France 1849-1927 Collection on vintage printed leaves, German origin, chiefly used with notable mint, a powerful offering with few gaps and some big stamps and sets, the classics are generally sound, some of the hi cat earlier printings mixed, we note 1849/50 Ceres imperf to 1F (faults), 1852 Napoleon Republic imperf 10c bistro gu with huge margins (Cat £750), well filled perforated range inc cds; 1869 5F Napoleon, good appearance, has thin ;1870s Ceres issues inc g.u and odd mint ;1876/78 Peace and Commerce to 5F (u) inc useful Type I ;Early Dues with hi cat; Complete ranges for Turn of Century issues leading to WW1 period, 1917 Red Cross cds, 1917 first Orphan set m or u with 5F+5F blue mint og well centred (key stamp Cat £2000), 1F+1F red gu, 1922 and ’27 2nd and 3rd Orphan sets mint (Partly stuck down) and much else besides. 100s. This is a genuine, unpicked lot with many nice copies and better and hi cat stamps, some with faults. Enormous cat running into 5 figures.
