A rare Belleek First Period serving dish and covercirca 1863-90of oval form, the shell moulded with pink scallop shells and coral picked out in pale blue, printed factory mark in black,24.2cm wide (restored)Condition report: Some good restoration to the four slightly raised stems of coral to the underside of the base. The shell finial to the cover has also been broken off at some stage, with some further good restoration to the finial alongside the blue coral supporting the shell to cover this repair.
A Belleek spill vase, First Period (circa 1863-90), the tall vase surrounded by a gecko or salamander, on a naturalistic circular base, black printed factory mark, 22cm high; together with a Belleek First Period seahorse with shell vase with the pink-tinted interior, black printed and impressed marks, 10cm high(2)Condition report: Salamander with small section of glaze loss and discolouration to the tip of its nose alongside three small hairline cracks to the underside of the base, probably manufacturing flaws.Seahorse shell with small shrinkage crack to one side of the stomach area and one further shrinkage crack to the underside of the base.
Two French bronze and marble figural mantel clocks, the first surmounted by a gilt bronze figure of William Shakespeare, seated beside the movement barrel and set on a shaped white marble base, the eight-day movement striking on a bell, 39cm wide x 28cm high, the second surmounted with a bronze figure of Jean de la Fontaine writing, seated beside a fox and a swan atop the movement barrel, set on a white marble base, the eight-day movement striking on a bell, 35cm wide x 29cm high. (2)Condition report: Shakespeare: Figure and barrel have some surface wear and scratches. Barrel finial loose. Dial poor, cracked, marked and retouched. Marble base fair with some hairlines and cosmetic marks. Movement winds and strikes but does not run.Fontaine: Figure and barrel appear fair to good with minor/typical rubbing in places consistent with age and use. Dial good. Base has nibbles to the edges and corners and a crack to one side. Movement winds, runs and strikes. Not tested for time keeping or longevity.

A pair of Belleek First Period spill vases in the form of fishlate 19th centurymodelled vertically posed with open mouths, standing on naturalistic bases, printed factory mark in black and relief-moulded diamond registration mark,19cm high (2)Condition report: Some good restoration to the mouth and head of one vase. This fish also has a dark hairline crack running across the top of fin, near where it meets the rest of the body.The second vase is without repair but has two hairline cracks to the top of the fins.
Two French hand-woven tapestries, 19th century, the first of Aubusson type, worked with a central flower medallion within scroll and flower spandrels against a beige ground and with a turquoise linen fringe border, 177cm square, the second worked with a scene of a walled town beside a river viewed through leafy trees and bushes, within a formal foliate border, 160cm x 142cm. (2)Condition report: Aubusson type: consistent fading throughout. Some minor staining in places. Small hole/tare bottom left. Some tares to bottom and top edges at fringe border joins. Fringe edges frayed. General signs of age and use throughout.Landscape: Consistent fading and loss of colour. General moderate ware and signs of age.

They are first quality.

Typed/printed draft, unbound, with marginal notes and annotation, the editor's sections in Xerox (the more extensive annotation is printed), title page inscribed 'For Mr. Neville', main body of text inscribed in pencil, 'spare copy of Neville's memoir', together with another printed proof/draft of the same work with manuscript title and list of sections 'to come', housed in worn brown paper wrappers, inscribed, 'From C E Baron, St Catharine's Coll. Cambridge UK'. The synopsis of the final published work describes George Henry Neville as 'D. H. Lawrence's closest childhood friend', making his memoir an important first-hand account; it was first published by Cambridge University Press in 1981
