A very scarce generals sabre from the Napoleonic period dating: early 19th Century provenance: Kingdom of the Two Sicilies Curved, single-and false-edged blade with wide fuller at the center, the first half engraved and gilt (missing parts at the gilding) with trophies, moon, sun, eye and stars; marked "JOSEPH STARKEY & Co. CONDUIT St. LONDON" at the back; brass hilt, with cross-quillon, quillons ending in acorns, decorated with relieved floral motifs at the center; Oriental-style, ivory grip scales. Chain. Iron scabbard (areas with damages from rust) with beautiful, gilt-brass mounts, richly pierced and engraved with floral motifs. Two suspension rings. dimensions: length 87 cm.

Iron scabbard with brass pockets, decorated en suite and featuring two suspension rings. An important sample of the ability of the artisans from Naples to decorate important arms with steel pearls. dimensions: length 97.5 cm.
