A 1989 MG Maestro 2.0 EFI, registration number G559 FOJ, black. This MG is a rare survivor being one of less than 50 still registered on British roads. A well presented example which has only had two owners from new and displays a genuine 51,250 miles on the odometer. The MG is finished in gleaming black with a contrasting grey cloth interior and is said by the vendor to drive excellently. From information taken from the history file it can be seen that the Maestro was first registered to Rover Group as a company car on 24th August 1989 before being sold to Mrs Margaret Anne Castle on 15th December 1989 through Ken Hastings Motor Services, Rayleigh, Essex for £7,500. This incredibly original MG Maestro comes to auction with a large history file containing a run of MOTs verifying the mileage, maintenance receipts, a photocopy of the original V5, SORNs and sundry paperwork ***but no original bill of sale.*** V5C, MOT to March 2017 See illustration Please note that there is a £60+VAT minimum premium on this lot
A 1971 Mini Cooper S Mk III, registration number XLV 106J, chassis number XAD1 308242A, engine number 12H397F 909, Glacier white. Direct from the executors of the Keith Nash estate deceased. The Mk III Cooper S was manufactured for a very short period between March 1970 and June 1971, with a relatively small number of 1,570 being made. This in effect makes it a limited edition run, and in the process making it one of the rarest Mini Cooper variants. The outward appearance of the Cooper S was virtually indistinguishable from a humble Mini 1000. This made the car a quintessential Q-car which did not go unnoticed. The Liverpool Constabulary ordered 27 Glacier white examples to add to their fleet and this is one of them, and was first registered to the Chief Constable of Liverpool and West Mercia Constabulary on the 11 September 1971. The Mini has come from a long term ownership and has formed part of a West Country collection for a number of years. The Cooper was used to attend many local classic car events. Due to the worsening health of Mr Nash, the Cooper had not been used for some time and kept in store so now will require some re-commissioning before going back into regular use. The Mini is offered for sale with DVLA history and some spares including various sets of wheels. During the restoration the decision was taken to convert the roadster to full chrome bumper specification, with lowered suspension ride height, chrome bumpers front and rear and chrome radiator grille. There is a vast history file accompanying the car with receipts for the restoration, historical receipts, past MOTs, the original Passport to Service, Supercover dealer supplied wallet and sundry paperwork, ****but no photographs of the restoration in various stage or V5.*** V5C, MOT to January 2017 See illustrations Please note that there is a £60+VAT minimum premium on this lot
A 1991 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit II, registration number J215 XEP, red. The Silver Spirit II was launched at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show. It featured some improvements over the older model including automatic rider control, a system which adjusted the dampers on four wheels in real time, the dashboard was uprated with additional bull's eye ventilation outlets and it was the first car to adopt ABS braking and fuel injection as standard. This particular model, an early fuel injection example, was originally supplied by Jack Barclay London in November 1991. The Rolls-Royce has covered a believed 141,000 miles from new and has had four previous owners, the last of whom used it daily to commute to London. The car is finished in metallic red with a contrasting magnolia leather interior with maroon piping and carpets. The top roll is maroon which matches the carpets. The vendor describes the body work and interior as requiring some cosmetic attention when inspected closely, although both the bright work and exterior trim are in good order. The Rolls-Royce and offers tremendous value luxury motoring at the guide price. ***No history file.*** V5C, MOT to August 2016 See illustration Please note that there is a £60+VAT minimum premium on this lot
A 1975 BMW 320 automatic, registration number OBA 73P, chassis number 4260050, blue. This BMW 320 is believed to be the oldest known right hand drive survivor, leaving the Bavarian factory's production line in November 1975, arriving at the Bridgwater BMW dealership where it was registered to its first owner in January 1976 and had the registration number CYB 1J. The second owner purchased the car in 1978 and the current vendor acquired it in 1997. At this point the vendor resprayed the boot and carried out local repairs to the B pillars with subsequent localised paint repairs. A new rear bumper section was fitted and the wheels were refurbished. All other areas remained untouched and there were just 66,000 miles on the clock. The odometre has since increased to 69,000 miles. Since the initial refurbishment no further remedial work has been necessary apart from regular servicing and replacement of consumables. This extremely original BMW still retains its original tool kit and Blaupunkt radio. Now registered OBA 73P, it is finished in blue with a contrasting blue cloth and vinyl interior. The history file contains the owner's handbook, a radio manual, a four page article featuring this car in Total BMW (September 2003) and some service history. For the BMW collector, this must be a wonderful opportunity to purchase a 3 Series with ***some (not continuous)*** history and the added appeal of being believed to be the oldest known surviving right hand drive example.
