Undated.A circular-shaped plate, crafted from schist, a metamorphic rock known for its durability and fine-grained texture, this plate showcases a captivating depiction of a hunting scene. The scene portrays a lion in the act of attacking an ibex, both of which are positioned adjacent to a peepal tree. The elongated body of the lion is gracefully curved in a U-shape, complemented by incised markings on its mane, a raised tail, and meticulously rendered legs with discernible claws. In contrast, the ibex is portrayed with its head raised, seemingly engrossed in the act of plucking leaves from the nearby tree. The ancient region of Gandhara, situated in present-day northern Pakistan and eastern Afghanistan was renowned for its rich artistic heritage. Gandhara thrived as a prominent cultural and trading center during the first few centuries AD. The region's strategic location along the Silk Road facilitated cultural exchanges between the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia, and the Hellenistic world. This cross-cultural interaction resulted in the emergence of the distinctive Gandhara style, characterized by a harmonious blend of Greco-Roman artistic traditions and indigenous South Asian elements. A leading figure in the 19th and early 20th Century revival of painting in tempera, Southall was the leader of the Birmingham Group of Artist-Craftsmen—one of the last outposts of Romanticism in the visual arts, and an important link between the later Pre-Raphaeliites and the turn of the century Slade Symbolists. In June 1903 Joseph Southall married his first cousin, Anne Elizabeth Baker. Joseph and Anne (known as Bessie) lived at 13 Charlotte Road, Edgbaston, a house which belonged to his uncle, George Baker, which was to be his home for the rest of his life. Although both were fond of children they made a conscious decision not to have any themselves. According to the art consultant and author Peyton Skipwith, "She (Anne) was forty-four and he nearly forty-two; they had been intimate friends and companions for many years and had always intended to marry, but because of their close kinship had consciously waited until she was passed child-bearing age." Anna frequently accompanied Joseph on his regular visits to "Southwold, Suffolk, or Fowey, Cornwall, and to Italy or France".The Agate: Portrait of the Artist and his Wife, painted in 1911, resides in the National Portrait Gallery collection.

High Quality 19th Century Writing Slope once owned by Lewis Randle Starkey MP (1836-1910). What is obvious from this box is that they were makers of quality and their use of a Bramah Lock (Brass lock plate stamped "Bramah J.Dyus London") and Berry Patent wells are testament to this. This box is remarkable for its completeness original tools and travelling inkwell and vesta case (likely to be Berry's). This is a double action slope opening first to reveal three reusable faux slates to use with a pencil. This section then opens again to reveal a a slope to one side. The piano hinges are all solid brass and the lock a top-notch Bramah (no key), a true sign of quality, this would have been an expensive box in it's day. The leather exterior is embossed in a quilted design and has a heavy duty cast brass carry handle to the top, coordinating with the brass escutcheon. The handle engraved "Lewis R Starkey". Pen knife by Joseph Rodgers and Sons of Sheffield. The company's trade mark was a star and cross. Rodgers was one of a handful of cutlers with a Royal Warrant. Cutlers to Her Majesty refers to Queen Victoria.Lewis Randle Starkey (13 March 1836 – 16 September 1910) was a British Conservative politician. He was the eldest son of John Starkey of Spring Lodge, Huddersfield and his wife, Sarah Anne, daughter of Joseph Armitage, a millowner of Milnsbridge, Yorkshire. Following education at Rugby School and the University of Berlin he entered "commercial pursuits" in Yorkshire.[2] In October 1857, he was commissioned a lieutenant in the 2nd West Yorkshire Regiment of Yeomanry. In 1858 he married his namesake, Constance Margaret, daughter of Thomas Starkey. He was appointed a deputy lieutenant of the West Riding of Yorkshire on 6 December 1867,[4] and was promoted to captain in the Yeomanry on 22 February 1868.In 1868 he was chosen by the Conservative Party to be a parliamentary candidate for the Southern Division of the West Riding of Yorkshire, but failed to be elected. He was the party's candidate again at the next general election in 1874, and was elected in the place of the sitting Liberal member of parliament, Henry F Beaumont. By this time, he was living at Heath Hall, near Wakefield. Starkey only served one term in the Commons, losing his seat at the 1880 general election.Having left parliament, Starkey and his family moved to Norwood Park, near Southwell, Nottinghamshire in 1881.[8] He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1891, was an alderman on Nottinghamshire County Council, and was appointed a deputy lieutenant of the county in January 1891 He was a director of the Midland Railway. Starkey's eldest son was John R Starkey, who became MP for Newark, and a baronet. Lewis Randle Starkey died in September 1910, aged 74.

2004 Range Rover believed to be Ex-HM Queen Elizabeth II Transmission: automaticMileage:There can be few cars that are as well-known and iconic as the mighty Range Rover. Launched in 1970 and built in the UK, this leader in the 4x4 field is now on its fifth incarnation. Enjoyed by Royalty and celebrities alike, the Range Rover is both aspirational and practical. The car has been described as 'the best 4x4 by far' and has been the winner of numerous awards. This example has possibly one of the most interesting and regal starts to its life, circumstantial information leads the vendor to believe that this was originally delivered to the Royal Estate for use by the HM Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip in London and Balmoral. First registered in 2004 and supplied by Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations as per contract 34319. It has been confirmed by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicles that this example was specified with a modified front grille with covert blue lights, switch pack (to power said lights), front and rear seat covers, dog guard, load space mat, side steps and mudflaps, this all an addition to the standard car options which are found with the Heritage Certificate and include heated front and rear seats, non UWB door lock frequency and tinted glass all round to mention a few. Ordered of course in Epson Green with Sand (Oxford Leather), the 4.4 litre V8 boasts air suspension, and the car is currently with its fourth owner with none of the previous aware of what could have been such illustrious beginnings. The car was supplied by SV to an unknown dealer code, EXEL AMS, for whom the British Motor Heritage Trust themselves cannot track details for apart from a detail recall print off from JLR which identifies that in July 2004 the car was sent to Stratstone Land Rover, Mayfair for a warranty recall before a similar warranty recall at Peter Vardy Land Rover, Aberdeen, the closest Land Rover dealership to the Balmoral Estate. With the Royal Family traditionally frequenting Balmoral between July and September, the assumption being that the car was seen in Mayfair before being transported to Balmoral where it was again seen after the family left to return to London¦ the plot thickens! Upon requesting details from the DVLA, the vendor has been refused any previous keeper's details, a copy of the letter can be found in the history file alongside photographs of what is believed could be the car with the Queen driving, showing the colour. The image shows the dog guard, and the seat covers but sadly as yet no image has been uncovered showing Queen Elizabeth and the cars registration number. Further possible telling indicators of the cars beginnings include duel rear window switches, these are not JLR standard parts but could be ordered and fitted by dealerships, this has been seen before with the Queens Daimler Majestic and enable the rear passenger (possibly the Queen) to control the other rear window thus stopping the wind blowing directly into her face or displacing one of those fabulous hats! Furthermore, keen eyes will spot on the door pillars there are rear climb handles to assist entry and departure from the car, this is something believed to be unique to the Queens Range Rovers due to her insistence of no assistance from staff when entering and exiting the car thus the handles along with the side steps enabled comfortable entry for a lady who would have been in her late 70's at the time. The final piece of circumstantial evidence leading the vendor to firmly believe this was indeed her majesty's car are the two reasons he embarked on this voyage of discovery, he noticed one day when cleaning his car there were two areas where the car had filler and in odd places, one on the bonnet, two marks clearly visible from the underside and one to the rear on the roof. The rear is believed to be for the radio comms arial also seen in a photo of a L322 Range Rover driven by the Queen and the front believed to be where the Labrador mascot was mounted as also seen in photos. The car now is in very good order, the vendor has chosen to keep the car as original as possible in the hope that the provenance can be cemented. Having covered a little over 109,000 miles from new, the service history is comprehensive with its first service in April of 2005 with Stratstone Mayfair before a further five with Hunters Land Rover, two with specialists in Windsor before a further five services with John Dennis in Aylesbury before a recent Land Rover service this July ready for the Auction. Confined to the garage and minimum use, the car is possibly one of Jaguar Land Rover more important cars of the last 20 years and could be an incredible piece of Royal provenance. The vendor is hoping that should someone have a photo of this car and her majesty driving or as passenger they will send to Historics auctions@historics.co.uk but regardless the circumstantial evidence is compelling and all signs certainly point toward this indeed being property of the late beloved Queen Elizabeth II. Guide Price £28,000 - £38,000
2005 Mercedes-Benz SL350 Transmission: automaticMileage:88125The R129 models were produced from 1989 through to 2001 and sold under the SL-Class model names. The R129 replaced the R107 SL-Class in 1989 and was subsequently replaced by the R230 in 2001. The R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 saloon and featured many innovative details for the time. It came to public attention in 1991 when Diana, Princess of Wales, sold her Jaguar XJS to lease a J-registration, metallic-red 500 SL, becoming the first member of the Royal Family to use a foreign car. This controversy sparked a media storm as it was questioned whether a member of British Royalty should drive a foreign car. The fifth generation of the legendary SL series, made by Mercedes-Benz, was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof- a first for the SL class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997.This fabulous Mercedes-Benz is presented in blue with a grey leather trim and is in unmarked condition. The original service books are present and HK55 HBE is accompanied by a good service history. These are very well-appointed vehicles with electric seats, cruise control and automatic transmission all coming as standard equipment. The power hood works perfectly and we are advised by the very fastidious vendor that this SL350 drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 4th May 2024. These models never seem to age and are extremely practical as well as being elegant and swift when one needs to be somewhere in a hurry.Guide £11,000- £13,000
1973 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible by Karmann Transmission: manualMileage:99852The VW Beetle is a true icon of 20th Century motoring and occupies a significant position in the minds and hearts of drivers and enthusiasts across the globe. The Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform anywhere in the world with over 21 million cars produced between 1938 and 2003. The VW Beetle has seduced many a first time buyer, collector and classic car enthusiast. And for obvious reasons; the parts network is comprehensive and inexpensive, the ability to convert the base model into many different variants was always available and the cost of the car itself presented a gateway into classic car ownership. This example was registered new in 1973 and was imported into the UK in December 1990. The Beetle has had two owners since being imported into the UK, the first of which treated the Volkswagen to a colour change to black, converted it to right hand drive and registered the car as a historic vehicle. The current keeper has maintained the car when necessary with notable work including extensive welding to the chassis and inner wings in 2019. Presented in black coachwork over a red leather interior and black hood. The hood is in good condition and the Fuchs style alloy wheels complement the Volkswagen very well indeed. The interior is in good order and the paintwork retains a deep shine although there are some age-related blemishes. In current ownership since 2017 the Volkswagen comes with a history file detailing previous maintenance documents, sundry bills, old MoT test records and the current V5C registration document. What better way to enjoy the summer than in a 1600cc Volkswagen Beetle convertible!
1982 Lancia Montecarlo Transmission: manualMileage:52225The Lancia Beta Montecarlo is a mid-engined sports car which was produced from 1975 through to 1982. Cars from 1975 to 1978 were known as a Lancia Beta Montecarlo and the latter cars produced from 1979 to 1982, were simply known as Lancia Montecarlo. Both series were offered in coupé and spider versions and were constructed by Pininfarina. The total production amounted to 3,835 first series Beta Montecarlo's and 1,940 second series, of which only 172 cars were right hand drive coupés.This particular example presents in fantastic, largely original condition. The vendor had the aim to sympathetically refresh the car, retaining as much of the original paint as possible. The car had some repairs to the sills and outer door skins earlier in its life but on the whole, our vendor was so impressed with the condition of the car when he saw it, he decided to buy it. The interior also presents in fantastic condition, showing it has clearly been in the hands of enthusiasts for its whole 41 years and 52,000 miles. Our vendor has spent a reasonable amount of money on the car whilst in his ownership, the largest invoice coming from Freelance Motors in Devon in 2018. The work carried out came to a total cost of £1,945.48, for work consisting of a Guy Croft racing exhaust, which gives a lovely tone without being too shouty. Other work included a wheel alignment, big end shells, sump replacement, front and rear springs, suspension poly-bushing, front shock absorber, a thorough service and various gaskets and mountings. The car has also been cared for by Darren Cooksey, who is hugely knowledgeable on Lancia Montecarlo's. He did a timing belt change, fuel pump change and recent carburettor rebuild, along with various other small jobs. This Montecarlo is an excellent example, which our vendor has enjoyed using regularly in the summer months and sometimes even uses it to commute to work. He reports the car is always a joy to drive.
1968 MG C GT Transmission: manualMileage:54820The MGC was the first 'high performance' version of the MGB platform, as had been the plan from early in the design stages of the MGB. A range of 'V' engines were tested but did not make it to production. The MGC was very much more than just a tuned MGB and in fact was a completely re-engineered car, although still retaining many visual connections to the MGB. On the outside, the MGC was often mistaken for an MGB, as the only visual differences were in the heavily bulged bonnet with a transverse chrome strip that accentuated the bulges and the standard use of 15" wheels instead of 14" on the MGB. Inside, there were few differences between the B and C, other than the 140mph speedo and tacho with a yellow and red banding set against lower rpms than the MGB. Under the skin however, the differences became obvious with most changes up front. The engine was a BMC C-Series six-cylinder 2912cc development of that used in the Austin Healey 3000 and Austin Westminster. This required a new torsion bar front suspension along with uprated braking. The gearbox was also a new stronger all synchromesh unit with optional overdrive. Only produced between 1967 and 1969, the MGC GT is a rare car with only 2,034 right hand drive models being built and far fewer remaining. This particular example is presented beautifully in the ever popular, Primrose Yellow with a black vinyl interior, which is also in great shape. The cars biggest party piece is the addition of power steering, something which really transforms the driving experience on a day-to-day basis in a classic car, and an upgrade which comes at great expense. The car comes with a raft of invoices for various consumables and jobs over the years. If you are looking for a 60's GT car to use right away, or even a useable classic to dodge the ULEZ zone, then look no further.
1977 Land Rover 88" Transmission: manualMileage:39835The 1977 Land Rover 88 holds a special place in the hearts of off-road enthusiasts and adventurers. This iconic 4x4 vehicle is known for its ruggedness and reliability. With its compact size and short wheelbase, the 88 model is highly maneuverable, making it perfect for conquering challenging terrains. Powered by a robust engine, it delivers impressive torque and traction. The simplistic yet functional design of the Land Rover 88 is world famous. Whether traversing rocky landscapes or navigating muddy trails, the 1977 Land Rover 88 is a symbol of adventure and exploration. This pleasant and practical example presents well in the classic colour of Land Rover Atlantic Green and was registered in February 1977. This classic 4x4 has benefitted from an impressive list of works that includes the fitting of a galvanized chassis and bulkhead, a five-speed LT77 gearbox and transfer box, a new radiator, extended shock absorbers, parabolic springs, a new rear door, a new windscreen and all-round disc brakes. On a recent drive this Land Rover fired-up first time and was a joy to drive having been fitted with power steering and running on BF Goodrich tyres. The seats have been modified to accommodate a taller driver and the rear is fitted with inward facing bench seats. Presented to auction with a V5C registration certificate and a comprehensive file detailing all works undertaken this ever popular model is offered without reserve.
2005 Ford GT Transmission: manualMileage:6507The 'new generation' GT was developed by Ford's Special Vehicle Team Engineering department under the direction of John Coletti and Fred Goodnow. The prototype was released in 2002 in anticipations of Ford's 100th anniversary celebrations, with production commencing in late 2004. The composite body panels are unstressed, as on the original GT40 of the 1960's, but instead of the monocoque chassis construction used in the 1960s, SVT Engineering developed an all-new lightweight aluminium spaceframe combining extruded sections and panels. Doubling as fuel reservoirs, a pair of massive sills contributed much to the original's chassis stiffness, whereas the new 'GT40' relies on a centre-tunnel 'backbone' that greatly improves ease of entry and exit. The suspension design is an advance on the original's, consisting of unequal-length control arms and a pushrod/bell-crank system acting on horizontally mounted coil spring/damper units. Braking is handled by six-piston Alcon calipers with cross-drilled and ventilated discs all round. In defeating Ferrari's more highly stressed V12s, Ford proved that the traditional American V8 possessed all that was necessary to compete at the cutting edge of international endurance racing. A far cry from the simple pushrod units of the 1960s, the Ford GT's supercharged MOD 5.4 litre V8 produces 550bhp at 6,500rpm and 500lb/ft of torque at 3,750 revs; figures on a par with those of the 7.0 litre engine that won at Le Mans in 1966 and 1967. The six-speed all-synchromesh manual gearbox/transaxle uses ZF internals and was sourced from RBT Transmissions. The interior features leather upholstered Recaro bucket seats with aluminium ventilation grommets embedded into the panels. The instrument layout follows the original's, comprising analogue gauges and a large tachometer complemented by modern versions of the traditional toggle switches.Back in 1966, the Ford GT40 endurance racer became the first car to exceed 200mph along the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans. Matching that would be some achievement for the production road car, even allowing for nearly 40 years of technological progress... Tested for Motor Trend magazine by Indycar racing legend Bryan Herta, the Ford GT duly topped 200mph at Ford's Kingman test facility in Arizona, emphatically demonstrating that it was indeed worthy of that famous name. The GT also has stunning acceleration, sprinting from 0-60mph in approximately 3.8 seconds. This stunning Ford GT was purchased and imported by the current owner from the USA at the end of 2004. It is the first Ford GT to be registered in the UK which was completed in January 2005. Since 2005, this excellent example has only covered 6,500 miles from new and has had twelve services, the last was carried out in May 2023. It has also been MoT'd every year since 2008 with the exception of 2021 when the MoT stations were closed. Finished in black with black interior, this is one of the few Ford GT's which was supplied without stripes and decals which in our opinion makes the car look even more striking and powerful. This GT is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2024 and a file contain invoices from Mountune, GT101 and RJB Autokraft for the services carried out. This Ford GT is a legendary supercar that pays homage to the iconic Ford GT40, which dominated endurance racing in the 1960s. With its breath-taking design and blistering performance, the Ford GT has captured the hearts of automotive enthusiasts worldwide.
1971 Range Rover Suffix A Transmission: manualMileage:52752Although now responsible for a whole lifestyle movement, the Range Rover had more humble beginnings. The first-generation Range Rover was introduced in 1970 and was not designed as a luxury 4x4; whilst certainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, the early Range Rovers had fairly basic, utilitarian interiors with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards that were designed to be washed down with a hose. Convenience features such as power assisted steering, carpeted floors, air conditioning, cloth or leather seats and wooden interior trim were fitted later in the production run or as options. Marketed as 'A Car For All Reasons', the Range Rover was more capable off-road than the Land Rover but was much more comfortable, offering a top speed in excess of 100mph.First registered on 1st July 1971, the Range Rover offered here is what can only be described as the holy grail of early Range Rovers. The supplied British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate shows this home market Tuscan Blue 'Suffix A' example was dispatched on 21st June 1971 to the Henley Limited dealers in London. With only four former keepers, this legendary vehicle shows a wonderful patina, whilst also showing off how original it is. Having covered only 52,752 miles, it clearly led a fairly pampered life. The body is exceptionally rust free, with all the usual trouble spots showing no signs of corrosion and in fact, in many places, paint that would polish up to a gloss. Tell-tale plastic bungs reveal the car has most likely been Ziebarted which may go some way to account for the body's incredibly condition. All the details are correct, from the drop-down rear number plate, to the screw-off fuel filler. Inside the car doesn't disappoint either, it is all complete including the centre console 'Palomino' vinyl covering, along with the footwells, roof and door cards all present. Having formed part of two major collections over the past twenty years, it has been dry stored and always maintained in running order. A thorough, but sympathetic mechanical recommissioning was completed in 2002 and the vendor reports the car to run and drive very well to this day.Supplied with a V5C registration document, BMIHT certificate, 2015 Land Rover Monthly magazine article, recommissioning parts list, workshop repair manual and promotional catalogues. Impossible to replicate, this may be the most original Range Rover in existence and a vehicle for the true connoisseur.
1994 Jaguar XJR Transmission: manualMileage:103755The first XJ was launched in 1968 and the designation has been used for successive Jaguar flagship models since then. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have had the input of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder. A number of incarnations of this extremely robust and admired saloon appeared over the years finishing up in September 1997 with the X300 saloon. The top of the range model in the line-up was the XJR. This model was the first car from the Coventry manufacturer to feature a supercharged 4.0 litre engine. The impact on sales for Jaguar was dramatic with the Midlands company enjoying one of the most successful sales periods in its history.Originally registered on 18th November 1994 this Jaguar XJR is fitted with a manual gearbox and as such, is a very exciting car to drive. The 3980cc straight-six engine is a good reliable unit, however the supercharged version as this is, offers brisk performance by any standards. At the time of launch Jeremy Clarkson described the Jaguar XJR as the best car in the world to drive. Finished in metallic red with Oatmeal leather interior, this XJR comes with air conditioning, heated front seats and an electronically operated sunroof. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 5th April 2024, this Jaguar XJR is offered for sale without reserve.

1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec Transmission: manualMileage:122857While many of the PlayStation generation may have first experienced the drama of the R34 GT-R V-Spec via Gran Turismo, it was an appearance in The Fast and the Furious franchise that led to an explosion in global popularity for the R34 GT-R. Indeed, Paul Walker drove an R34 GT-R in 2 Fast 2 Furious, enhancing its almost mythical status. But it was in the 'real' world where the R34 GT-R V-Spec would cement its reputation. Described by Evo magazine as 'a warrior-class performer' in its 2007 road test, where a standard R34 GT-R was pitted against the likes of a McLaren F1, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari F40 and Bugatti Veyron, the GT-R's reputation as a class act remained intact. The V-Spec (Victory Specification) was offered with a number of upgrades over the standard R34 and came equipped with arguably one of the most technically sophisticated four-wheel-drive/steer chassis in the world: the ATTESA E-TS Pro system. The V-Spec also benefitted from an active limited-slip differential at the rear. Along with its mechanical upgrades, the V-Spec also had firmer suspension and lower ground clearance, as well as a rear carbon fibre air diffuser. The Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec offered here was first registered in Japan in March 1999 and is presented in gleaming black with a grey interior. It comes with factory fitted radio/cassette, air conditioning and electric windows. Its fabulous six-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and it comes with a copy of its export certificate, V5C registration document and its MoT test certificate which expires in November 2023. The car was recommissioned at marque specialist Paul Cheshire Automotive with all fluids changed along with a precautionary cambelt change. These early versions of the iconic R34 generation Nissan Skyline GT-R series are coveted by collectors because they are increasingly difficult to find, particularly in standard, unmolested form. This superb V-Spec example remains original throughout and would be a prime example to drive and enjoy.
1995 Volkswagen Golf VR6 Transmission: manualMileage:78000Produced from 1991 to 1997, the Volkswagen Golf VR6 arguably kicked off Europe's obsession with the mega hatch as it epitomised the ideal balance of performance with everyday usability. Replacing the 1990 Volkswagen Golf GTi G60, this front-wheel drive, five-seat, compact hatchback is part of the Mk. III generation Golf, which came in three or five door variations. It also came with the option of a five-speed manual gearbox, or a four-speed automatic. As far as fuel economy is concerned, this car should achieve around 30mpg, meaning a full tank should cover 350 miles before requiring a refill. These cars are pretty rare, as today there are only around 850 Mk. III VR6s on UK roads. First registered on 19th May 1995 and costing £19,920, this metallic blue VR6 is a three-door manual example. Described as totally original and even featuring the uprated, from factory, Sony HiFi upgrades, this example boasts just three former keepers, the last a lady who has owned the car since the turn of the millennium. The car has recently undergone a light restoration and is offered with an MoT test certificate until June 2024. The history file contains a full book pack and a comprehensive service history with significant paperwork for previous maintenance. This is a true unmolested example of the iconic 90's hot hatch when big engines in smaller cars become all the rage and Volkswagen's V6 was the perfect combination.Estimate £3,000-£7,000
1959 Jaguar XK150 Fixedhead Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:7934This lovely right hand drive car is presented in its original colour of Old English White with red interior, on its original number plate 692 BTT. The car's originality is supported by a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, certified copy of the Devon Archives, and inspected by the London XK specialist from the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. This example also retains its original engine, chassis and gearbox with working overdrive in original livery. Mr. Sanderson of Torquay first bought 692 BTT new in March 1959. From there it appears that the car was owned by Wing Commander Graham Rogers MBE DFC, a pilot in the RAF's 92nd squadron. From there it was exported in 1983 to Turin, Italy, where the car was awarded the numbered status of Historic Classic Car (HCC), confirming originality, and the car carries the club badges on its front badge bar today. 1965 Morris Mini Cooper Mk. I (998cc) Transmission: manualMileage:40798This superb and largely original Morris Mini Cooper is a one owner from new example. Purchased by the vendor as a 21st birthday present to himself on 9th June 1965 through dealer, Wadhams Holdings Limited of Chichester, where he was completing an apprenticeship at the time. The vendor chose to collect the Mini directly from the Longbridge factory production line and subsequently drove the car back to Wadhams on trade plates. With the help of Wadhams he immediately set about completing some modifications to the car which included fitting wheel arches all round and changing the colour from Tweed Grey to the Opalescent Silver Blue it wears today.Since then, the Mini has resided with the vendor at his West Sussex home covering a mere 40,798 miles from new. Dry stored for the past 33 years, this Mini is in very good and largely original condition. It has never been restored but maintained and recommissioned where necessary and as such it is showing some light patina. The paintwork is good, and the original interior has survived very well indeed. On our inspection the Cooper fired up on first turn and sounded fantastic.Fitted with its original and rare Cosmic alloy wheels, matching numbers engine and gearbox, and its original registration number 'GBP 777C'. The history file that accompanies the car includes the original sales invoice from Wadhams Holdings Limited, many old MoT test certificates including the most recent undertaken in 2017, old tax discs, various sundry bills, the original buff logbook, original workshop manual and drivers handbook, original service booklet with stamps, the vendors hand written vehicle maintenance log, current V5C registration document, and the Heritage Certificate confirming its original specification. This wonderful Mini Cooper Mk. I, complete with its excellent history is a real time warp example and offers a one off opportunity for Mini enthusiasts and collectors alike. Offered at a very sensible reserve due to the vendors advancing years, we are sure this British classic will be keenly contested at auction.
1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Dual Cowl Open Tourer Transmission: manualMileage:9064In 1925, the 'New Phantom', with its overhead-valve engine and four-wheel brakes was introduced. The example offered today left the factory in October 1928 for coachbuilders Arthur Mulliner to be fitted with coachwork for its first owner, Lord Hillingdon of Paulerspury, Northamptonshire. (A photograph of the finished car appears in 'Those Elegant Rolls-Royce' by Lawrence Dalton). In the post-war years, it fell into disrepair and was finally taken off the road in 1961. After lying unused for over 40 years, the car was then purchased in 2002 by the previous owner who set about returning '83WR' to its former glory. This most elegant example has have been the subject of an extensive restoration over the years with the engine rebuilt from the ground up by noted Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists, Ristes, in 2003. The cylinder blocks were rebored and honed to +040" with oversized pistons fitted, top and bottom faces skimmed and waterways cleared with external surfaces stove enamelled as original. The crankshaft was ground to undersize with new white metal bearings fitted. Oilways were cleaned out and new plugs fitted with new white metal bearings to con-rods and new camshafts fitted. The bottom face has also been skimmed flat with new valve guides, exhaust valves and rocker faces built up and re-profiled. 2004 Aston Martin DB9 Transmission: automaticMileage:74028The sleek superformed aluminium body of the DB9 was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. It was powered by a third generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 and has a top speed of 186mph. The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual die-cast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. The DB9 body shell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. The fine detail of finishing is typified by the starter button made of glass and sand etched with the Aston Martin wings logo. This example is presented in dark metallic blue with cream leather interior, which is arguably the best colour combination. It comes with a service record from 2004 to 2017 where it shows servicing from various Aston Martin specialists. The present owner has had the car professionally stored whiles in his ownership and hardly driven it hence his decision to sell. These cars are a joy to drive, emitting a very throaty staccato sound from the characterful V12 engine, whether cruising on a wave of torque or wringing it out in fast road driving. This fabulous sports car can now be purchased at a fraction of its original sale price when new and still looks stunning.
2000 MG F Transmission: manualMileage:69800The MGF was the first new model designed as an MG since the MGB that was produced from 1962 to 1980. It was initially designed by the Rover Group during the period it was owned by British Aerospace and was brought to market after the business had been sold to the German car manufacturer BMW. It was powered by a 1.8 litre K-Series 16-valve engine, the basic having 118bhp while the more powerful VVC (variable valve control) had 143bhp. Steve Harper of MGA Developments produced the initial design concept in January 1991 having been inspired by the Jaguar XJR-15 and the Ferrari 250LM, before Rover's in house design team refined the concept under the leadership of Gerry McGovern. An interesting feature of the F was its Hydragas suspension, a system employing interconnected fluid and gas displacers which provided a surprisingly compliant ride, but which could be tuned to provide excellent handling characteristics. This MGF was originally registered on 15th March 2000 and has clearly been well cared for by a true enthusiast owner. Indeed, the car benefitted from uprated brakes and a stainless steel cooling system amongst significant expenditure lavished on the little 1.8 pocket rocket boasting the VVC (variable valve control) engine with 143bhp. A good history file accompanies this MGF including the book pack. Looking resplendent in the colour combination of silver with an unmarked black interior, this MGF is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until January 2024. This is a great fun car for a modest outlay.Estimate £2,000 - £5,000
1983 Volkswagen Mk. I Golf GTi Transmission: manualMileage:137000Launched in 1974, the Golf represented a complete break with Volkswagen tradition, yet it would prove as big a sales success as its Beetle predecessor. In GTi form the Golf has become one of the great icons of modern motoring, giving rise to an entirely new class of sporting saloon - the 'hot hatch' - in the process. First seen at the Frankfurt Show in September 1975, the GTi came with a 1.6 litre, fuel-injected, 110bhp engine which, in a car weighing a mere 846 kilos (1,861lbs) resulted in a performance package of a type not seen since the demise of the Mini Cooper 1275 S. Increasing competition from rival manufacturers prompted the introduction of a 1.8 litre GTi in 1982, and although maximum power increased only slightly to 114bhp there was a considerable improvement in mid-range acceleration. This example of the iconic Mk. I Golf GTi was first registered on 4th February 1983 and supplied with the Volkswagen Classic Parts build certificate. Presented in its original colour black with matching trim, the incredible restoration is frankly better than when the car was supplied new, and the car still holds the registration number etched into side windows. Within the history file are significant amounts of invoices for restoration work that has taken place including invoices for the parts fitted including items such as set of period correct Pirelli Cinturato tyres and matching refurbished spare wheel with brand new matching Pirelli tyre, all new braided/zinced fuel lines, top tint windscreen, full carpet set and Zircotec coated inlet manifold, new window seals, correct Sachs suspension and brakes. The engine was subject to a full rebuild including new water pump and cambelt with again photos of work completed. Inside, is a period correct Blaupunkt cassette player discretely modified for Bluetooth connectivity which complements an unmolested and as original as they come example which we are told runs, drives and performs superbly with two sets of keys and all locks on matching key. A new MoT test certificate until July 2024 is included and as our owner asked for a full comprehensive inspection at this time the lack of exhaust heat shields was highlighted which have now been sourced and fitted, other advisories were the front ball joint rubber seals could need replacing, a slight coolant weep and near side wheel bearing, subsequently both front ball joints have been replaced, new heater control valve fitted (coolant leak) and wheel bearing now adjusted so the car is perfect, befitting of a multiple show winning example.Accolades include multiple concourse and show and shine winners in recent years with trophies at events such as VW Festival, Deva Dubs and Rods, VW Breakout and Back 2 Basics for which the trophies are included in the sale. A fully restored original example that is possibly one of the best examples in the UK today.
2000 Honda NSX Transmission: automaticMileage:55060The Honda NSX was produced between 1990 and 2005 and is equipped with a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive layout powered by an all-aluminium V6 featuring Honda's Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system. In 1984, Honda commissioned the Italian car designer Pininfarina to design the HPX (Honda Pininfarina Experimental), which had a mid-mounted 2.0 litre, V6 configuration. Following Honda's decision to pursue the project, the management informed the engineers that the new car would have to be as good as anything coming from both Italy and Germany. The HPX concept car evolved into the NSX (New Sportscar experimental). The original performance target for the NSX was the Ferrari 328; subsequently revised to the 348 as the design neared completion. The bodywork design had been specifically researched after studying the 360° visibility inside an F-16 fighter jet. The car's strong chassis, rigidity and handling capabilities were the results of Ayrton Senna's input with NSX's chief engineers while testing the prototype car at Honda's Suzuka Circuit during the development stages. Today, the NSX is still considered by owners of the marque as one of the most reliable exotic cars ever manufactured with many examples comfortably exceeding 100,000 miles without serious reliability issues. This stunning, low mileage first-generation example of the legendary Honda NSX is presented in Sebring Silver metallic with a black leather interior. Having spent its life in a pampered surrounding in Japan covering a mere 55,000 miles from new this example was imported in early 2023. An automatic example currently awaiting its UK registration which may arrive prior to the sale. Amazingly the NSX first came to market some 33 years ago, but the driving experience is as impressive as it was in 90's. This NSX is accompanied by a comprehensive history in Japan that would benefit from translation. A Honda NSX is an ideal acquisition for the discerning enthusiast or collector and one of the best drives of the modern era, viewing is highly recommended. Interested parties should note that this vehicle is now UK registered and a V5 registration document has been issued from the DVLA and will arrive shortly.
1950 Morgan 4/4 Drophead Coupé by Ellis Brothers Transmission: manualMileage:23692The Morgan Plus 4 was the Morgan Motor Company's first car with four wheels, introduced in 1936 following the end of production of the famed three wheeled motorcycle engine model. In 1950, the new Plus 4 appeared, with a 2,088cc Standard (later Triumph) engine producing 68bhp and delivering an 85mph top speed. The Plus 4 also featured a stiffer frame, improved front suspension, and Girling hydraulic brakes. Three bodystyles were offered: the two-seater, the four-seater, and the drophead coupé. Always a popular choice for sports car enthusiasts across the globe, the combination of the typically British 1930's styling with its flowing wings, modern performance and reliability have ensured the Morgan is as popular today as it ever has been. This is a rare example of this British classic with coachwork by Ellis Brothers in Newton Abbot and is believed to be one of only three built with drophead coupé bodywork by City Garage in Exeter. It is presented in red with a black interior and black hood. Showing lovely patina throughout, the car comes with a large history file and its original buff logbook. The first owner had the car for some 50 years and although this pretty sports car runs and drives, it will want re-commissioning as it has been stored for few years.
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 427 Transmission: manualMileage:11729This Chevrolet Camaro SS 427 is an impressive example of the iconic classic American muscle car, offered from long-term ownership, and enhanced with a number of discerning performance upgrades. Originally manufactured in Norwood Ohio, this example was imported and first registered in the UK in February 1990 and was with its previous owner for 28 years and used sparingly whilst being kept in fine mechanical health, having only covered approximately 5,000 miles during this time.Repainted in 1993 as part of a photographic restoration, this Camaro SS is now finished in Fathom Green over a black vinyl-trimmed interior, featuring chrome and wood veneer trim accents. It rides on a set of 15" American Racing 'Torque Thrust' alloy wheels finished in metallic green with anodised lips, shod in BF Goodrich Comp T/ A tyres. The factory specification includes twin front spotlights, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, manually operated windows, heater and ventilation controls, transmission tunnel-mounted battery voltage, oil temperature, fuel and oil pressure gauges, an analogue clock and this example now also features a white cue-ball gear knob, Hurst shifter, Alpine cassette stereo, Kenwood door speakers, and a passenger footwell-mounted fire extinguisher.Under the bonnet sits an upgraded 427 cubic inch (7.0 litre) Corvette-sourced naturally aspirated V8, now understood to produce up to 425bhp and driving the rear wheels via a Muncie 'M21' close-ratio four-speed manual transmission. The Corvette-sourced 427 cubic inch engine has been upgraded with an Edelbrock Torker II intake manifold, Hooker competition exhaust manifolds, a Holley 750cfm carburettor, MSD 6AL ignition, a Crane competition camshaft, aftermarket oil cooler, heavy-duty radiator, and finned Mickey Thompson rocker covers. Other upgrades include poly-graphite suspension bushes, Spax adjustable shock absorbers, a 12-bolt Posi-traction differential, cowl induction bonnet, a plumbed-in Lifeline fire extinguisher system, and Slapper traction bars. The most recent engine oil service was carried out in 2021 by the previous owner, a professional mechanical engineer. 2004 Jaguar XK8 Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:61190Jaguar was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company by Sir William Lyons in 1922, originally making motorcycle sidecars before developing passenger cars. The name was changed to Jaguar after World War II to avoid the unfavourable connotations of the SS initials. Sale to BMC happened in 1966, which in 1968 merged with Leyland Motor Corporation and became British Leyland. Jaguar cars today are designed in Jaguar Land Rover's engineering centres at the Whitley plant in Coventry and at their Gaydon site in Warwickshire and are manufactured in Jaguar's Castle Bromwich assembly plant in Birmingham. The Jaguar XK series was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show on 5th March 1996. The first generation of the series, the XK8, replaced the XJS and was available as a coupé and convertible. The XK8 was the first eight-cylinder vehicle produced since the Daimler 250. The XK8 came with 17 alloy wheels, leather interior, burr walnut trim, and side airbags as standard. This lovely example is presented in Zircon Blue metallic with cream leather interior. The car has upgraded brakes all round, cruise control, ABS and alloy wheels as standard. It also has electric wing mirrors, fully electrically adjustable seats with memory function and two driver seat positions and auto active headlights. Its sound system is Jaguar AM/FM radio/cassette and has as six-disc CD changer in the boot. The dark blue hood is in good condition as indeed is the car in general with the latest service having been carried out at the end of May this year by Powerball in Taplow. The service history is good with servicing carried out by a mixture of Jaguar and specialist garages and with it only having two owners from new, this example presents itself very well and is offered without reserve.
1970 Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:89260There is little doubt that the advent of Jaguar's E-Type revolutionised the motoring world and sent the press into raptures, the penmanship that created such exquisite lines was truly gifted. The Museum of Modern Art recognised the significance of the Jaguar E-Type's design in 1996 by adding a blue roadster to its permanent design collection, one of only two cars to receive the distinction. This three-dimensional beauty, however, was complemented by a fabulous double-overhead cam, six-cylinder engine that powered this lithe, taut creature comfortably over the 100mph mark. Jaguar, rightly, were not content to sit upon their laurels however and continue to develop the E-Type with the first substantial improvements arriving in 1964 with a newly enlarged 4.2-litre powerplant increasing torque and improving driveability. In 1968 open headlights without glass covers, a wrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned and larger front indicators and taillights below the bumpers, better cooling aided by an enlarged 'mouth' and twin electric fans together with uprated brakes are all hallmarks of Series II cars. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a more industrial 'ribbed' appearance. The interior and dashboard were also redesigned with rocker switches being substituted for toggle switches. The dashboard switches also lost their symmetrical layout. This very good Series II Jaguar E-Type roadster has been in long term ownership with the last owner buying the car in January 1988. According to the letter attached to the sales agreement the previous owner purchased the Jaguar in 1976 with a recorded mileage of 38,000 miles and it was fitted with a new bonnet and repainted. The letter also states that in 1980 the rear suspension, brakes and differential were overhauled, in 1984 the cylinder head and gearbox were rebuilt and in the summer of 1987 the car was completely repainted, and a new rear bumper fitted. Supplied with the car is a file of invoices and which shows that it was re-trimmed in 2007 and major engine work was carried out by marque specialists Thomas Barclay Ltd in 2013. Shortly after it was MoT'd in August 2014 the car was placed into dry storage where it has remained until very recently. At the time of being catalogued the Jaguar has been checked through and the engine started. This very good 1970 Jaguar E-Type roadster is finished in Old English White with dark blue leather and matching dark blue cloth hood. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document and a file containing past invoices, old registration documents and some old MoT test certificates. This Jaguar is being sold with the cherished number plate 275 CAT with a value of £4,000.
1972 Fiat 500 Abarth Recreation Transmission: manualMileage:293The Fiat 500 surely needs little introduction, suffice to say that this compact car became ripe for tuning with Abarth leading the way in converting them into successful fast road and racing cars of the period. With genuine Abarth models now seeing some extraordinary prices, it is no surprise that many have been converted to replicate these versions of the Fiat 500. However, the surprise is the condition of this particular example. This stunning example was manufactured in 1972. It was first registered in the UK in 2015. It has been in our vendors tenure since June 2015. During his tenure the car has benefitted from an engine rebuild, retrimming of the interior and the sunroof, and repainting. It is presented in pale blue with its recently fitted, black and red interior. This look is enhanced with Abarth clocks and steering wheel. It is UK registered and we are informed is a joy to drive turning heads wherever it goes
1972 Fiat 500 Lusso Transmission: manualMileage:35185Designed by Dante Giacosa, the Fiat 500 was produced between 1957 and 1975 with limited production of the Fiat 500K estate continuing until 1977. Measuring only three metres long and originally powered by a tiny 479cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term 'small car' and is considered one of the first city cars. Despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular car throughout Europe, capturing the hearts and minds of the public. The 'L' or Lusso was manufactured between 1968 and 1972 and featured a much more up to date interior including a renewed dashboard that gave the 500 a more modern feel. This very good 1972 Fiat 500 Lusso was imported from Italy in 2018. It has been subject to a complete restoration, this included repainting the car in pale blue, please note the bonnet requires some remedial work, and a fully customised and hand stitched light blue interior was fitted. The chromework was also replaced with new bumpers, headlight surrounds and new front badge. Finally, the car was fitted with some Cromodora style wheels and hub caps. The car has been subject to a major service and all the fluids, filters and electrical components were replaced. This pretty Fiat 500 is supplied with a V5C registration document. The Fiat 500L captures the essence of classic Italian motoring, combining compact size, charming design, and a spirited driving experience.
2015 Ford Mustang 5.0 litre Transmission: manualMileage:4265The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan in March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history, with the original Mustang selling over one million units in its first eighteen months alone. After five previous generations diluting the original 'Pony car', the sixth-generation arrived in 2013 to widespread consideration that Ford has perhaps returned the Mustang to its glory days. The sixth-generation Mustang was unveiled on December 5, 2013, in Dearborn, Michigan, New York, Los Angeles, California; Barcelona, Spain, Shanghai, China; and Sydney, Australia, with the internal project code name; S-550, with three engine options available: a newly developed 2.3 litre EcoBoost with 310bhp, a 3.7 litre 300bhp V6, or the 5.0 litre Coyote 435bhp V8 with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. A new independent rear suspension system was developed specifically for the new model. It also became the first factory version designed as a right hand drive export model to be sold overseas through Ford new car dealerships in right hand drive markets. After the much beloved TVR brand had finally been bought back by a group of business minded car enthusiasts keen to revive the once glorious TVR name, they set about designing a car that would not only start a new chapter in the brand's history, but also ensure its longevity to hopefully compete with all the other top supercar manufacturers going forward. With this in mind they hired non-other, than the great Formula 1 champion race car designer and designer of the legendary F1 race car, Gordon Murray. A design concept was agreed and a new car penned. As part of the development of the new car, TVR needed a test mule to develop their ECU settings along with a myriad of other electric necessities. The engine the new car was to run was the same as in the newly released Ford Mustang. With that a brand new V8 engined Mustang was ordered from Ford and imported to the UK for Murray to experiment with. Offered here is that car, a unique piece of British automotive history and one which is only being released from a sixty-car collection to free up space and money for an exciting new acquisition. Reported to run and drive very well and to be really quite rapid, there are interesting features still in place such as the emergency power cut red button in the cabin!Supplied with a V5C registration document along with import papers along with correspondence from Gordon Murray Automotive to the DVLA. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of history from the return of the UK's most outlandish car brand!Guide price £18,000 - £28,000Interested parties should note that as the TVR test mule, this Mustang has been uprated and is reported to be producing around 800bhp. These figures cannot be confirmed by us, but given the car’s history and how it drives, it seems quite likely.
1973 Citroën SM 3.0 Manual Transmission: manualMileage:99392In 1961, Citroën began work on 'Project S', a sports variant of the revolutionary Citroën DS. As was customary for the firm, many running concept vehicles were developed, increasingly complex and upmarket from the DS. Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968 with the intention of harnessing Maserati's high-performance V6 engine technology to produce a true Gran Turismo car combining the sophisticated Citroën suspension. The result was the Citroën SM, first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1970 and which went on sale in France in September of that year. Factory produced cars were all left hand drive, although right hand conversions were available in the UK and Australia. The origin of the model name 'SM' is not completely clear. The 'S' may derive from the Project 'S' designation and the 'M' perhaps refers to Maserati, hence SM is often assumed to stand for 'Systeme Maserati' or 'Sports Maserati'.Exported new in 1973 to the United States of America, this SM was believed to have been owned by a French diplomat. This would explain the incredibly rare specification of it being a 3.0 litre car, but with a manual transmission. Most 3.0 litre cars were supplied with the automatic gearbox rather than the manual and most of the total production were supplied with the smaller 2.7 litre motor, (thanks to the French 'puissance fiscale' taxation which made large displacement vehicles too expensive to sell in any quantity in France). The vendor acquired the car from Octane magazine Editor David Lillywhite, who had catalogued a long and often painful restoration of the car to its now beautiful state in the magazine. Included in the car's history file along with import documentation, is a full print out of all the articles mapping David Lillywhite's restoration journey. It appears he went through every element of the car and had the car resprayed to match the restoration, as well as replacing the American specification front light clusters to the prettier Perspex covered European units. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is now selling only as part of a downsizing of his considerable collection.Supplied with a V5C registration document along with import papers, original owner's manual and a record of the Octane magazine restoration articles. You would be hard pushed to find another manual 3.0 litre SM, let alone one which has had such love and car lavished upon it as well as having the restoration process followed by the leading classic car magazine.
2004 MG X-Power SV Transmission: manualMileage:5313MG's striking SV was designed by Peter Stevens, Royal College of Art Designer who had been responsible for McLaren's F1 and was based on the platform of the Qvale Mangusta. Prior to the demise of MG Rover, a team has been working on a project to return the company to the forefront of motorsport competition via sports and touring racing which included production of high-performance road cars. The X-Power SV was planned as the ultimate in the company's street legal offerings. Making its debut at the 2002 UK Motor Show the SV boasted a mouth-watering specification including a Ford 4.6 litre V8 power plant with five-speed gearbox and limited slip differential. The design's Italian-built steel box frame chassis (clothed in carbon fibre) was extremely rigid - as it needed to be in order to cope with some 320bhp on tap. The 0-60mph dash could be achieved in under 5.5 seconds whilst top speed was quoted at 165mph.Car number 144 was sold new in May 2004 to Gordon Sturdy who specified his SV as a manual gearbox car painted in Garnet Red Supertallic. Believed to be the only one painted in this shade of red, (most red cars being painted in Solar red), it was specified with 'Oyster' leather and Alcantara interior, automatic climate control, CD Tuner, Infinity speakers, large rear spoiler and track day free flowing exhaust. The supplied original bill of sale shows Mr. Sturdy paid £46,000 for the car and then an additional £870 to have the SV seat upgrade. The car's history file shows receipts for maintenance work carried out by Maidstone Sports Cars, as well as the original owner's handbook, parts list CD, MG X-Power SV book by David Knowles and promotional DVD and book. Whilst officially the second owner, Mr. Stury was for all intents and purpose the first, as the car was first registered to MG Sport and Racing Ltd as a demonstrator. It must have had light use though, as even now the car has only covered 5,313 miles. Purchased by our vendor in 2021, the car formed part of a large eclectic collection of cars and has had only light use. Reported by him to run and drive incredibly well, the car is now only for sale to free up some money and space for an incoming project.Supplied with a V5C registration document, original purchase invoice, book pack, maintenance and service handbooks, many MoT test certificates and invoices. This rare and unique car, believed to be the only in this colour is bound to wow at any car meeting or show, with performance to match its wild styling.Interested parties should note that contrary to the catalogue description, this MG SV X-Power is not the only car painted in Garnet Red, but in fact one of only two cars painted by the factory in the colour.
1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Transmission: manualMileage:57955The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is a two-door grand touring convertible with a removable hardtop that was produced between May 1955 and February 1963 with a prototype first shown at the 1954 New York Motor Show. It was sold alongside the faster, more expensive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL which it closely resembled both in its styling, engineering, detailing and fully independent suspension. However, the 190 SL did not use the 300 SL's purpose-built tubular spaceframe W198 platform but was built on a shortened monocoque R121 unit. The 190 SL was powered by a new 1.9 litre straight-four SOHC engine that developed 104bhp and was later also used in the W120, 180 and W121, 190 models. The four-cylinder engine block of the 190 SL was based on the six-cylinder engine of the 300 SL. The car was available either as a soft top convertible or with removable hardtop. This delightfully handsome Mercedes has had recent expenditure with Classic Sport Leicht, very well-respected marque specialists in Paris. Presenting supremely well in Gunmetal grey with contrasting red interior, we are informed this 190 SL drives with no known faults. This left hand drive example has been the subject of an extensive restoration and as such, is ready to be enjoyed immediately. The coachwork is in good order as is the chromework (of which there is plenty) and the interior is virtually unmarked. The 190 SL is best suited for touring, as it featured copious amounts of luggage space, despite having a convertible top. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a history folder, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a very good looking and well sorted 190 SL.
