Cdr Edward Teddy Young DSO DSC Royal Naval commemorative FDC signed by submarine commander Cdr Edward Teddy Young DSO DSC* RN plus Daily Telegraph Obituary. He designed the famous Penguin Books logo still used today. British graphic designer, submariner and publisher. In 1935 he joined the then new publishing firm of Penguin Books and was responsible for designing the cover scheme used by Penguin for many years as well as drawing the original penguin logo. During World War II he served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve RNVR and became the first British RNVR officer to command a submarine. After the war he returned to the publishing world and eventually became managing director of the Rainbird Group. Having written his wartime biography, One Of Our Submarines, in 1952, he later wrote several other books. Good condition

Jack Lousma and Gordon Fullerton signed 10 x 8 colour STS3 photo. STS-3 was NASAs third Space Shuttle mission, and was the third mission for the Space Shuttle Columbia. It launched on 22 March 1982, and landed eight days later on 30 March. The mission involved extensive orbital endurance testing of the Columbia itself, as well as numerous scientific experiments. STS-3 was the first shuttle launch with an unpainted external tank, and the only mission to land at the White Sands Space Harbour near Las Cruces, New Mexico. The shuttle was forced to land at White Sands due to flooding at its originally planned landing site, Edwards Air Force Base. Good condition

Newman, Sergei Krikalev. STS-88 was the first Space Shuttle mission to the International Space Station ISS. It was flown by Space Shuttle Endeavour, and took the first American module, the Unity node, to the station. The seven-day mission was highlighted by the mating of the U.S.-built Unity node to the Functional Cargo Block Zarya module already in orbit, and three spacewalks to connect power and data transmission cables between the Node and the FGB. Zarya, built by Boeing and the Russian Space Agency, was launched on a Russian Proton rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan in November 1998. Other payloads on the STS-88 mission included the IMAX Cargo Bay Camera ICBC, the Argentine Scientific Applications Satellite-S SAC-A, the MightySat 1 Hitchhiker payload, the Space Experiment Module SEM-07 and Getaway Special G-093 sponsored by the University of Michigan. STS-32 was the 33rd mission of NASAs Space Shuttle program, and the 9th launch of Space Shuttle Columbia. Launched on 9 January 1990, it marked the first use of Launch Pad A at Kennedy Space Centres Complex 39 since 1986; it also marked the first use of Mobile Launcher Platform No. 3 MLP-3 in the Space Shuttle program. STS-32 was, at the time, the longest shuttle mission yet conducted, with a duration of nearly 11 days. Before STS-32, the only mission of the same duration had been STS-9 in 1983. On 20 January 1990, STS-32 executed the third night landing of the shuttle program. Good condition

Tyrwhitt also led the British naval forces during the Cuxhaven Raid in December 1914 when British seaplanes destroyed German Zeppelin airships and at the Battle of Dogger Bank in January 1915, in which action Tyrwhitt again supported Beattys powerful battlecruiser squadron.
