Elton John: Sheila Farebrother`s record collection, containing a large quantity of Elton John`s first pressings, in near mint condition

Lot 292

The Krays: Two letters from Ron Kray, in Brixton prison, the first dated 3rd March 1969 on the eve of the verdict, stating that they will "know tomorrow" and that if they go down JP is to "go and cheer my mother up". The second dated the 5th March 1969 is the first letter after their conviction where he highlights the sentences received

Lot 293

The Krays: Two letters from Ron Kray, in Brixton Prison, indistinctly dated, the first requesting that it be stated in the book that he is "bysexual" yet in the other rescinding this idea

Lot 298

The Krays: Two letters from Ron Kray, in Parkhurst prison, the first dated 28th March 1970 stating that he "is in the punishment block for asault on a screw, I am waiting for the V.C. to come and give me my punishment", the second also refers to punishment

Lot 303

The Krays: Two letters from Reg Kray, one from Parkhurst, the other from Brixton prison, in the first he is comparing his thoughts of the `McVitie` trial at the Old Bailey to his memories of when he was in court in March 1950 for GBH, again in 1957 and in 1964; the other refers to the 1968 trial and the lies of witnesses

Lot 304

The Krays: Two letters from Reg Kray, in Brixton prison, dated 27th March and 9th June 1969, the first refers to evidence from Payne, Cooper & Mitchell and what he thinks of them. He also talks of the FBI and spies, the second also refers to the trial and the testimony of Dixon, errors in the case, reminiscing about The Double R and how the 60`s were one legal battle after another

Lot 305

The Krays: Two letters from Reg Kray, in Brixton prison, 31st October 1968 and 10th January 1969; the first includes an amusing anecdote of a night out Reg had had where he tells of a guest telling him to change profession to which he replied "I could probably pick you up out of the chair and put you on the floor!!!" and how a film star annoyed him; the second where he is frustrated because "everyone we ever had a drink with in the pack says they were in fear of Ron and I. If only the jury and general public could see how most of them used to guzzle the drinks and behave before all this started"

Lot 307

The Krays: Two letters from Reg Kray to his then girlfriend Frances Shea, and one from her to him, dated 13.9.1960 and 7.2.1961, with a copy of her funeral card These letters are of particular importance in the light they throw up on Reg`s first marriage in 1965. While Frances shows her innocent excitement at the thought of marrying this famous criminal, Reg`s description of what he dreams of doing to her after his release, clearly hints at some of the perversions that ended in Frances`s suicide in 1967.

Lot 308

The Krays: A threatening letter to JP from the Kray twins, written by Reg but signed by Ron, about the fairness of solicitors, sharing the responsibility of libel action, expressing views on the division of money and being taken advantage of. Accompany the letter is a first edition of `The Profession of Violence` by John Pearson, 1972, signed, no d.j.

Lot 309

The Krays: A collection of eight letters from Ron Kray, to JP listing various people and places to visit and other jobs to do, some with anecdotes; with six notes and a signed first edition of `The Profession of Violence` by John Pearson, 1972, no d.j.

Lot 317

The Krays: The Ron Hart Manuscript and Memoirs, an eighty two page account of Ron`s life with and working for the Kray`s, including insights into the murders of Frank Mitchell, George Cornell and Jack `The Hat` McVitie, with details of Reggies marriage and gang life including "The Rota for Violence", each page is signed. With a secondary manuscript beginning "Those were the Krays my friend and I thought theyd never end". Accompanying this is a letter from Ron Kray referring to Hart as "one of the worst Judas their ever was, he has turned out the most detestable person" and the authors transcript interview. After the Twins themselves, the Ron Hart material, contains probably the most detailed and important unused first-hand information on Kray Twins in the entire archive. A former merchant seaman, pimp and small-time criminal, Hart was a first cousin of the Twins on his mother`s side, and as such enjoyed a particularly trusted position when he joined `the Firm` in 1963. He was at the centre of the whole Twins` operation, including the murder of Cornell, and in 1967 he became a self-confessed accessory to their murder of Jack `the Hat` McVitie. As such, having turned `Queen`s evidence`, he became the key witness against the Twins in their Old Bailey Trial in 1969 when they received 30 year sentences apiece for the Cornell-McVitie murders. The manuscript includes a blood-curdling first-hand account of the frenzied murder of McVitie, precise information on the Kray`s widespread protection rackets throughout London and an unpublished description of the obscene behaviour of Lord Boothby at one of Ron`s sado-masochistic sex-shows. Ron subsequently disappeared, and despite assistance from Scotland Yard`s missing person`s bureau, JP has been unable to discover any information of his whereabouts. At the time there were rumours from the underworld, that the Twins had had their cousin dealt with from inside prison. Ron Hart`s memoirs are unrivalled. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only copy in existence.

Lot 321

The Krays: The John Pearson Archive of typed interviews and notes recorded between 1967 and 1972. This archive covers interviews with both Twins, Charlie, other family members, gang members such as Cowley, Payne, Morgan, Dickson, followers of the Twins, Secret Service notes, police interviews, psychiatric reports on both brothers and his first hand typed report of the 1967-1968 murder trial. It also includes JP`s four hand written note books on the trials, the first coveres the remand hearings in 1968, the other three follow The Old Bailey trial from April to July 1969. This is an unrivalled and extremely rich source of contemporary information on every aspect of the lives of Ron and Reg Kray, much of it never referenced or previously published
