Ceylon. Revenues. 1938 registered envelope from the Hotel Suisse, Kandy to Sydney, bearing 5r and the 10r Revenue with 24 10 38 Kandy Registered CDSs. The envelope is stamped 'CLOSED' at lower right. An unusual acceptance of this stamp for mail fourteen years before its authorisation, presumably allowed because of the overpayment. Ex David Norris (Spink July 2006, Lot 402)
