A set of boxwood and ebony Staunton chessmen, the white king signed Jaques, London and with bishops mitre stamp to two rooks and two knights, the kings 10cm high the pawns 5cm high, contained in a baize lined box with Staunton label, the cover with plaque 'Bebington Chess Club Tournament First Prize won by Thomas C Crane Esq. March 1869' and the folding board with geometric inlaid border/see illustration Condition Report: The black Queen with split to base about the size of a pin. Spilt to cover on box.
