Obverse gilt central roundel with head of Queen Victoria surrounded by legend “Inaugurated Nov 6 1869”, below which is the red and white enamelled crest of the City of London, 2 small roundels bearing views of Holborn Viaduct and Blackfriars Bridge left and right, crown above, the whole superimposed over sword and mace. Reverse engraved “William Ferneley Allen Esq. Alderman”; with Belgian Palmes of the Order of the Crown. EF. Included with a cutting from Illustrated London News 1857 Lord Mayor’s Day Bill of Fare showing Allen then as Sheriff. The first item only illustrated Plate 1 Note: William F. Allen became Lord Mayor of London in 1867, he became the subject of some satirical cartoons when he preferred his private carriage to the Lord Mayor’s coach for his procession as the latter gave too much of a jolting ride

WW1 British Binoculars and engraved Wristwatch to Lt SA Crum, Seaforth Highalnders. Lt Crum was KIA on first day of the Somme, 1st July 1916. Plus telegram advising his personal effects would arrive back in Dumfries, 19rh July 1916. Binoculars are by Heath and Sons of London. Case named to Lt SA Crum, SH.
Football Memorabilia: A "Charles Buchan Football Monthly - Volume 1" bound set of twelve magazines all neatly placed - first issue September 1951, then complete run to August 1952, together with 17 "Post Football Guides" in a run from 1949/50 then 1952/53-67/68 and a framed 1989 semi-final FA Cup ticket.
WW1 British Royal Flying Corps Sweethearts. Three different designs all in 9cwt Gold. First in Wishbone design with RFC Wings superimposed, ,375 marked and makers mark of "S Bros" Another in the form of a Propeller blade with centre boss detail set with Turquoise marked 9ct. Final one is an RFC Pilots Wing design with 9cwt marks to both broach and pin. All pin backed. (3)
Yeomans of Signals Joseph William Evans RN, J19089 - served in both World War I and II, joined the Royal Navy in 1912 where he trained at Shotley Barracks(known in the Royal Navy as HMS Ganges, and was a naval training establishment at Shotley near Ipswich in Suffolk, starting in 1905 it trained boys for naval service until it closed in 1976) as a junior signalman, in World War I he served on HMS Galatea and won a 1st medal in boxing in 1918, in 1930 he volunteered to serve on submarines and was sent to the Far East on HMS Odin, from 1933-1936 he served on HMS Hood then subsequently on HMS Cairo which was in Narvik Fjord for over a month during the first battle of Narvik, during this time she was hit by three bombs, one of which exploded next to the signal office, Joseph was the only survivor, he retired from the Navy in 1946 and returned to life as a postman in Birmingham. An extensive postcard and photograph album archive with real photographs from his time at Shotley Barracks, to serving on HMS Galatea (to include ships logs) and on HMS Hood and a personal account of Joseph's service written by his Grandson
WW2 British 43rd Inf Div RAOC paperwork group, plus 43rd Wessex Inf Div formation signs, 46th Inf Div private purchase formation signs, Royal Warwicks cap badge, Notts and Derbys cap badges, War Crimes Trial Pass. The solider was first Notts & Derbys, later with the Warwicks. Served at Dunkirk and until demobbed in 1946.
George Jobey Archive: A Derby County Football Club supper brochure (Officials, Menus and Toasts), held at the Drill Hall, Derby, on the first of October 1934, to celebrate the 50th anniversairy of the club, with some Derby County signatures to the front cover and a pencil drawn cartoon to the inside.
London 2012 Olympic Stadium athletics track Lane No.1 marking, a section of the red vulcanized rubber dual layer athletics track installed by the Italian manufacturer Mondo, removed from its position at the termination of the sprint track beyond the 100m & 110m (hurdles) starts, bearing the 'No.1' lane marking in white in the "2012Headline" typeface designed by Gareth Hague for the London 2012 Games, the first time that an Olympic running track was marked with anything other than generic Arabic numerals, a top corner of the section also bearing the curved inner white line marking from the 400m round track's No.9 lane as it intersected the sprint track turning in for the home straight, measurement approx. 110 by 90cm., as such a smaller section than the other lane markers being offered at this auction; sold with a certificate of authenticity issued by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and the Mayor of Newham (2) Lane 1 of the nine lane track was rarely used in athletics event ran in lanes from start to finish, the exceptions being some qualification heats featuring a field of nine. Also Lane 1 was used in the final of the men's 4 x 400m Relay when South Africa (Shaun de Jager, Willem de Beer, Louis van Zyl & Oscar Pistorius) were reinstated following a successful protest that one of their athletes had been tripped in the qualification heat, resulting in a nine team final. However, it goes without saying that lane 1 saw the majority of traffic in track events over 400m.

A bronze medal was won by Carmelita Jeter (USA) in the women's 200m. No gold medals were won from Lane 9 at the Paralympics.
