After Stanley Spencer 'Girl with Dog'; 'Disciples at the Gate'; 'Me Greeting Hilda'; three offset lithographs, trial proof each plate 40 x 27cm and similar, unframed (3) These prints were probably made by Spencer's friend, the artist Henry Trivick, and are after drawings made by Spencer during the 1930s. It is a trial proof and so does not bear the Friary Studio stamp.Condition report: Each mounted, 'Disciples at the Gate' has a small brown mark lower left edge of image/margin but no other obvious condition issues. Girl with Dog has a crease (although this is not overly obvious) in a diagonal line through the lower half, it also has light rippling and handling creases but mostly to the margins, it says 'trial' in margins. Hilda is in good condition. All three are presented in clean mounts.
Assorted Circa 1920/50s Ladies' Dresses and Evening Wear, comprising black full length open weave jersey style dress with short sleeves, V-neck and pleated detail to the front; black crepe short dress with three-quarter length sleeves, smocked and gathered detail from the waistband, buttons to the back and belt to the reverse; black textured short sleeve day dress with lace trimmed V-neckline, covered buttons to the front and belt to the reverse (36" bust); black silk taffeta dress with long sleeves, sweet heart neckline, smocked detail to the bodice, panelled skirt, multi buttons to the lower sleeve; 1920s brown and cream patterned long sleeved day dress, with brown silk decorative insertions to the bodice and collar; pink, green and brown floral dress with long sleeves, stylised cuffs, smocked detail to the waist, pleated skirt; Stamp Taylor cream short sleeve dress with panelled mount to the bodice, pleated skirt and buttons to the back; pink full length dress with two button fastening to the bodice short sleeves, gathered trims to the collar, cuffs and skirt; pale blue full length dress with round neck, short sleeves and smocking to shoulders (9)Condition report: . Black long dress - stitched repairs to the zip area, bobbling, small hole to the pleats and some wear, some thread pulls, 32" bust and fading. Black short dress - hem has lots of loose threads on and some wear, fading overall especially to the shoulders at the back, slight wear overall, 34" bust, has had a dress stud place to the neckline. Black silk taffeta dress - stitched repair under one arm, fading and slight wear, 32" bust. Brown and cream dress - some fading and wear especially around the collar, couple areas where seam open to armhole, 32" bust. Floral dress - numerous loose threads to seams, wear around the zip area and neckline, slight fading and wear overall - 34" bust. Stamp Taylor dress - belt missing, some of the dart seams pulled, wear around the zip, slight discolouration overall, 36" bust. Pink dress - 38" bust, couple of thread pulls, fading, later over-stitching in white, missing belt. Pale blue dress - couple of marks to the reverse, slight fading and wear, 32" bust.
A collection of twenty-seven vintage treen shoe lasts and shoe moulds, including a pair with leather mounts, with various inscribed notes, a stamp named 'G Care London', and a label for 'Horn Bros Ltd'. PROVENANCE: The Raymond Rush Collection. Mr Rush was an engineer, farmer and lay preacher who lived at Golden Cross Farm in Siddington, Cheshire. He was also a historian, broadcaster, author and speaker who regularly gave talks on local history, agricultural history and historic curios. In addition, he was also an accomplished maker of corn dollies. PLEASE NOTE: This lot is being sold in-situ from a local farm house in Siddington. Collection within the week by Friday 26th.
