WW1 British Airco DH.1 Wooden Propeller. Designed by Geoffrey DeHavilland for the 2 seater DH1 Fighter/Bomber Biplane. The propeller was of the pusher type fitted to the rear of the cockpit. Size 9 ft and 1/8th inch. Markings B, DG 130, D 270, P 200, HP 120 Beardmore. Number B26290. Designed for the 120 Horsepower Beardmore engine. The DH1 first saw operational service in the Middle East in 1916. Last known action in March 1917. Withdrawn from service in 1918.

Ellen Nussey was a lifelong friend of Charlotte Bronte, and her correspondence was a major influence for this landmark biography. There is a hole above-left of the head of the sitter, a long tear through the canvas upper right with paint loss. Restwell; together with other items including an exide battery; Normond fuel tank gauge; an amperes meter; a telephone with headset dated 2/8/41 (Serial PC14); small signalling lamp and an assorted collection of turned wooden practice weight dumbells (qty)P.M Longmore was promoted to the rank of Captain in the Royal Regiment of Artillery in January 1949 and was previously awarded the Military Cross. A World War I medal pair, awarded to '37829 PTE A. O'Connell S. Wales Bord', together with a World War I trio awarded to 'R.M.B. 982 Mus J.S. Owens'J.S Owens served as a Musician with the Royal Marines Band Service onboard HMS Queen Mary. The ship was sadly lost, along with its crew, at the Battle of Jutland in 1916 after being hit twice by the German ship Derrflinger and suffering a magazine explosion near the start of the battle. J.S. Owens is commemorated on a memorial at the Royal Naval School of Music dedicated to those who trained at the school lost their lives during the First World War.
