Barbados1861-70 No Watermark, Rough Perf. 14 to 161/- blue error of colour with the usual pen-marks removed, perforations on three sides, good colour and well-centred for this stamp, faint trace of toning otherwise fine. Extremely rare, only fifteen examples have been recorded. R.P.S. Certificate (1962). S.G. 34a, £18,000. Photo Note: In 1863 the printer, Perfins, Bacon and Co., sent a supply of 50,000 to the island. On arrival it was discovered that they were printed in blue, the colour of the 1d., instead of black. A new supply was despatched and the "blue" error was not put on sale.
