Mattel - He-Man - A boxed 1989 He-Man Starship Eternia # 2133. This rare set which transforms into 12 action modes shows some signs of age and play use but appears in Very Good overall condition. The red push switches on top of the light module is missing, and one of the four lugs that holds the canopy in place has broken off. The box is in Good condition with some wear and has a small stamp sized square hole cut out of the rear face where a collectable token was originally. There is no instruction sheet with it so it is unchecked for completeness. (This does not constitute a guarantee)

The annotations largely consist of performance notes, however there are a few alterations to the composition which possibly indicate that the score was used for rehearsals with the composer who proceeded to make a few last-minute changes.

The Becquerel Rays and the Properties of Radium, first edition, small ink ownership stamp to title, portion cut away from front free endpaper, some spotting, original cloth, spine a little rubbed and faded, 1904 § Curie (Pierre) Oeuvres, first collected edition, photogravure frontispiece, some foxing, modern cloth, original printed wrappers bound in (rubbed and frayed, repaired), uncut, [PMM 394b], Paris, 1908, plates and illustrations; and 4 others on radioactivity and nuclear science, 8vo (7)⁂ Aston, assistant to J.J.Thomson, developed the mass spectrograph to measure atomic weights; R.J.Strutt was the son of the physicist Lord Rayleigh and his work on alpha radiation was later proved by Rutherford; Pierre Curie won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 with his wife Marie and Henri Becquerel for their research into radioactivity.

The Economy of Steam Power on common Roads, first edition, large folding plate of Boydell's Traction Engine, errata slip, plates and illustrations, original pictorial cloth, gilt, rubbed, spine faded, preserved in modern cloth drop-back box, [1860]; and another on steam engines, folio & 8vo (5)⁂ Watt took out his first patent on a steam engine in 1769; the first act here was an extension of that patent giving him and his partner Matthew Boulton the sole right to manufacture the engine until 1800. Boulton used Watt's invention to improve the minting of coinage, for which he took out a patent in 1790. He produced the machinery at his Soho Foundry in Birmingham, the second act enabling him to export it to Russia, which would otherwise have been illegal.

A 19th Century Chinese Wanli Ming mark blue & white porcelain writing block / stamp brick of square form having an ochre finished twin section top with decorated botanical sides and Kaishu script marks throughout. The underside bearing a six character Wanli mark. No visible signs of major damage. Measures approx; 5cm x 13cm x 9cm.

Lot 256

Newlyn School rectangular copper framed mirror, repousse decorated with six fish around the perimeter, with other marine forms and a central scallop shell to the bottom. The mirror has a bevelled edge and the fame is stamped 'Newlyn' to the top edge. 69cm x 37cm.No cracks to the mirror or loss of silvering however some surface scratches commensurate with age. Copper in good condition with patination to the bottom of the mirror and some oxidation to the edges of the repousse designs and the mirror edge. Clear 'NEWLYN' stamp.

Lot 259

Pair of mid-century teak side cabinets made by Lane, Altavista, Virginia, each with a single drawer, 'Lane' stamp to the inside of both cabinets. 56cm wide, 76cm deep, 56cm high.One cabinet is in good condition, the other has loose legs on one side and a crack reglued on one of the stretchers. There is still some movement to the legs due to this so the piece would benefit from some re-gluing or re-screwing. Also, the brass ball joint is loose. Please see all additional images.

Tim Stead burr elm corner cupboard with two hinged doors and a three shelf interior with bronze paste rubbed into areas of the wood. 87cm wide, 53cm deep, 189cm highThe cupboard is in good overall condition with no damage apart from a small area in the top left corner of a rear panel (photographed). The vendor of this item was in the wood trade and supplied Tim Stead with elm and other woods for his work. This piece was given to the gentleman as a form of payment for providing the wood. There is no signature/stamp however the vendor in question received the pieces directly from Tim Stead in the 1980's.

Lot 27

After Josef Lorenzl (1892-1950) Art deco cast metal figure of a partially clothed female dancer on a tapering square onyx base. Lorenzl signature scratched into the bronze base of the figure. 19cm tall including base.There is no stamp to the base to prove that the figure is or isn't bronze, there are a couple of scratched areas where the metal is silver coloured below. No splits or cracks to the figure or the base. The figure is solidly attached to the base and stands straight. the are a couple of small chips that can be felt with your fingernail to the edges of the onyx base. Patination to the figure, mainly to the arms and hair.

Franz Bergman, early 20th century Austrian cold painted bronze band of 10 dog musicians playing instruments including the drums, trumpet, horn, cello. triangle, symbols a singer and composer. All ten dogs in the band have the Bergman 'B' urn stamp to the inside of their hind leg or to the underside of the base if larger. The drummer and the cello player are also stamped 'AUSTRIA', average height 8cm.
