A Victorian Irish Killarney ware pocket watch standMid 19th centuryof shaped outline and inlaid with a thistle, shamrock and rose, hinging to reveal a watch aperture, together with a 19th century mahogany pocket compass with paper dial, a Mauchline ware lidded box with a central image of Lower Sandgate Road Folkestone, a thuyawood stamp box, interior with four divisions, and. hexagonal paper covered box (5)Width largest box 12cm, watchstand 8.5cm high Condition: Overall good. The watch stand would benefit from a clean, some wear to the edges of the hexagonal box and the thuyawood box is very clean and has chip to its right corner.
A Victorian 9 ct gold Albert watch chain, with gold shield inscribed "Cup Winners 1903-4 Workington Catholics W Cartmell", weight +/- 47 grams. CONDITION REPORT: The gold chain is stamped with the makers mark WJD Birmingham 375. The first chain link is stamped 375 Birmingham. The bar is stamped 375. One dog clip has rubbed hallmarks, the other is stamped 375 with a separate stamp 9. The shield is also stamped 9 and with the date letter D.
A quartet of oriental hardwood tables, with fretwork decoration. Largest height 74 cm, width 37.5 cm, depth 37.5 cm, smallest height 44 cm, width 18 cm, depth 18 cm. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The largest table has a slight wobble to it. The front right-hand leg has a spilt to the timber leading from the top down the leg which is approximately 8 to 10 cm in length although this has been filled at some point. There are some scratches to the rear particularly to the centre. The top has various age-related marks. The next table is structurally sound but it has a ring mark to the top. To the underside there is a museum stamp although it has been double stamped and is hard to read. The next table is structurally sound. The carved panel to the rear of the third table has a split which is approximately 5 cm in length. This as the same museum stamp which looks like IPARMGVESZETI. The last table is structurally sound. There are splits to two of the carved panels one which goes all the way through but this is not open to far and appears to have been waxed.
Triumph Cycle Company (later New Triumph Company Ltd) - A mid 20th century circa 1950s touring travel commuters road bicycle push bike. Having a steel green frame with gilt Triumph lettering. Single speed with friction front and rear lights (untested) with attention bell and woven basket to front. With bike pump, V breaks and suspension padded seat (af). With makers stamp. A 20th century French yellow metal and enamel box, the oval hinged cover with blue enamel centre with surround of foliate detail, with gilt interior stamped indistinctly and conforming decoration to body, possible French eagle head stamp to interior, 7cm wide, within fitted box Condition report: Minor loss seen to the base of the box within the blue oval cartouche (seen with x10 loupe) Loss to gilt highlights throughout.Loss to the green, gilt and white enamel to reverse of box. Major loss to the white enamel at front of boxSurface scratches seen throughout the enamel, Interior of box with surface scratches and blemishes commensurate with use. The printed surface appears to be in good condition showing no obvious damage, however the colours are likely to have faded somewhat over time. The paper shows no obvious foxing, but does show some age-related darkening. The frame appears to be structurally sound.
