French Clock Garniture. A pink marble and ormolu mounted clock garniture. The case of rectangular form, surmounted by a seated cherub holding a torch, together with a pair of matching candlesticks. The twin train, 8 day movement, having count-plate strike at the hours and half-hours on a bell. The back plate marked 2888, with a circular stamp of a star surrounded by AD Mougin, deux medailles. The white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and blue Arabic numerals to the outer edge, with pierced and engraved brass hands. Height of clock, 12.5'', height of candlestick 7''.

Bretby Art Nouveau Period Twin Handled Lustre Green Colourway Tray with sinuous formed handles and planished effect green and black colourway in a pleasing asymetric from and colour, Incised Bretby stamp to underside reg no 499912 and shape no 1676, Circa 1910. A rare piece from Bretby in Christopher Dresser style. 14.5 inches 36.25 cms in length, 8 inches 20 cms depth. Wonderful condition and colour.

An early 20th Century Smiths wall clock with bakelite outer bezel and with an eight-day movement, the 11.5 inch dial with Roman numerals, with GV cypher stamp to the rear of the case and with a label noting that the clock was previously at St Giles School Coventry, key present, overall diameter 37cm, S/D.
The car pennant on a chromed eagle and swastika pole and Nazi wooden handled metal stamp, liberated from the Hamburg Gauleiter Karl Kaufmann by Captain M J Cottrill of the East Lancs Regiment. By family legend the pennant was used as a doormat for the Brigade headquarters. This lot comes with a letter from the Captain's son, a copy of the relevant extract from the East Lancs 1939-1945 History and a copy of Captain Cottrill's war diary for May 1945, typed later that year.
