NOTTINGHAM; an 18th century salt glazed stoneware documentary mug, inscribed 'October 7th 1719', and additionally dated 1719 at the rim, decorated with three lines of sgraffito panels, height 13cm.Additional InformationThere is a section of the rim around where the date is which has an old break and repair, probably 19th century, the repair on the inside appears to be a patch repair with a membrane.This extends down to the first of the ridged bands. There are four hairline cracks running down from the rim of the mug and there are nine also chips and grazes to the rim of the mug. General light wear to the underside. Despite faults, overall ok.

A George V hallmarked silver oval photograph frame with hinged wooden back, Birmingham 1910, height 18cm and two other hallmarked silver oval photograph frames, Birmingham 1920 and Birmingham 1923.Additional InformationThe first frame which is slightly larger at the bottom than the top has a heavy dent top left, lots of other dents throughout, there is a section of the loop back missing and a loose easel frame. The larger of the two remaining frames has a replaced back, splits to the wood, dents throughout. The small frame has splits to the wood, replaced hinge back, dents and a couple of small splits to the silver.
A pair of late 19th century Chinese blue and white moon flasks, each decorated with four claw dragons, surrounded by prunus flowers, height 26.3cm.Additional InformationThe first example with a very faint hairline crack to the top rim, the second example with a larger/darker v-shaped crack with a larger crack terminating from it from the rim, also very minor glaze chips to the foot rim, and wear to each of the foot rims, natural faults to the applied handles.

Additional InformationEach perhaps with a few minor glaze scratches here and there but generally good condition.
RAGNA SPERSCHNEIDER; a brass and enamel decorated beaker of tapering cylindrical form, maker's mark to the base, height 11.75cm. (D)Footnote: The artist was born in Halle on October 9th 1928. She received her artistic training in various enamel techniques and the metalwork required for this from 1945 at the Burg Giebichenstein Art College with Lil Schultz and Karl Muller. In 1948 and 1950 she passed her journeyman's examination for both techniques. After a one year stay at the Berlin University of Fine and Applied Arts and training there with Hans Uhlmann she switched to the Hamburg University of Fine Arts in 1951 as a student of Wolfgang Tumpel. From 1953 she participated with her works in International exhibitions and was commissioned as a freelance artist with a large number of exhibits for renowned awards; later also large format decorative panels on various new buildings in the public sector. She lived and worked in Hamburg with her husband, the painter and graphic artist Hans Sperschneider and died on July 22nd 2003 in Tenerife.
