 years old) to 1724. He was Deputy Chamberlain of the Exchequer from 1693 to 1706 and elected fellow of The Royal Society in 1712, he was also a Freemason and a Unitarian.
