Reprinted 1957 versionThunderball - again scattered wear and loss to the edges and corners of the dust wrapper, one small inscription to the back page in pencil with the number '17' written, pages are in generally good condition, with very light scattered signs of discolouration, primarily to edges and corners. A Pair of Victorian Figured Mahogany Hall Chairs, each with shaped and moulded crest rails, fretted carved splats, plain wood seats, on leaf and scroll carved supports with stylised paw feet First chair - to the whole there is general light scattered scratching and darker staining and polish build-up.  At the back of the seat where the back connects it is loose, to the left hand side of the back at the base there is a small vertical shrinkage split around 4ins long. General heavier scratching to the back on the right hand side. On the right leg one of the scroll brackets is missing. General heavier wear to the feet and legs commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound however there is a lot of movement in the joints. Second chair - general signs of heavy scattered scratching to the seat and back. There are signs of heavy polish and stain build-up. The back edge of the seat where is connects to the back the adhesive has dried and is now beginning to separate.  On the right hand side of the stretcher that meets the back leg there is a vertical shrinkage split around 2ins long. Around all three front edges of the seat there are some signs of rubbing and there is a large edge knock to the very front. Flight holes present, evidence of historic woodworm. General heavier wear to the base and feet commensurate with age.  Overall the item is structurally sound however there is quite a lot of movement in the joints.

Alvar Aalto (1896-1976) for Littala - Savoy vase in amber tint 8ins wide x 5.5ins high, with etched mark to base and date 1936-1996 Note: Alvar Aalto's ten vase designs won first prize at the 1936 Karhula-Littala Glass Design Competition with this design, taking inspiration from the waves  ("Aalto" in Finnish) of the sea There is scattered pitting to the interior and exterior sides of the glass as well as scattered scratching to the exterior base/underside of the vase. Prospective buyers are strongly advised to inspect all images in the Dropbox closely prior to bidding as these images constitute part of the condition report.

An 18th Century Figured Walnut Chest on Stand, the upper part with moulded cornice, plain frieze, the front crossbanded and inlaid with herringbone stringings, fitted two short and three long graduated drawers, with with reeded canted corners, the base fitted three short drawers above shaped apron, on later cabriole legs, 40ins wide x 21ins deep x 66.5ins highAt the top of the upper part there are three horizontal shrinkage splits to the top running from one end to the other. There is heavy dark scattered scratching and pitting and staining. Around all three front edges of the cornice there are signs of general rubbing and edge knocks and there are extensive signs of shrinkage with horizontal and vertical shrinkage splits each around 1ins long. On the left hand side there are two vertical shrinkage splits running from one end to the other. On the right hand side there is a central vertical shrinkage split running from one end to the other and to the left of this there is a smaller shrinkage split running vertically around 16ins long. On the back right hand side there is a small shrinkage split around 8ins long. To the front of each drawer there are extensive signs of shrinkage with numerous shrinkage splits and cracks present. On the second drawer, the first long drawers there are numerous areas of veneer patching and repair. On the top right small drawer there is an area of veneer loss in a triangular section around 2ins long. On the second long drawer there are numerous areas of veneer repair. To the base on the right hand side at the front there is a small semi-circular section of veneer loss on the right hand side. There is a vertical shrinkage split running from one end to the other, the same on the left hand side. The legs are later replacement. There are flight holes present evidence of historic woodworm. The handles and lockplates appear to be replacements. The drawers are oak lined however the carcass is pined and veneered in walnut. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints. It has been repolished fairly recently.

Bruce James Talbert (1838-1881) for Cox & Son - 19th Century silver plated Nef or table ornament in the form of a boat, mounted on wheels, the bow surmounted by a dragon, the ribbed sides with a lunette cast frieze, the base engraved 'KAISER WILHELM 11 SMY Hohenzollern 11', 7.75ins long x 8.25ins high overall Note: This design appears in the Cox & Son catalogue of 1873 (reprinted in 1876). Cox & Son had a shop on The Strand and their catalogue claimed to supply 800 designs of furniture, Gothic metalwork, carpets and hangings by 'eminent church designers'. Two nefs of this form are known, the first exhibited 'The Best of British Design from the 19th and 20th Centuries', Sotheby's March 2008 no.PR40 ('gilt metal'), and the second in the collection of Paul Reeves (un-gilded metal). Lyon & Turnbull sold a similar nef  - 14th February 2019, Lot 125. Talbert was a Scottish architect, interior designer and author, best known for his furniture designs.  Kaiser Wilhelm II, eldest grandson of Queen Victoria via his mother, Victoria, Princess Royal. His yacht 'SMY Hohenzollern II' was in service from June 1892 - 1920, was named after their House of Hohenzollern Extensive rubbing to plating primarily on highlights all over and underside. Some scattered residue of cleaning agent.

A Pair of Edwardian Mahogany and Inlaid Oval Two Tier Lamp Tables, each with cross banded edge to top, frieze inlaid with stringings and with oval panels, fitted one frieze drawer, conforming under tier, on tapered legs, 23.5ins x 17.5ins x 30ins high To the top of the first table there is general light scattered scratching  and on the left hand side there is a small horizontal shrinkage crack around 4ins long.  On the edge of the top all the way round there are scattered areas of shrinkage to the cross banding with vertical lines or cracks each around 0.5ins in length running horizontally and vertically. Around the edge of the top there is general rubbing and some edge knocks.  General heavier wear to the lower tier and legs commensurate with age. On the left hand front leg there are two small areas of moulding loss each around 2ins long in a rectangular section and the same for the back left hand leg. Overall this table out of the lot is structurally sound however there is some movement in the joints and is rather flimsy.  Other table - general light scattered scratching to the top. Extensive cross banding or veneer loss on the outer edge and veneer cracking and bubbling all the way round in vertical and horizontal lines or cracked sections. All the way round the edge of the top there is some general rubbing and deeper edge knocks.  On the back right hand leg there are two areas of moulding loss each in a rectangular section and the same for the front left hand and back left hand leg.  General heavier wear to the feet and uprights commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound however there is some movement in the joints and the item is rather flimsy.

A Pair of Modern Mahogany Open Front Waterfall Bookcases of Regency Design, by David Bartram, each with tray tops, panelled backs and central divisions, with three graduated shelves, moulded divisions and uprights, fitted two drawers to base, on five turned and reeded feet, 40ins wide x 15ins deep x 58ins high Provenance: Private Commission 2005 First bookcase - to all the shelves there is some general light scattered scratching. Drawers run free and easily with minimal resistance. General light heavier wear to the feet commensurate with age.  Second bookcase - to all the shelves there is some general light scattered scratching. Drawers run free and easily with minimal resistance. General light wear to the feet commensurate with age. Overall both of the bookcases are in a good overall condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration.

A Pair of 20th Century Mahogany Tray Top Bedside Cabinets, with handle cut-outs to top, enclosed by single doors with dummy book ends to front, on square chamfered legs, 19.5ins wide x 17.5ins deep x 30.5ins high First cabinet - to the top there is some general light scattered scratching and darker polish build up. On all four corners of the tray top there are two vertical line caused by shrinkage.  On the back edge of the top the timber is slightly warped and has moved away from its inset handle at the top.  The books are slightly distressed at the front and around the escutcheon there are numerous small scratches.  The key is present and the locking mechanism works. General heavier wear to the legs and feet commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints. Second cabinet - there is some light scattered scratching to the top and some darker stain build up. Around all four corners of the top there are two vertical lines due to shrinkage. The books are distressed to the front. Key is present and locking mechanisms work. General heavier wear to the legs and feet commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints.
