1968 Land Rover Series IIA ProjectRegistration no. KCW 298GChassis no. 24134571DOdometer reading: MOT Expiry: *V8 Project car with F1 roots*One if its kind and truly unique*Bespoke exhaust *Re-engineered gearboxThis Land Rover Series IIA presents a rare opportunity to build a vehicle that is truly one of its kind. This project vehicle was the brainchild of F1 engineer Alistair Oxley, who decided to build himself the ultimate Land Rover series IIA whilst he was at Williams. Unhappy with the stock engine on the car, Oxley had a brand new never run TVR V8 engine fitted to the car. The engine, from chassis number 001, was a 3.9 unit that was bored to 4.0. The engine is Group A spec with SI Large throttle bodies, TVR/TWR ECU, modified heads and valves with ARP bolts throughout. A massive amount of work has been undertaken with the car, with extras fettled by Williams where he was working at the time. This includes a custom exhaust engineered by a Williams. The exhaust is made of Inconel which was gas flowed with equal length headers and twin exits – incredibly bespoke. The leaf springs, brakes and shocks are also bespoke to the car and the gearbox has been completely rebuilt and reengineered. It has a new galvanised chassis and bulkhead along with many boxes of new parts such as ECUs, panels, glass, wings and and more are also included with the vehicle. Aspects to the build such as the interior are still incomplete but offer an incoming owner the opportunity to put their own stamp on the car.
