QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER-a silver gelatine photograph by Anthony Buckley, a good formal portrait showing the subject in formal dress, wearing tiara and holding a fan, signed in ink by Queen Elizabeth and dated 1971, 25 x 20cms, photographer's ink stamp verso; and album containing a collection of show business and sporting autographs including Charles Laughton, Charles Boyer, Googie Withers, Katherine Hepburn, Flora Robson, Peter Ustinov, Orson Wells, John Gielgud, Len Hutton, George Formby, various members of Blackpool FC 1947, also Sheffield United (no date), Stanley Matthews (loose in letter form), approx 50, on paper scraps, studio photographs and programmes; three signed letters from L. S. Lowry, hand written in ink to a Mr. K. C. Slater, three dates in 1964, referring to various meetings with the recipient, each with it's envelope; three hand written postcards signed by John Piper; a letter written in ink and signed John Piper, dated 1968; a letter from Yehundi Menuhin to the Very Revd Dean Of Manchester dated 29th December 1969, signed in ink; autograph of Margaret Thatcher on a card with the portcullis imprint; an early 20th Century sketch book containing various humorous watercolour and pencil sketches relating to war and travel
Aireys Railway Map Of South Wales. Linen backed contained in a brown, hardback cover measuring 7 1/2 " x 5 1/4 " opening to 44" x 22" in 27 segments. Dated 1893, this colour map is in excellent condition with a penciled line drawn in and a couple of station annotations added. Quite wonderful to see all the different railway companies and lines. Together with a Railway Clearing House 1907 Official Railway Map of Staffordshire District. Contained within a hardback, black folder with gold lettering, it opens to 41" x 27" in 41 linen backed segments. Shows North Worcestershire, West Warwickshire, some of Wales and Staffs of course. Excellent condition with just a couple of spots of staining. Bears the GWR Goods Office stamp 1911 on inside cover. Together with a Railway Clearing House 1921 colour Map of The Railways of London. Measures 52" x 41" approximately in 45 segments which fold into a red hardback cover with the word 'London'' on the spine. Good condition throughout. Finally, a Geographia linen backed map of Bristol showing railway lines and stations. Undated but shows Long Ashton station, probably 1930's. No covers.
Victorian 1 Pint Tankard beautifully engraved 'Railway Hotel Putney'. Bears the Crown & VR official weights & measures stamp number 29 alongside the PINT. A wonderful item, well aged but polished to grace any collection. The Railway Hotel, now called the Railway and owned by Wetherspoons, is a Victorian building of immense charm, situated on the Richmond Road in Putney.
