Alberti Magni Confessoris Ordinis praedicatorum et episcopi Ratisbonensis. Small folio, Regensberg(?) 1931.Text in Latin. Library label on the inside front covers, but no other stamps or labels. A .177" BSA Cadet air rifle, number B38093 (1946-49), the butt bearing a small Belfast retailer's stamp (the name illegible). A .58" Colt made Springfield model 1861 percussion rifled musket, converted for use as a carbine, barrel 26" dated "1864" at the breech, with eagle stamp on the nipple bolster, and with 2 leaf folding rearsight; the lock dated 1864 and marked "U.S./ COLTS PT. F-A MFG CO/ HARTFORD.CT"; converted to half stock with ramrod rib beneath the barrel, with regulation pattern steel mounts including single barrel band, the butt plate tang stamped "U.S". GWO & C (slight wear, the front ramrod pipe detached but present, the steel ramrod a replacement). Colt was contracted to supply 37,500 Springfield rifles in 1864. £500-600

A brass barrelled flintlock coaching blunderbuss by J Harding & Son, 32" overall, the slightly swamped late 17th century 16" 3 stage barrel having London and maker's proofs, the breech engraved "J HARDING & SON. BORO. LONDON.S", the muzzle engraved "FOR HIS MAJESTY'S MAIL COACHES"; the flat stepped lock having roller on the frizzen spring, engraved "J. HARDING & SON", dated "1837" on the tail, and bearing crown over arrow stamp; walnut fullstock with brass mounts including flower engraved trigger guard with flared finial, and engraved butt plate tang; the original brass tipped ramrod having iron worm. A near pair of Rozenburg Den Haag twin-handled porcelain vases,one dated 1911-12, the other 1914, each of twin-handled form, with painted decoration of peacocks and flowers, both decorated by Samuel Schellink, with painted and stamped factory marks to the underneath, signed with decorator monogram for Samuel Schellink, one with a crescent moon date stamp, used during 1914, 8cm square19.5cm high (2)Condition report: The 1914 dated vase with slightly rougher indentations toward the base, compared to the other example, where the form appears much smoother. The 1911-12 example leans slightly to one side in its structure. Both with slight asymmetry to the handles. The 1914 example with a dented handle. All dents referred to in the condition report are made pre-glazing of the vases. Some minor craquelure occurring in places. The 1911-12 example with some minor hairline cracks to the underneath. Some staining to the bottom of both. No detected chips or repairs detected.
William De Morgan (1839-1917),a ruby lustre charger, c.1875-80, centred with a merman with a fish on the end of his triton, within a sunburst border, a band of dancing putti on a leaf ground with a banded and circle border, the reverse centred with four fish and a wide band of stylised scrolling foliage, faint 'Davis' stamp to the centre, 43.5cm diameterLiterature: See Martin Greenwood, 'The Designs of William De Morgan', Richard Dennis, 2007, pl.8, for a similar band of putti. Condition report: Some scratches to the central panel and sunburst border and putti band. Dark line to one area on the putti border. Some rubbing and wear to the border rim. Base rim is worn and scratched. Some further scratches to the central panel of fish.
